the arrow to the knee line is actually a real world Norse saying for getting married, hence going on one knee when proposing, so when a guard says that he used to be an adventurer but took an arrow to the knee he's actually saying he settled down and got married
Whatever school is letting Norse History students learn from playing Skyrim has got to be a lot of bull. Norsemen are already fantasized enough to the point of losing the past and making it up as we go.
Jack Glennon . no but rather them being tall muscular warmongering brutes when they weren't. raiding women and children yeah, but rubbish against a trained peasant or especially soldiers.
Okay as a Polygon fan I can confirm that 20:40 through 21:40 is ALL "Touch The Skyrim" footage. The position of the Bee Movie book, the skeleton with the assault rifle on his back getting the master sword, and I even compared that game opening footage with the trains with the opening to "Touch The Skyrim"
I bought Skyrim about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago and rage quit and about a week ago started playing it fully. The reason I rage quit was that I hardly ever played combat games at the time and was mostly racing games (besides Minecraft) and was heavily inexperienced in first person combat. After playing Battlefield 4 for about 3 months I have been able to play Skyrim pretty good at Adept difficulty. This is my first play through where I didn't rage quit and never play it again, and I honestly enjoy the heck out of this game. Now there was one time where this guy was sitting on nothing and I was in a Skype call and I showed my friend it and said "I know Skyrim has magic and whatnot, but what kind of sorcery is this?" Man only about 36 hours into this and it's already been a blast to play.
me too, I'm in high school when skyrim released, and still inexperienced with games except Shooting FPS. tried skyrim because anyone seems recommend it, about to quit when I attack chicken with not knowing that infamous chicken rage. but rage quit just after I enter whiterun because damn "what game is it when I could just died after single giant attack?!!" last year I start it again with open mind, and damn I just cant quit. reaching 450 hour mark now.
I love how if you truly listen to what the npcs say and what’s going on w the current mission or quest, you can finish it solely off of what they say and that’s sick
Xgail fsdf You can get the entire game with all dlc on your PC or laptop. And the added advantage you get is the ability to use console commands on PC. Buying the Switch just because of Skyrim isn't worth it.
+Daniel Frank I agree with your statement but we can't forget about those sweet sweet Nintendo exclusives (which I'm personally indifferent from btw). Having Skyrim is a plus for someone who also likes their marios and their zeldas and their smash bros.
TheMCJarhead I agree. But this guy said that the only reason he wants the switch is because of skyrim which, according to me, isn't worth it just to play skyrim.
@@DistinguishedMrt Alduin is Akatoshs first born or smth and Paarthunax is the second born. Fun fact: The Dragonborn isnt only a guy with a soul of a dragon Akatosh randomly chose. I'm sure everyone asked how they were going to outdo themselves for Elder Scrolls V after Oblivion, yet they did it. And yes, we do not speak of the vile ESO.
ESO was terrible at launch but now it's amazing. We have a ton of Elder Scrolls content to enjoy while we wait for bethesda to take their time and make TES VI the best they can...if we can give them the benefit of the doubt and allow them to learn from their many mistakes made in Skyrim.
Morgan Freeman I mean I just started my first thorough play through only about a week ago. I bought it 2 years ago and rage quit. I honestly love this game.
Here after E3 2018...i'm really looking forward to 'Skyrim: Very Special Edition'. I mean, 'The Elder Scrolls VI' is neat and all, but we all need more 'Skyrim' ports. Definitely.
Technically there have been more than 5 Elder Scrolls games. Redguard, Battlespire, Shadowkey and ESO are spin-off games in the same world, but differ from the usual format in various ways so aren't numbered. The main games are Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
modders are doing it, as people pointed out, but the reason why Bethesda isn't is: they'd need to basically remake the game in the new engine, which is too much work, and with the modders doing it, they don't have to.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I farted at the following times. 03:44, 06:52, 09:26, 10:30, 12:15, 17:38, 19:15, 21:24, 23:47, 25:56, 26:00. I want to apologize for this unacceptable behavior and hope that y'all will forgive me.
Elder Scrolls fans in a nutshell: "The game I played first is the best one. The games after it are too simplified for normies, and the ones before it are way too dated and unplayable."
Baku Haku I started on Morrowind, then oblivion, then skyrim and then the very beginning of arena. Skyrim favourite followed very shortly by Morrowind. Arena was quite enjoyable even though I had aged and it was extremely hard but Skyrim had a great feeling to it. I prove you wrong...
Baku Haku I played skyrim then played oblivion, tbh I felt like I couldn't like oblivion as much because it wasn't what I expected. But I still like it. haven't played the others but I really wanna play morrowind.
just got skyrim for christmas, and suffice to say i am confused with all there is to do, frustrated with my non-existent gaming skills, and ABSOLUTLEY ADORING THIS GAME!
That was compressive and respectful. Thank you. If I could add one thing, it would be praise for Jeremy Soule. His contributions to the Elder Scrolls series go largely unnoticed. Yet, without that score, you might as well play Quake.
skyrim is hands down my favorite game ever, but I almost don't want an Elder Scrolls VI because it almost seems impossible for Bethesda to he create the same game
Bethesda actually made Home Alone for the NES... I don't know why people don't do their research before making the bold clam that the Switch is their 1st time being on a Nintendo console.
Because the previous one matters how? No one would care. And that was what 20 or so years ago? Yeah...safe to use this as the first. Even safer if anyone wants to remove a blimish.
Enter Our Weekly Console Giveaway here: www.leaderboard.nyc/giveaway Bethesda was intentional in not giving your player character a backstory in Skyrim so that you could be free to customize as much as you want. Almost 2023 an i'm still playing...on 3 different platforms :(
First play through finally 🥲
"Arrow to the knee."
=
"I got married."
It basically means they can't adventure anymore because they have higher responsibilities
Oh my it all makes sense now
@Vincent Yustinus wife = bad
Makes sense
the arrow to the knee line is actually a real world Norse saying for getting married, hence going on one knee when proposing, so when a guard says that he used to be an adventurer but took an arrow to the knee he's actually saying he settled down and got married
Still playing Skyrim to this day. 😉
2017: Still no ES6
2023: Still no ES6
2026: ES6 Confirmed!
2027: ES6 in development
2030: ES6 release
Jerico Joaquin And I'll be there on the line of the day one to get My copy
2077: Fallout 5?
3333: half life 3 Confirmed
42134375: half life 3 released
Well, I'd rather have it be released later and be really good then released sooner and everyone hates it.
2021 is more reasonable.
Whatever school is letting Norse History students learn from playing Skyrim has got to be a lot of bull. Norsemen are already fantasized enough to the point of losing the past and making it up as we go.
Wuthraad,
Yeah but you learn more practical & usable stuff than say -- with ethnic or gender studies.
haha I agree with you there.
Yeah, the Vikings had dragons......... and vampires, werewolves, draugr, Blades and other crap.
Jack Glennon . no but rather them being tall muscular warmongering brutes when they weren't. raiding women and children yeah, but rubbish against a trained peasant or especially soldiers.
Nako possibly just the folklore though. Just mixed with Celtic like the Norse gaels.
though I was thinking in real life other than the legends.
Also Steve craft and the dog with Crash Bandicoot and Susan Crushbone showing up with them in dragonsreach at 20:20
The Flaming Arrow I'm glad someone else saw this
The World: “Hey let’s play Skyrim, I have nothing better to do during the pandemic!”
Me: “Finally! Some friends! 😃”
About when I started, too.
Can't wait until next Skyrim version comes out 11.11. 2021.
Disclaimer: Skyrim is literally one of my favorite games of all time. definitely in my top 7.
70 voice actors? did you mean 17 lol.
I like how the video flows I forgot it was a list until I saw the numbers at the top left.
+MaxxTheEnder happy you returned to the game. Sometimes it can take a rage quit (or two) to get the hang of a new gameplay experience.
me too, I'm in high school when skyrim released, and still inexperienced with games except Shooting FPS. tried skyrim because anyone seems recommend it, about to quit when I attack chicken with not knowing that infamous chicken rage. but rage quit just after I enter whiterun because damn "what game is it when I could just died after single giant attack?!!"
last year I start it again with open mind, and damn I just cant quit. reaching 450 hour mark now.
I love how if you truly listen to what the npcs say and what’s going on w the current mission or quest, you can finish it solely off of what they say and that’s sick
literally the only reason i want the switch is because skyrim is going to be on it
Xgail fsdf You can get the entire game with all dlc on your PC or laptop.

Are we forgetting about the appearance of Akatosh in Oblivion, at the end of the Oblivion crisis?
I haven't played oblivion and need to ask this. Is akathos and alduin same person? Some belives that but ı dont know the truth
@@DistinguishedMrt Alduin is Akatoshs first born or smth and Paarthunax is the second born.
Fun fact: The Dragonborn isnt only a guy with a soul of a dragon Akatosh randomly chose. The Dragonborn is also the reincarnation of Talos.
So to stop Alduin, Akatosh brought the reincarnation of Talos (the 9th god who was a human) and gave him the soul of a dragon.
If there were 70 voice actors then why does everyone almost have the same voice as each other
fair point but I do love Skyrim
*Skyrim
UniverSaluna Gaming that’s what the person said....
2022, Skyrim still hits harder than the belt.
I live in constant fear that Elder Scrolls 6 will be bad.
don't make such suggestions. Dont. do. it.
I actually also do. Finally someone I can relate with.
ViperVenom811 Fallout 4 was bad so it is perfectly acceptable to keep expectations low.
Mods always fix everything Bethesda does wrong. It just works.
I hope they actually don't try to make a 6th..it just won't be as good :/ EDIT: well well. i sit in my own naive world TES:VI comes
damnit betheda! how the hell you gona outbeat yourself for elder scrolls six!? (we dont talk about eso)
They have a lot of new stuff they could add tho
Wait.. I know you!
+Almuhdi Alif do you?
There's no mistake, you're a wanted man and it's time to pay for your crimes!
El Padre con Verga Larga who tf pays
I either fight or tell him that it isnt worth it
When a guard tells me that he knows me I just press B and he always says no lollygagging
Almuhdi Alif there's no mistake
The Eric the Slayer one threw me, I never knew. Thank you for sharing this information, I definitely appreciate that fact much more than I used to!
You know what doesn't exist? A gamer that hasn't played skyrim. If you haven't played skyrim then you should really rethink your life
Morgan Freeman its sadder when you play skyrim, but not morrowind
Morgan Freeman I mean I just started my first thorough play through only about a week ago. I bought it 2 years ago and rage quit. I honestly love this game.
Played it but it was boring
Morgan Freeman if you haven't rode a horse of a mountain you need to rethink your life
Morgan Freeman every 14 year old ever
Guard: let me guess…someone stole your sweet roll
Me: yeah his name is butch and he lives in valt 111(I think) good luck finding him
Wolf tK Pretty close though
101
Vault 101
Lmao he is in 101 vault 111 is fallout 4
Here after E3 2018...i'm really looking forward to 'Skyrim: Very Special Edition'. I mean, 'The Elder Scrolls VI' is neat and all, but we all need more 'Skyrim' ports. Definitely.
PS5 Remaster incoming.
Oh... My... God... This game was released the same day my mom and (super cool) step dad got married. That's just... Wow. Just wow.
I mean, don't wanna burst your bubble but I'm sure a lot of things happened on the day Skyrim was released 🤣
@@amylouisesimpson4555 Yeah I knew...
The Elder Scrolls V is the 5th game in the series 👏👏 thx i didn't know that
ShadionicZX did you not know that v stands for 5????
MOOSE bruh every1 knows that
ShadionicZX i think they was being sarcastic lols.

Oblivion remastered needs to happen
soradx1000 there's actually a group of modders remaking Oblivion using Skyrim's creation engine. I think it's called Skyblivion.
That is beautiful. they re doing Talos's work
soradx1000 It's happening - SKYBLIVION
heres your Oblivion remastered
www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/searchresults/?src_cat=29
modders are doing it, as people pointed out, but the reason why Bethesda isn't is: they'd need to basically remake the game in the new engine, which is too much work, and with the modders doing it, they don't have to.
I love skyrim. I hate when i get to a point where i dont know what else to do though. Great video 👍
Y’all aren’t slick using footage of Susan Crushbone!!! I see you
What time? I saw Bone Dogg.
Definitely saw Bone Dogg.

Skyrim was my all time favorite game until last year when I finally played The
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Elder Scrolls fans in a nutshell:
"The game I played first is the best one. The games after it are too simplified for normies, and the ones before it are way too dated and unplayable."
Baku Haku actually, my favorite is oblivion my favorite, and I believe it is a good bit simpler then skyrim
Baku Haku I started on Morrowind, then oblivion, then skyrim and then the very beginning of arena. Skyrim favourite followed very shortly by Morrowind. Arena was quite enjoyable even though I had aged and it was extremely hard but Skyrim had a great feeling to it. I prove you wrong...
go to any video comparing two elder scrolls games, and you will see what i'm talking about
Baku Haku I played skyrim then played oblivion, tbh I felt like I couldn't like oblivion as much because it wasn't what I expected. But I still like it. haven't played the others but I really wanna play morrowind.
the elder scroll fans your referring to are not stupid enough to use the term "normies"
2019 still love and play Skyrim, Skyrim will never ever ever die
Until es6 comes
The "headless horseman" is acutely Ragnar the red. He is a guy in bard song.
Came riding down from old Rorekstead...
I'm sure this has been said a million times but the dragons in skyrim technically aren't dragons they're wyverns
wyvern is just another type of dragon. it like saying penguins are no birds, because they´re penguins
"Giant puffed up firework snakes" xD I lol'd
I didn't know that about the ashes of the dragon on the map, WOW!!!
just got skyrim for christmas, and suffice to say i am confused with all there is to do, frustrated with my non-existent gaming skills, and ABSOLUTLEY ADORING THIS GAME!
Who is watching this after Bethesda E3 2018?
Today is 12/30/2018
Me 8/2/19
I'm in year 9067
9067 has the elder scrolls 90 oofrim
I died when their was a Thomas the tank engine as a dragon
I love dunkey
23:23 I just bought Skyrim a little while ago, and I didn't know what it meant by "Special Edition." Guess I do now, lol
That was compressive and respectful. Thank you.
If I could add one thing, it would be praise for Jeremy Soule. His contributions to the Elder Scrolls series go largely unnoticed. Yet, without that score, you might as well play Quake.
It's my first time playing Skyrim and I'm so happy that I finally made it
It's a Masterpiece
New release of Skyrim 5 coming in 11.11.2021.
I just discovered this game last month, and it has found a special place in my heart. #teamPS3
skyrim is hands down my favorite game ever, but I almost don't want an Elder Scrolls VI because it almost seems impossible for Bethesda to he create the same game
It almost impossible for Bethesda to create a *better* game than Skyrim :)
Moski Fallout 76...
I love #1. I’ve heard people ask about “Skyrim 2” because they think it’s the first game in a series and wonder when the next one is coming.
2019 anyone who still play skyrim
I still play it on my xbox 360 Lmao
3worldproblems
Bethesda actually made Home Alone for the NES... I don't know why people don't do their research before making the bold clam that the Switch is their 1st time being on a Nintendo console.
the bold clam
Because the previous one matters how? No one would care. And that was what 20 or so years ago?
Yeah...safe to use this as the first. Even safer if anyone wants to remove a blimish.

Bethesda was intentional in not giving your player character a backstory in Skyrim so that you could be free to customize as much as you want. Are you happy about that decision or would you like to see more backstory for future Elder Scroll games? Comment down below and let us know which game you’d like us to cover next!!!

Yeah, it brings back good memories... I also used to played Skyrim a lot, then I took an arrow in the knee...
Lololol!!!!!
11 000 000 years later n I'm still Mc Lovin it
Skyrim was my first elder scrolls get and unlike most people I read about the lore and now I'm playing through oblivion it's really different but I like both games I'm glad not one of those people that say "when is skyrim 2 coming" I hope some day I'll get to play Arena, Daggerfall, and Morrowind
no pc
Ouch
If you can find the GotY edition for Xbox, you can play it on the Xbox 360 (I know this because I own Halo: Combat Evolved Platinum Hits Edition and I can play it on Xbox 360)

That little fact about Erik kinda.. turned on the eye water. Well done well done.
Todd Howard is literally the reason I'm busting my ass to get into game design because by God, that man is career goals and I'm not going to stop until I get there 😉
How's that looking for you now?
over 70 voice actors? ive been playing skyrim all week and hear the same 5 male and 5 female voices over and over and over. lies.
well there are lot of characters (usually from the main story line) that has their own voice
Skepp DaVinci woah, all week?! you really must've seen everything by now
Skepp DaVinci woah, all week?! you really must've seen everything by now
hey a week ? have you completed creation
I noticed most of the characters have the same voice and dialogue
16:31 Literally just walked into Hamvir's Rest
They had all of those voice actors and you could still here Mercer Frey's voice in ten important characters.
