@@gmackinnon648 check out antop's website www.antopus.com They sell the variable amplifier it is the same as the old one except that it has variable 14 db gain and is 12 volt power as well as has the extra output. The old one is 5 volts USB power supply 16 db gain non adjustable so you could plug it into the 5 volt USB output on a solar charge controller on a home solar system or RV or marine us. The new one you can hook up directly to any 12 volt power source. It also can be hooked up to a police scanner. with the extra output.

I live 50 miles north north west of Kansas City was wondering how well this antenna picks up lower grade broadcast channels . I get about 35 channels would like a few more .
If you mount it outside it really works great! The higher the better you can check antennaweb.org and it will let you know what potential channels that you could pick up and since you live on flat ground that will help you aswell! The problem there is I am in a apartment building and can't mount it outside . I have a big boy model now but the higher gain catches my attention .
@@johncoy5912 You cant mount it to the building, however it is illegal for them to prevent you from installing it outside on a tripod. That is against FCC rules
hey i noticed you picked up knoxville , tn. wate channel 6.1 -6.4 and wvlt channel 8.1 to 8.4 . i cant get channel 10 wbir in knoxville my antenna is a channel master . it doesnt have the vhf elements on it . i was wondering if i got the antop AT-800SBS if it would bring in channel 10 ? WBIR is one that i like because it has MEtv on 10.2 give me a holler and let me know what you think. my zip is 40744 . its a mile south of the London, Corbin Airport. not far from the tennessee line . i called the engineer at knoxville once , and they said according to them it shouldnt be possible to pick the knoxville , Tn. stations . but thats ridiculous . ever since i was a little kid before cable , we always got channel 6 and channel 10 . at least before everything went digital.....
Hi Daniel its really hard to say for sure some days I can pick up different channels but it all depends on alot of factors like leafs on the trees, mountains, weather, height of tv antenna, cable run length, type of cables, so its really a guess if 10 will come in or not. @@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING ok cause I checked and with all extra channels like 5.1 and 5.2 what I call sub channels I'm spoast to be able to get around 30 channels here
@@nickedens3358 that's correct you should be able to get quiet a few channels and sub channels. I've definitely been happy with my tv antenna its saved me tons of money and works great!

This antenna works really well, but you should NOT use the included RG59 copper clad steel garbage coax cable included in the box as he stated in the video.
Only use RG6 Quad 3ghz oxygen free copper cable. You will have to buy it online as copper RG6 is really hard to find locally.
