I work here... there are all sorts of different companies occupying the units; metal fabricators, upholsterers, caterers, furniture restoration... we design and make bespoke furniture, so we have a large unit full of machines, and another for dispatch and the office. We're on the fourth floor but we really only use the lifts for taking furniture down to the loading bay.
amazing lifts! great video! i always love the way your videos are so long and give you full info of the area! That building looks like a very derelict car park looking office building
I went back there today. The stairwell leads up to the roof level, but doesn't lead anywhere. There is what looks like a cupboard with an ordinary padlock and "KEEP OUT" on it, which must be the motor room. Nothing that spectacular! - it was locked as well.
Interesting video, interesting building!. Never seen one of these old sixties buildings that wasn't flats or offices, it still looks busy which is probably why it's still here today, wonder how long for though...
We have two big gated lifts just like that where I work. They're used for moving goods, strictly no passengers these days. They date from 1973, when the building was constructed.
There were identicle lifts up at the Handy Cross sports centre up until 12 years or so ago. As a kid I used to love slamming the doors shut on them as hard I could!
@joeyollie123 I'm going to go back there soon and film it again with a bettery quality camera. I will film where the lift motor room is (it had a padlock on it last time, hope I get lucky and find it unlocked!). Thanks for the comment :) I always try and make them as interesting as possible. Matt
@super58173 This is a very creepy building, and I wonder how much longer it will be here. Very interesting though. I might go back someday soon with a better quality camera.
the building looks dated but not creepy from the outside, but i soon changed my opinion when i saw inside!apart from the fact those gated lifts scare me,those corridors with those big ancient sinks in them are very creepy!
It's not technically abandoned but it is definitely unclaimed. I know this is a late reply but I drive past it every Wednesday and the windows are packed full of junk so something is going on in there
I absolutely love old abandoned buildings......I hope more people will film them..... It's so exciting and fun to see videos like this.....

Normally, I check to see if I can get in. I didn't on this occasion, but you have made me want to return to see if I can! TBA!
Every town has good and bad areas. This is just a really old building that's not been knocked down yet :)
I may have to revisit here sometime to explore the building a little better in a better quality

weird building isn't it, VERY industrial! Loud noises coming down the corridors from most of the rooms (printers, machinists, etc)

Yes, it is.
Yes, the new stores here in the UK are branded "M&S"
I remember them!
Was the M&S store a Mark and Spencer's?
There the same thing🤦♂️

Is it abandoned

Is this building still standing? I'm considering doing some film work there. If so, would there be any need to get permission?
