I did it the last way, I strip part of my power wire on my OBD and added a fuse to it, along with tapping into my cigarette lighter wire under my console.

Great video and direct. I took the plastic off the pillar and ran the wire with the existing wire because I was worried about it affecting my side curtain air bag
Unfortunately, we do not have a vehicle specific installation video for that application. However, the same basic process/procedure can be followed for the installation.
The rear camera will capture any events that occur when reversing, but this dash camera does not feature a live playback display, so it will not function as a backup camera.

There is a battery saving feature in the Thinkware dash cams so you don't have to worry about that. When the car is off, the Q800Pro will know to switch into parking mode with the battery saving feature. The camera is still on, just using less power.

I researched and found that the OBD2 plug that you are showing is not compatible with vehicles with the auto start/stop feature. Just a heads up!
Thinkware's own branded OBD2 power cable is not compatible with vehicles with Auto Start / Stop
