Great video, I’ve been a huge cigar fan for years and picked up whiskey 3 years ago to pair. At this point, cigar blend whiskies are my jam, whether I have a cigar or not and now that Copper Sky cigar blend is on my radar, would love to find that! I mostly puff full bodied cigars and my only criteria is whether the whiskey can cut the cigar. I smoke outside so this becomes seasonal. In the hot summer lower proof bourbon, Irish and Scotch do the trick. No ice, just ambient temps bring out the whiskey and get a foot up on the cigar. In winter BNB and cask strength bourbon only. They all go with a cigar. Layers and depth of flavor of cask strength cut the cigar in low temps. Underrated whiskey/cigar pair is Midwinters Nights Dram in the summer months with a Padron 1964. MWND is amazing with a cigar. Liga Privada T52 with a store pick Elijah Craig, incredible. Arturo Fuente Xtra Viejo with Glenallachie, indulgent. Man O War Armada with wild turkey 101 or Rare Breed…. Daily! Dovetail, Seagrass, Good Times Rye, love them with a fine cigar. The cigar is the Nikola Jokic and the whiskey is the Jamal Murray.
I’ve been meaning to got reply to this comment every day since you made it but I get busy and time gets away. I’m all about the ice life in the summer. When mowing the lawn a big old rock with an easy drinking whiskey makes the job so much easier. I’ve had a few Padron smokes and have been very happy with them. They generally run rather expensive here in Colorado as we have insane state tax on tabacco. Love the nuggets reference and I know exactly what you mean. It’s a shame they weren’t able to bring it home this year. Cheers.
I can see the pattern with cigars is similar to wine and food. You never want the same notes from each of the spirit and food as that usually ends in a bad pairing. Very good video here patrick. Something a little different.
That’s exactly correct. It’s a delicate game but when you start to get it right it becomes awesome.
I have never really thought of cigar/whiskey pairings. I smoke cigars while I drink but don’t put much thought into it. Great tips. Cheers
It’s kind of like wine and food I like to think. One another that combine and compliment each other.
I would give a classic cigar blend whiskey and a medium leaf cigar a try. It'll rock your world.

Excellent suggestion on the Seagrass, Patrick. I'll give that a try. I don't smoke a lot of cigars, but my favorite Friday afternoon pairing has been a San Cristobal Elegancia with either a Barrell Batch 35 or the Bardstown Disco 11. Cheers!
I just recently bought a sampler that has 5 San Cristobal’s in it. All rated above 90 and so far they are blowing my mind. Very Cuban tasting imo.
