- Zeiss is complimenting the seven CP.2 focal lengths already available with their CP.2 50mm/T2.1 Makro and CP.2 100mm/T2.1 CF. Featuring a 134mm front diameter and a 132mm length front-to-back, it's hard to really call the CP.2 50mm Makro a "compact" prime. But the lens shares all of the same excellent design and construction elements of the series, including interchangeable PL, F, and Canon EF mounts, as well as an incredibly low weight - about 2.5 pounds. We put it up on our projector and the lens looks great, with a nice flat field, even brightness, and almost no flaring or chromatic aberration. Most importantly, it is a macro (magnification ratio 1:2), the only PL mount macro available at this wide a focal length.

The front ring of the lens is not threaded to accept screw-in filters. The outer diameter is 114mm, and there are clamp rings made for this size that can then accept 114mm filters (aka 4.5" round filters). Otherwise one would use a mattebox.
Yes, you could choose to only buy this lens and not purchase a standard 50mm CP.2. I would note though that the focus ring is marked for best use as a macro, so the longer distances are rather bunched together, making standard focus settings less precise. Also the 50mm macro is both larger and heavier than the standard 50mm CP.2.
These lenses are excellent for still image capture.
The Arri PL Mount Director's Viewfinder without Ground Glass is approximately $4,650. Please let me know if you require a more detailed quote and I can have a sales person contact you directly.
@cluelessfather This lens is currently on backorder. We expect our next shipment in a month or two."
The focal length does not change. The lens remains a 50mm.
i just feel the price is a little too much for the macro .. am gonna get the 1.4 for starters ..hopefully later next year shift to the macro ! thanks for your advice !
@AbelCineTech bummer. Do you have any of the regular CP.2 50mms in stock?
When mounting from PL to Canon EOS EF - does it change the focal length of the lens ?
So a 28mm remains fixed to 28mm - and not x by a factor.. THanks!!
how much is one of those Arri Director's Viewfinder? and where can I get one? Cheers!
Actually i got AG-AF100 and i might need few of them but don't know which ones i might need. Never used them before with my video camera but i wanna use them for my documentary so which mm. range should i by? How fast do they focus?
no footage with that lense?? do they build UV Filters to protect those lenses?
Are there filters for this lens that mount on the lens? Or are you restricted to Matte BOx only?
whats the differnce in the 50mm 1.4 and the macro 50mm ??
What's that device you put the lens on? How much does it cost and where do you get it? Also do they make one for canon lenses?
I tried to briefly describe what a macro lens does in the video, but if you would like a more detailed explanation, please take a look at these websites (search your browser for these keywords):

The Macro can focus much, much closer. Thus, macro.
