This is the perfect picatinny rail for a scout scope, does not require drilling and tapping, and will make your Mosin much more usable at longer range! That is better than the gen 1 .... but the wink link is the 2 small bolts . They will bend under recoil . When you factor in the the threads , the metal is about the same as a paper clip in thickness . The fix is to drill the bolt hole for a snug fit for the original sight pin which is a thicker and hardened pin . Tap the sight pin in the location where the bolts would go .The sight base will not have any flex then .

Gen 2 major improvement.
Have you ever taken the rear sight right off and used the dove tail mount underneath. I put a rail right on the dove tail under the original rear sight. It’s a better mounting spot.
I tried one of the old style ones years ago... and it sucked! This one looks like it might actually be a worthwhile design and an actual viable option for a scope without any permanent modification. - I have a setup for my PU that is a mount with 1" split rings and I have a set of shims for my PEM that allow a 1" tube scope to be mounted, these are both absolutely stellar options for someone who has a sniper mosin. Both mounts as well as a PE mount base can be purchased from "Accumounts" and are well worth the investment.
This is getting long... there is also a rail system that mounts by removing the entire sight from the barrel, leaving only the small dovetail that the sight mounts to the barrel on. This rail mounts to the dovetail and is held in place by a clamping system, it works pretty darn good but is a lot more involved to install. Once installed it is completely solid and absolutely will not move and it is also a reversible installation that can be taken back to original configuration (a lot more of an involved process)

Hey Big Sam! Loving the channel and your passion for the Mosin Nagant rifle. Where would you recommend shopping for a PU sniper in 2022 if there aren't really any good local shops for milsurp? Gun shows seem increasingly useless these days. Seems like my only option is to overpay by a few hundred dollars for one of the small handful on Gun Broker at any given time. Any tips?

Hey big Sam I recently found a Finnish m39 that is completely original but the bolt handle is bent down not like a pu sniper bolt but I was wondering g if you could take a look at it and how I could send it to you?
