I really enjoyed this, You both play well together. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. I hope you find some of the planetary encounters before you head for space.
Thanks man, glad to hear it! :) Yeah, that's the plan, try out some of these planetary encounters first. It's something the game has been missing for so long.
Thanks for telling me man, that's great to hear! Yeah the episode won't come out until tomorrow. RL and scheduling mean that for the moment, this may not come out every 7 days. The current plan is 7-10 days between episodes until things calm down.
Lol. Yeah, so glad to not have Reavers this time. Man. This is pretty much a vanilla play-through. There are a couple of QOL mods installed, but that's it. Nice to hear you've been enjoying FFH. I'd like to think I've gotten better at editing since I started. I still have so much to learn.
I just had to sub and like and follow this. its so awesome that with the new update people are all coming in to doing series like this, but already i like the puns. yeah I've been playing solo so i can get use to all the new things. Will keep an eye out for new episodes
That's awesome man, thanks for the sub! I very much want to get into the new game encounters and what not, but I'm going to try not to give myself any spoilers before I encounter them in the series here. :)
Very enjoyable episode and great progress. It's really fun to watch people play the game who have some experience. Side note : Sorry newbie creators, I'm not jaded but watching you flail around isn't really that entertaining to me. These guys know how to play. Take some notes. Pretty Please take some notes.
Thanks man, I really appreciate that! Mozo and I do have a few hours in the game, but if you've got a tip, or a better/different way of doing things, please share. I feel like I'll never really learn all the "tricks of the trade".
@@toroidaldevil9303 Since you asked so nicely, and you asked in the first place. Sure. I can tell you a few things that I always do earlier than later that move things along much faster, better, and with less effort. Generally, the 'more robust results vs effort and time' rule is how I think about doing things these days. I don't however try to 'speed run'. 1. Install Isy's inventory manager script and learn how to use all of it. Set up autocrafting and get an LCD for that setup and set target production quotas for all the usual suspect components so you don't end up running out, now you don't need to add stuff to the build queue at all, just pull them from build planner and it makes more, without any bickering. :-P As you progress, you can add and increase the target quota amounts. Don't add too much at first, things that need rarer ores can wait until you have plenty of those. 2. *Install Automatic LCD2 script and get a few good screens setup to show power info, battery status, damage, ammo levels and ingot and ore levels. Now you can tell at a glance when you're low on anything and can go get it before you're out. 3. Use blueprints as much as possible. For mid to larger ships, turn off Isy's and turn on Projector to Assembler script and build every single part before you weld the first block. I usually have a projector in the middle of the base on the floor to project pre-fab base parts, LCD display wall, refinery,h2,assembler line, defense towers, etc. A ship printer is usually the first thing I build after the big refinery and the first things I print are a welding ship and a fighter drone. Use show next buildable block mode, it's so much easier to use a welding ship 4. Build a welding ship early as possible and use it instead of hand mining. Use container quotas (The Ignore Special name tag on the container and edit it's custom data ) on the cargo containers in it to get it to automatically pull the components you need when you dock up. Build welders next to big blocks so you don't need to hand weld them at all, leave them there for critical infrastructure if you can spare the pcu. Pro tip : you can place blocks from the cockpit of the welder, so DO.THAT vs jet packing and refilling bottles, running out of o2 and power all.the.time. You are welcome 😀 5. Get SOME defenses up fast, and weld up scaffolding with the welder. This also lets you build towers several blocks thick just as easily as a single block, these are much more robust. Setting defense turrets some distance away from your production areas around the base keeps that area much safer as they tend to attack the guns and decoys first. If you have MES and lots of foes installed, building or moving the production facility under a layer of rock at least 6 blocks deep is a very good idea. Take of these as you please. You're under no obligation to do any of them. Enjoy :-D
@@toroidaldevil9303 Sure, I'd be glad to. The general rule I go by is more preparation produces far more with far less effort. Feel free to use these tips, or not, enjoy! 1.Install Isy's Inventory, read the whole guide, and get autocrafting component quotas working with the LCD named autocrafting just pull components and build. Use ignore special tags on certain ship cargo containers and edit their custom data to autofill them with what you need, ie, ammo, and welding components autoload when docked. Sorters can't do this without complex piping and can't count. The only thing they are good for is building ejectors. Side tip : Eject your gravel. 2. Install Automatic LCDs 2 and set up displays for all resources and detailed power , damage stats. 3. Build a ship printer early and print a welding ship and use that vs hand welding and placing. Place blocks from the cockpit vs manually, this lets you build thicker more robust towers and structures even more quickly than a single block tower without running out of bottles, juice or power. Many only use it for large areas, but it so much easier to use as the main way to build as soon as it's available. Maybe we are being dwarfish in this respect as well. I know I was for years. Also, critical components can get a permanent dedicated welder if you can spare the PCU and are far easier to build than most larger blocks by hand, even batteries. Increase quotas to accommodate repairing them too. My small welding/grinding bike is my main ride. 4. Use blue prints for as much as you possibly can, use show next buildable block mode as it's just easier not to miss anything. Projection to assembler script is handy to make sure you have everything for a large ship before you start welding it, you may need to turn off the inventory script for a bit though. 5. If you have lots of enemies, get a rock roof about 6 blocks thick put the guns out on the perimeter vs above the squishy stuff. 6. Install med bays by entrances with a special cargo with hand guns, ammo, tools and bottles.
@@toroidaldevil9303 Well, tried to reply twice and it keeps getting lost. Best tip - build a small welding ship and use it to both place and weld blocks instead of a suit. Saves lots of trips and you'll build thicker and stronger stuff because it's so much less work. Second tip : Isy's inventory autocrafting and ignore special tags make things easy to skip adding blocks to the build queue and get specific counts of items into the right containers. Sorters are silly things for almost every task.
Thanks man, those are some great tips! I think maybe in EP3, we'll try to setup the auto LCD. Not sure if we'll use Issy's or not, I like messing with sorters... In Episode 2 it might have been a good idea to build a little block placement ship. I got pretty fed up with running out of H2. I think it happened like 20 times. lol.
I'll take that as a compliment. I look like I need more of a challenge. :) I don't mind the no jetpacks. Spent a lot of time on Omicron. This is a mostly vanilla playthrough. Just some Qol mods.

I've been watching your Far from home series every time the dwarves started singing in my mind Im hearing the Reaver notification

Thank you sir! Glad to have you aboard. :)
Wow i didn't realise i laughed so much !
Well... I tried to make it look like you were enjoying playing with me.
Hey do you want an extra set of hands.... Mozo you blend in with your surroundings
Yeah, he's too green!
Thanks for the offer man, maybe later on in the play-through, we'll have to see how things go. :)

Major Fail? I raise you Colonel Calamity! I can idiot with the best of 'em fella!
Yeah... didn't want to haul all that stone about. "Colonel Calamity". Yep you'd probably fit right in.
you should have put no jet packs on so you can have a little more of a challenge, then put them on again in space.

What's the mod name of the inventory items having colored images?
