Love your 3 minute talks on the real life of being a Realtor!!
awesome comment! Best of luck and thank you!
Great info. Be safe driving!
I am studying to be a real estate agent in Texas this July. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these videos. You have given me a lot to think about.
Nice job
so good to have a real real estate agent giving info.
AMEN :) I tell my clients, you want one chief to advise you in real estate and that person needs to be an experienced FULL TIME agent. You're right there are WAY to many part timers and dabblers that really don't have the expertise to properly advise clients.
Totally makes sense.
Great comment, but obviously having a pilots license and having a real estate license are totally different. Yes, you are a pilot. However, just because you have a real estate license doesnt mean you know what you are doing. You cannot compare the 2 because they are completely different. Great point though...thanks for the post!
Good stuff Jessica, tell it like it is =)
Great video. I'm not sure what the requirements are for getting a license in NC, but I'm in AZ and 90 hours of general topics that cover the gamut of real estate will not make you a competent agent. That has to be the beginning of your education, not the end. Thanks for setting the record straight!
I agree with you.
Hi,
I am a Realtor In Las Vegas and I say that because I am actively marketing and selling homes, not because it is the only thing I do. I do hold down a full time job outside of real estate that provides me a steady pay check and benefits. I hope by writing this to one help you in your marketing, as you are doing a great job, and to also help change your point of view that an active Realtor may have another full time job.
You can disagree but you're off on this one. The law is not nearly as dynamic as the real estate market. Laws for the most part don't change and when they do it happens every several years per sector. The real estate market changes every quarter, sometimes weekly with values fluctuating and new listings popping up every single day. Totally different.
It's too easy to get a Real Estate license and to park it with a broker. They sell 2 or 3 houses a year and they feel that makes them a Realtor... Give people the do this full time (70 hours a week) a bad name! Love your videos!
Agree!!!!!
Have to agree and disagree with you. But yes everyone seems to have a RE license but not a driver license:)
GREAT point. So, as a follow up, any tips on weeding out the wannabes from the real "full-timers" ?
well! this was hurtful...
Not everyone can start full-time. Real Estate agents get a bad rap from unethical practices and slimy agents. Also badmouthing the public and other agents also affirms the notion that RE agents are mostly bad people.
I totally get the point of what this video is trying to illustrate about Realtors who have other employment. I definitely agree that SOME part-time agents don't take the time to really know their market or even keep up with changes within the industry. My only issue with this is that you generalize, and that is never good to do. Just like you have some less than stellar performing part-time Realtors, you also have some supposed full-time Realtors who are pretty incompetent in their field.
There should be a law that to maintain your R/E Lic,, there should be an yearly FEE of at least $ 500.
You have to do post education and yearly credits to go towards maintaining your license. Also, for the actual license you pay a fee to renew through the state. :) I guess some people keep up with all that to have something to fall back on.
So..So..True. I was licensed in Texas before the crash in the mid 80's. Getting a license there was hard. Classes had be taken thru a university or college with a pass or fail, and the State exam was 500 questions long. Here in Washington it's a joke, and they just passed a law, now everyone with a real estate license is now called a broker.
So do you ever get out of the car? or just ride around all day, talking on cam....but dont stop, cause this entertaining.~~~~
Did you get your license?
If the person is working part-time as a real estate agent and selling - yes they are a real estate agent. Some agents make more money part time than you do full-time..riding around making videos and memorizing statistics. LOL...Really. Real Estate is about relationships and SELLING. Good Night.
Genti, let's not loose her point in semantics. If you needed a heart transplant would you want a doctor that performs surgery every week or one that earned his credentials 30 years ago and has not been in an operating room in all that time?
So you never.. I mean never talked on the phone wile driving?
What? You never talk to people in the car when you're driving? Or look at them when you do? It must suck being in the car with you on a long trip.
GOD BLESS YOU, You are so right on this topic.. ( its tough being a ACTUAL R/E agt.. 9 of 10 drop out)
Your videos are good...however with you driving, everything seems rushed! Slow down!!!
I usually like your videos, but I have to disagree with you on this one.
I studied law and I passed the bar exam, I'm a lawyer, just like that. Whether I practice or not, that's different, I may not need to practice for many reasons, but you can't deny my education, my degree. If you studied medicine and don't practice because you find real estate more fulfilling, once you have gone through all the steps and finished your residency year, you're an M.D.
Jaja. Everyone on this video is so scared of her driving and talking! Lol. Welcome to 2016 - where everyone does that regardless of what's going on around them. Humans have adapted but I don't understand how you didn't get the memo. Save the comment section for questions about RE or such. Great video and I agree with you.
Haha your comment just made me laugh. Why are you trying to bash on Jessica Edwards like she did not make a clear point? To be considered a serious real estate realtor like Jessica Edwards it means that she is full-time and is above all the part-time agents who dont keep up with the Market. Long term business people are more successful than short-term agents. Also, to make you shut up, in any business a network of people equal how much money ur making. Part-time agent = small network=low cash :D
Jesus how about you stay away from good advice entirely. If you really want to succeed at anything you have to immerse yourself in it, everyone knows that. If you have to work 2 jobs your first year thats FINE but why would you tell people you flip burgers if you really want to promote yourself in Real Estate? Thats not really a question because I dont need you to reply. We all work hard at what we do, stop feeling sorry for yourself. If youre struggling, that THOUGHT will keep you there.
You so got hung up on...."You don't know Marketing"...lol
You may have the credentials, but not the experience, and that's what she is stating. But I can tell you're a lawyer....you're disagreeing over the minutiae. :)
Theres some pretty weird and stupid people on here with outdated opinions and anger issues.
you are very beautiful.
Are you crazy... you are driving and doing a video... Please don't do this!
+Anne Harris
Hands free for both camera and phone.
Do you ever talk to people in your car while you drive? This is no different.
+beegee22 Sorry but I have to differ, as I always keep my eyes on the road.. you seem to be looking into the camera while driving, when your eyes should be on the road.

You aren't paying attention while you write. I am not the person in the video. Your eyes should be able to see that. ;-)
+beegee22 well the person in the video is crazy, if this was in Australia she would be charged and license taken away.
did you have to be in the car to make this video.. why dont u pull over lol
Like a chick that's just hatched it hasn't fledged!
STOP MAKING VIDEOS DURING DRIVING!
sounds like a poor hater😘
