Thanks to seeing this video 6 years ago I fell in love with this strange, obscure unit. The bass tones it produces are sick. Crazy sub bass that will make you crap in your pants. Layer a few channels and you get incredibly punchy kicks and snares. Of course it does disco toms perfectly, as well as the snappy little conga type pops as heard in this video thanks to the steep rolloff curve of the resonant analog filters. Everything about this thing is lovely, from the black metal chassis with the Art Deco font, to the strange, obscure sounds it produces. Upon playing the Marsh, one is instantly transported to Cold War-era Soviet Russia circa 1981. It's a guaranteed head turner, it sounds like nothing else. It is the closest thing to the drumsynth Kraftwerk used during their Tanzmusik-Autobahn period I've found. Watch any old Kraftwerk video from 1973-1975 and listen to those raspy, analog highs and snappy little pops that serve as snares. The Marsh can recreate all of those sounds perfectly.
Perhaps the Kraftwek secretly used this now vintage Soviet drum machine and if they did it was the genius move as it had made the Kraftwek music incredibly oryginal piece of creative work, which is a thing which brings them a worldwide fame?
it hasn't MIDI, just 6 inputs for drum triggers, but I trigged it by six audio outputs from audio card, loud audio impulse also works as trigger for many drum modules, I used short kik sample

Fantastic demo song. Love this Soviet drum machine.
great demo and sounds!
Very nice and good sounding machine!
really rate this, seriously decent jam. would love an MP3 please!
bloody great!
this thing sounds mental! Wish I didn't blow all my money on gear for the year.
did you sequence this from your computer? was this entire jam made over one single sequence? love it
siiiiiiiiq!
WHOA
Are these heavy to move around? The price on them isn't to bad, I kinda like the sound alot.
Brilliant demo. It sounds awesome. I wonder how much one of these would cost?.
usually I sold it for $300-350
Wow. That's a good price for a fully analogue drum machine with separate out puts and tune-able drums. :)
encore!
i need this russian girl in my life
Could you also trigger this drum synth by using gate signals???
Sure, demo recorded using this method
@@antistatic81 Thank you for your answer...it's an amazing machine, did you really sell it???
@@Lalaland.001 sold it many years ago, used it in few tracks and sold.
how does it compare to the brilliant Formanta UDS?
Formanta has similar sound, but sounds softer. Marsh is more punchy
@@antistatic81 wow spasibo!! I thought it was he other way round so cool Ill get one now :) amazing demo well done
