Dude, you're a beast! Thanks for the vid, I love Chon. I grew up listening to mostly metal while my dad was constantly listening to Jazz, and fusion bands like Weather Report etc around the house. Chon kinda meets somewhere in the middle for me and same with some other bands like Plini. The future of music seems bright!
Bro your lines are always so super bouncy; it complements CHON's style so well. I'm continually inspired to whip out my bass and practice my major scale everyday thanks to you. It's like taking your vitamins.
This is so sick! I love how you were mixed higher on this album and even then there's so much sick stuff on bass I couldn't pick out before. I don't mean to tell Anthony Crawford how to play music (lol as if I could), but when he explains which scale degrees go in the key of B major, it's easier to understand the accidentals in that progression as sharps (E, F#, D#, G#) than naming two different scale degrees with the same letter (like E and Eb). So the B major scale would be B, C#, D#, E, F#, G#, A#. For anyone that isn't familiar, I hope that helps it make more sense!
Yes I see your point. That is why I said to make sure the viewer knows the scales first. It would be easier to understand. But I could get more in depth in future videos on scales. Thanks for watching.
What I love about your playing is you utilize the instrument to its fullest potential (all strings and areas of the neck are used frequently). I wish to do the same in the future.
i tried to figure this out 2 months ago especially the tapping part and didn’t really get it so im really happy to find this now , your writing inspires me so much and im really grateful for these types of videos , keep it up man you’re amazing!
I love that you're being more active on UA-cam. One of these days I'd love to know your approach to Allan Holdsworth's music, soloing in particular. What do you play over his chords?
It would be so Nice and instructive ! I saw you in Paris at the New Morning...Allan (RIP) was not in the best day, but the music is so stunning !!! I'm waiting for your testimony.
Christ sakes lol i just learned about a month ago that you are the bassist behind this album. Chon is top 3 bands for me maybe top 2 and i dont know how to feel about it all. Cheated and super amped at the same time. You are a class act and Im so happy to have learned about you through Chon! You and Brian should just be the permanent rhythm section honestly. Thought it was Esiah and Nate this whole time. They are dope, but shit. Idk how to feel. Still fresh for me lol outstanding.
Anthony...I'm a big Chon fan...have all their stuff on vinyl...and I must say, you're killin it man! Great job! Hope you mess with "Pitch Dark"...peace
You make the best lessons man. You explain things really well, and I learn a ton from these videos. Keep up the amazing content man! I am really looking forward to more videos like this!
Stellar stuff as always! I have to say I'd be listening to Chon much more if the bass was more present in the mix. Your tone in those playthroughs is fantastic and imho better than what is on the record. And thank you for the insights as well!
Thanks so much for watching the video. Yes people have told me that the bass is too low. So hopefully the playthrough videos give people more insight of the bass lines.
Hey Anthony, i see you improvise a lot in your play throughs, is it the same when your recording chon songs? I mean do you improvise when recording or you write it previosly?
I always improvise when I'm recording Chon songs. Even though the music has structure and certain things that we all play together, I still improvise when we are not playing the same lines and certain licks together. I basically just go in the studio and play what ever and we just keep the stuff that works and delete the stuff we don't like. LOL.
Yeah we want more lol. Hey do whatever you want bruh. You give me a goal to go for. And I started playin probably before you were born. My point is . People need to stop being entitled
Hi Anthony! I was trying to learn the line for the song and apparently its a bit different from what you are playing here? Am I deaf or are you changing parts in here ? Thanks :)
Thanks everyone for watching. Next week I will upload a video explaining my tuning.
Can't wait, ive been trying drop A and was wondering how you navigate down a whole step
Please do lesson on how you play scales. Thanks

There aren't many people in the world who can write and play bass lines like this. Amazing bro
Bro your lines are always so super bouncy; it complements CHON's style so well. I'm continually inspired to whip out my bass and practice my major scale everyday thanks to you. It's like taking your vitamins.

Thanks so much bro. I try to utilize everything within context of the music. I just keep my imagination going. lol

@@acebass123 awesome i love 'If' !!

I think this is the best cover of this song.
Dude he literally plays on the album
I'd love to hear Allan play some crazy stuff over this. Next life.
That would have been amazing if that would have happened.
This is actually unreal. You can explain it, but that doesn't change it!
these are great man, would totally love to hear a “Peace” play through
Thanks man. I may do Peace in a future video.
Love it. More Chon!!
Beautiful brod.
Thanks for watching.
As always, great tutorial, Anthony! Any chance you'll show us how to play the tapping solo from your live show with Chon? =P

hey anthony, i got a question, ¿how should i prepare my hands before playing or before a show?
🔥🔥🔥

I don’t mean to be rude, but I thought Esiah Camarena was the bassist for Chon now. Did that change or am I remembering wrong?
Oh anthony recorded all the bass on homey and the self titled, esiah is the touring bass player
Yes Esiah plays the live show. I record the albums.
TOP
Thank you
damn!!
single dislike is esiah camarena trying to play this
