I had Directv Stream, which was bundled with my AT&T fiber internet, when I switched from Atlantic Broadband internet (now seabreeze) and Dish TV. My first year pricing was great for the Directv Stream, about $82-85 a month. However, the 2 year contract stipulated a $40 increase, plus there was a yearly increase of about $10, making it $132 the whole 2nd year. For me, this was too much because that is not including internet which was another $55-75 for Gigabit fiber. That also started lower and went up over the 2 years. When my 2 year contract was up, I bought an over the air (OTA) antenna. I spent around $100 for that and bought a Tablo Quad Tuner DVR, a seperate 2 TB laptop HDD for about $250 and $50 upgrade fee for Tablo DVR/guide for a year. I can watch those OTA channels on any TV or computer monitor in the house at no extra costs, so long as you have a streaming device like Firestick or Roku or computer. I already had 2 Firesticks, a 4k and a 4k Max and bought another 4k Max for $35. My picture quality with the Tablo was better than the picture quality with ATT TV/Directv Stream box. Cloud storage doesn't mean shit if you frequently get playback errors watching recordings. I was shown error message to try again later to access this content many times over those 2 years and Fox programs glitched a lot and to a lesser degree, CBS. You also do not get an option to adj recording times, which I had with Dish and to a lesser degree, the Tablo. After cancelling for a month AT&T called me to try and get me back and the savings was only $14 per month. I was saving $70 per month using an antenna, even when including new and upgraded apps I started using in December. I'm not giving up $55 in savings to watch ESPN, TNT, TBS, USA and Bally Sports, which are the only channels I'm currently missing with the current setup. I've saved more than I spent in the upfront costs to get local channels with DVR in the 5 months of cutting the cord. The money saved, is all savings from now going forward.
Saving money of quality of service? Direct TV is horrible. First choose an Internet provider based on available bandwidth to get to your TV vendor then you may want to look at options. Will you be getting low quality TV FaceTime who’s doing the streaming? Before making recommendations you should I use some other alternatives.
No they didn't. That is what *OAN* and *Newsmax* _wanted_ you to believe. AT&T added *The First* network (a.k.a. The First TV) to its DirecTV and AT&T channel lineups the same week it dropped Newsmax, essentially replacing Newsmax with another conservative network. OAN and Newsmax were dropped because they were at the end of their respective carriage agreements with AT&T, and each were suddenly demanding a franchise fee to be carried on AT&T's platforms going forward, something that neither had ever demanded before. In March of 2023, Newsmax and AT&T agreed to a multiyear deal, and Newsmax returned to the DirecTV/AT&T channel rosters alongside The First network.
I am glad you did. Stay tuned because direct tv just increased rates for January. Make sure you follow up with them on this and stay tuned to my video on this topic.
Hi I agree with you. I called the loyalty (customer service) of Directv. I was able to retain my discount I received a year ago. I have made this call in the past and have been successful. I would encourage your viewers to do the same thing. Loyalty Department at Directv Satellite.

I’m team UA-cam TV and I love all the channels they provide and now that they are getting NFL Sunday ticket it’s gonna be even better.
I called Direct TV and asked if they offered a senior's discount and they lowered my service by about $20.00 a month.
I think you mean ATT bought DTV , I moved from direct tv sat to ATT Direct TV stream and cut my monthly in half

AT&T dropped Newsmax and OAN for political reasons. Consider alternatives

From one Ken to another… I’m happy that you were able to get your discounts and keep your costs low
This is not the case for all customers. It is system set and the promo comes over in the system
This has worked for me and I would encourage everyone to give this a try.
