So, after successfully printing the coin sorting vault, I started to print this, the main box being first.. and it didn't turn out so well. All of the walls are approximately 1.8mm thick- which for a box of this size is very thin. The back of the box (which printed flat on the bed) feels a bit stronger since it's printed flat and is also connected to another surface on all 4 sides, but the other 4 walls are far too thin. With a .6 nozzle, the walls are three layers thick- two outer walls and a center gap infill layer. I think if this box is 4cm tall, this would be ok- but at over 15cm its not enough mass to support itself. The walls all flex under light pressure with a finger. Unfortunately for me I don't know F360 yet (I've been 3d printing for about a month on a Bambu P1S with great success) so I can't modify the file, but I wish the walls on the box were much thicker- Version 2 of your vault box with lock, the walls are about 6mm thick. I'm afraid to print the other parts right now, as I'm not confident about the box and don't want to waste all of this filament if it's not going to be sturdy once assembled (I'm giving the coin sorter box to my nephew for Xmas, and was planning on giving my niece this box). Any advice @RoccosStuff? Or anyone else?
I just posted an update on printables with a list of parts and links to Amazon. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. The best way to get in touch is to send a direct message on Printables. Good luck!
Thank you for this project, I'm really invested in printing it but for some reason my gears are not running smooth as yours. They won't fit in the main base and they also get too much pression from the other big gears. Any tip to help me printing it better? Thank you!
I need to check the model on my computer, so I will post an update on Printables tonight. Thanks for the question, I didn't realize that info wasn't posted.
The dowels are actually a mix of 5mmx20mm and 5mmx25mm dowels. I just posted the details to Printables, including dimensions for the bearing and links to Amazon. Send me a direct message on Printables if you have any specific questions. Best of luck! And thanks for watching!!
Thank you@@RoccosStuff! As long as they are 5mm diameter I'm good, since I bought the dowel multi pack you recommended for the coin sorter. I have plenty of 5mm dowels! Excited to pint this now. I posted a make of the coin sorter (minus the sorter) on your Printables page, I'm super happy with how it came out!!
That's a cool project
Thank you!
Nice construction!
Thanks!
That looks great! It would take forever with my old ender 3 😂
Thanks! I've loved the Mk4 so far, if you want to upgrade 🖨

Very nice
Thanks!
cool model! It would be very helpful if you could list the exact parts you need to buy to put it all together
Thanks! I will post an update to Printables tonight with that info.

If I had a whole bag of metal pins, I wouldn't tell anyone, but there would be signs.

Nice work, from where I can get the files???
@RoccosStuff are all of these dowels the same M5 x 30mm size?
