Encounter with a sea turtle in Belize!

I was scuba diving in a coral reef off the coast of Belize, and me and my team encountered a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta). They are distinctive sea turtles for their anatomy and behaviour, and although it's relatively common to see them, it's kinda rare to see them this close. Encountering this beautiful individual reminded me of why it's so important to keep protecting sea turtles, for they have been in the oceans for over 140 million years!
