@Andrew Smith accents are usually hard to pick up for people from Spanish speaking countries, it's not about knowing the grammar or understanding people, accents are something you either pick up or not
@Andrew Smith I'll be honest, I don't watch this show very often, but I do find her likable, "shouting" is part of her culture. Sergio Bocanegra es que lo exagera bastante el acento, y en las entrevistas también. o sea yo creo que si se pone a hablar serie es menos marcado el acento.
I have noticed in books that even English speaking people who are not well educated say learn instead of teach. A boy from the mountains (who unfortunately couldn't read yet, even at age 12) asked his teacher "Will you learn me to read iffen you have time after school?" And the teacher said, "Teach me, not learn me. And if, not iffen". I still remember that line. I forgot what book it was from though. That was in elementary school.

Same here, I love it, but it's hard to hear it clearly without earbuds & increased volume. I must remember to bring my earbuds next time I will listen to this.

I've taken foreign languages (Spanish, French, Italian) & the pronunciation is so hard! I wish it wasn't because I love those languages.Vocab is the easiest part of foreign languages. Grammar is easy except for irregular verbs. Pronunciation would get me an F minus though. I'd *rather read & write* than *speak* foreign languages. +Djeniffer Lopess unfortunately sometimes I talk like that but I don't do it on purpose hahahah I trying every time to be concentrated but..I'm Colombian/Italian so my mother languages are Spanish and Italian
+nubi vagant i find colombian accent so pretty doe 😄😄
i'm colombian and i don't talk like that
Sergio Bocanegra es que lo exagera bastante el acento, y en las entrevistas también. o sea yo creo que si se pone a hablar serie es menos marcado el acento.
"You want me to learn you English"😂😂
+Jelena Lukic I almost cried at that point ;)
I have noticed in books that even English speaking people who are not well educated say learn instead of teach. A boy from the mountains (who unfortunately couldn't read yet, even at age 12) asked his teacher "Will you learn me to read iffen you have time after school?" And the teacher said, "Teach me, not learn me. And if, not iffen". I still remember that line. I forgot what book it was from though. That was in elementary school.
Sofia is so funny her accent is amazing. I love her and her personality.
She cracks me up maximus (Latin), mucho (Spanish), beaucoup (French), molto (Italian).
I wish my mouth didn't hurt so much when I laugh. (Is laughter supposed to cause mouth pain? That's strange. Est novis, es extrano, est etrange, e strano.)
That last scene kills me everytime.
so proud to be latina, this accent is just lovely...
She's sounds like family
i love her accent
Si!
Lol I understand what you are saying anyway...mines is so so too.
I love her accent but I really struggled understanding what the hell she was talking about in a lot of these without the episode context.
Same here, I love it, but it's hard to hear it clearly without earbuds & increased volume. I must remember to bring my earbuds next time I will listen to this.
such a beautifully written character, played by such a talented actor! Respect, love and admiration... Woman you have made me laugh more than anyone else!
At least she is funny while speaking. English speakers I have met 'trying' to speak Spanish sounds more pathetic and depressing than funny to me
Give them credit for trying. Lighten up.
@@tperk Is pretty hard to lighten up when you see so many Americans making fun or being annoyed of those of us who don't speak English correctly because it is not our native language.
@@sfappetrupavelandrei Americans aren't the only ones who's native tongue is English.
I can imagine Gloria saying "Ayyy Claire your accent sound muy estupida!" And I would say "si! Es dificil to pronounce properly in foreign languages!!!!! But it (my accent) also sounds tres stupide in French & molto stupida in Italian. Gimme a piece of paper & I'll write everything instead of speaking." BTW, I like to read multilingual instruction manuals.
shelly That’s the white Americans sis
I love Sofia she is a proud latina that stayd true to her culture and race, i understand everything she says.
Latino/a isn't a race !
Latino is an ethnicity not a race
I hope she never masters English. It's perfect just the way it is right now!
+The Nyctophilia if you look some of the personal videos or backstage, she actually practice through Siri whethee Siri actually understands her or not 😂
I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She just makes the show ahaa
SHUT UP! YOU CANT BEACH ALL DAY CUZ YOUR NOT AT THE BEACH ALL DAY!! That had me rewind the part again cuz that's what made me laugh cD
xD*
Ps: no edit button on ipad
That's another one of my faves. My fave is "Look, Luke!" BTW will a person who is a "beach" be less "beachy" at the beach?
"Your head is running water" love her.
This had me on the floor laughing so hard 2:05 Literally in tears right now!!! 🤣🤣🤣
"parrot? What parrot?"
JAY
JAY
JAY
Yeah I’m with Gloria, as a person who speaks multiple languages I’m bound to mispronounce words in said languages quite often. Constructive criticism is always welcomed, but make fun of me, especially in my home, I’ll kindly ask you to screw off. Lol 😂
1:41-1:53 I laughed so hard when she told Luke to look!!! LOL
+Kevron Harris LOL I speak a quite decent English (8 in the IELTS) and find impossible to hear the difference between Luke and look, let alone to pronounce it. I tell you, that is one of the hard ones!
jacac Thanks for the info! I love Sofia Vergara on Modern Family, but she makes me laugh!!!
Joe mama
That's the best one!
@@claireakaforestgreenorgang9506 The "Jay!!" one was also my fave!!
she is such a beautiful human being ... i remember the first word people told told me i was mispronouncing ...yellow ... which i used to pronounce jell-o xD
I see what you did there
2:13-2:20 i love those parts
Her accent is her accent just like Arnold Schwarzenegger has his accent. They are iconics. I want them to talk to each other lol 😂
As a Colombian I literally watch the hole series just because of her ✨
she's the reason why i'm gonna watch this series :)
“What parrot?”
“Jayyyy!”😂😂😂
How you say In english "triquiii"?
-Helicopter lol
+Rebecca Bermúdez takatakatakataka! lol
That joke makes no sense, helicopter is an international word
CodeNameZ she just forgot the word, that all.
If she hadn't heard it before in English she wouldn't have known. I once asked someone the German word for toaster because I'd never heard anyone use it before, and got told it's Toaster...
Looool "But hanging down side up is not gonna help you" Hahahahhahah I cant stop laughing
"Don't you give me an ultomato"
Mmmmm tomato
"You used the airbunnies!" Ha, love Gloria.
"How do you say in english kattakattakattakatta ?"
"Helicopeter" Loooooool
I LOVE it when she tells them off!
"Feel" "Phil" lol
My parents are both immigrants from foreign countries. My mom has a super heavy accent and mispronounces things all the time. She taught herself English. My friends and I always make fun of her for her mispronounciations. She gets so offended but it's so cute. Like we're not putting her down. It's just cute. When I go to Greece they get to make fun of my American accent all the time
I would never make fun of my moms mispronouncing with my friends.
I do it with my brother, and my mom loves it 😂
+BeautyLilya well it's just funny. And when I go to Greece everybody makes fun of me
Actually people speaking Greek in an American accent is considered somewhat charming and cute. There was this pop singer some years ago called Kalomira, she made a career out of it.
I laugh at others' mispronunciations if I know them well enough for them to know I'm not being mean by laughing. However, I mispronounce so many things I don't like to *speak* foreign languages, I like to *read* them, *write* them, & *listen to others speak* them. Pronunciation is so stressfully hard for me it makes my brain melt. Cabeza derretida, tete fondue, testa fusa.
Jajaja in my school everybody talk english like gloria. Im from spain
si los alumnos españoles hablaran así el ingles seria un logro
Mi instituto es bilingüe, my high school is bilingual so many of us speak even better than Gloria :)
aaaamigo jajajajaj, so your school doesn't show real spanish scene.
Jajaja lo sé en el insty de mi pueblo no hacia una mierda y cuando me toco por sorteo ese instituto mi madre estaba como si le hubiera tocado el gordo :)
I wish they kept her bloopers, ones when she would stumble through words because that makes it authentic
I died at "I'm driving the bike". Hahahaha
OMG I've always thought "it's a doggie dog world" lol
***** I teach English and I had a French student, in a very very serious conversation, say, "Well, it's a doggy dog world." Everyone laughed, but she had a great attitude so she laughed too... and she will NEVER forget that phrase.
DayZd and Reviewd lol well sometimes it takes an embarrassing situation to make you learn a lesson that u never forget. Believe me I know :P
I'm with Gloria....I cannot speak another language and I think her English is rather well.........
*is rather good
irony
Lol
@bdeuce11 fuck you scumbag
That’s literally my mom she’s from DR so ofc English is her second language she says things weird she used to call block bustser “black busters” or Instead of pronouncing Salmon like “Samon” she says “Salmon” with the L
Souds like ghosts busters
Omg is without the L?
Witterfordイカリ I mean you spell it Salmon but it’s pronounced “Samon” the L is silent
@@Testsubjex but why I love the L :'(
Witterfordイカリ I mean that’s just how it’s pronounced lol 😂
Everyone out of my house xDDDD
I actually used the word "sended" in an essay cos she was in my head
"OK ENOUGH! YOU TRY TO SPEAK IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE. EVERYBODY - OUT OF MY HOUSE"
She was absolutely right.
I promise there is no modern family without Gloria Delgado 🤣🤣🤣🤣
she's my favorite character. :)
Gloria’s broken English is better than my fluent English.
don't you give me an ol' tomato!
She is truly awesome
I love hearing her talk. She's awesome :)
AND A GARGOL IS A GARGOL !!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!! XD
Ay! I get it "Luke" sounds like "look"! LOL I can't stop laughing xD
-Look
-at what?
- ahhh! :P, I get it "Luke" sounds like "look" xD I almost die of laugh
@@davidarzola7341 So did I. My mouth certainly hurt from laughing so hard.
Air bunnies and the baby cheeses are my favorite.
I love her and her Many Many Many Mispronunciations XD....
MissSmilerbelieber (translation) yeah, her brains are mixed up like tapioca on a helicopters blade, but the way she talks what's the difference?
tom wright I said that the fact that she doesn't know how to say helicopter in english doesn't make sense because it's easy. In Spanish it's "helicóptero" and in english it's "helicopter", so there isn't a big difference when you translate it :)
MissSmilerbelieber
"YES IM DRIVING THE BIKE!" haha
she is just SO endeering, beautiful and adorable , I love gloria
Honestly this show is so underrated the characters are just so well written 😂😂
Wait she said "he's persnickety." That's really funny, it's 100% correct. haha
"the beaver. they build dams all over this country, so there is no flood.it's the beaverazation of the Americas" Lol hahahha so funny. I love how she talks.
she is funny every where she goes. I will love her till i die.
thank you so much :)
"Really Manny do you want me to learn you English?"
Dead😂😂😂
"How do you say in english tktktktktktktktktk"
*Helicopter*
The coal digger one wasn’t Gloria’s mispronunciation, it was Luke’s. He blurted out at the family dinner that his mum had said Gloria was a “coal digger” and that was what Gloria was replying to.
She is so amazing!!!
