How long will archaeologists take to investigate every square centimeter without destroying anything significant to that era's history? Archaeologists have difficult jobs. The Silk Road was a very safe trading route, and I'm sure the choppy waters were killing this ship. I am really excited to attend this museum and see what artifacts they have from that era! :)
Another wonderful trip for Jason The Jones Beside food and technologies, historical/archealogical sites will be another great theme to be explored! It's a very interesting and instructive video As a Chinese overseas I am watching Jason's video to learn more about our modern China Thanks Jason What a great person you are 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Something tells me that this must have been an incredibly complex challenge involving numerous very gifted experts. With something so fragile and precious and huge, they would have needed scientists and engineers to scan and model the craft and then come up with some very sophisticated system for supporting and lifting the delicate structure. But for China, this is a piece of cake.
I was there in 2017 and there wasn't a frame around it yet. You could see the whole top deck and the people working increadably careful (slow) that they're still here today!!! It looks like they've moved down 2-3meters thou. I'd like to visit again.... Maybe in 2027 😂 I hope it's easier to get to now. It took me like six hours on the minibus from Guangzhou back then.
i saw a video about these archaeologist, that they have this job security since they have to do it so slow, and it is for the archaelogist in qin terracotta site. I think is is same for all archaelogist in china.
@@nezhanaohai Mary Rose was very overloaded, carrying 700 rather than the 400 crew it was built to carry. It was very embarrassing for King Henry to see his flag ship capsized.
❤❤❤The ship is 5,000 tonnes but when submerged in water, it weight is 5,000 tonnes minus the weight of sea water that it displaces and so is much much lighter. As such the salvage ship should have no problem in lifting it and dragging it to port while fully or partially submerged. 😂
Thanks , Jason for showing us the discovery of the sunken Sung ship. It is so amazing! You has also showed us the Chinese's efforts and contrabutions to our Green Atmosphere!
This sunken ship is just like a time capsule of China in the past. This particular sunken ship was just one of the many ships exporting the products made in Sung and Tang dynasties. Just wonder for those ships that had sailed to their respective destinations successfully, what happened to the goods they had shipped? Each and every piece of them must worth millions of dollars now.
Welcome to my hometown, the ship and the museum has been built for over a decade, yet it is still under excavation. Additionally, if you go to the restaurants in the local town, seafood will be cheaper and fresh, so you should try it out.
In August of 1987, the Maritime Exploration and Recoveries PLC, a British maritime salvage company, got permission from the Chinese government to search for the Rijnsburg, a Dutch merchant ship that sank during a typhoon in 1772. Roving the waters off the southeast coast of China, the search team did find a ship, but not the one they had expected.😅Sadly, these Brits didn't get anything.
