Glad you visited Jinan at last. My wife's family lives there and we've been going every year since 2002. Daming Lake is good and there's a good restaurant where you can get Kung Po chicken-cheaper than a coffee! Plus Baotu Springs and Thousand Bhudda mountain. Plus Hero Mountain Park and New World Market.

Jason, in Malaysia, we double boiled the Bird Nest with some rock sugar and not so thick like the one you took. Bird nest is 寒, don't add in 西洋参 to double boil it. 寒 +寒, my husband often cough and cough after taking it for the 2nd or 3rd day. After that I changed it to Ginseng, taught by a Chinese Health Program, since then he has no problem with taking the bird nest. He often take it daily for weeks.

When I had birds nest soup years ago, it had chicken in it (like having chicken soup) and the birds nest saliva did not have any taste but gave texture like a soft white fungus. They must have made the hamburger sliders because they knew you would be there!

I never consumed bird saliva this way! In a bottle? Maybe it’s a regional thing but we usually have in a kind of sweetened dessert soup. It’s very nice! With regards to texture I would say if you can drink Boba tea you can also consume bird saliva
@@scy3894 agreed but i think the bottle packaging is more of a convenience for busy lifestyles, just put the thing in the fridge or warm it up (depends on preference) rather than cooking it and preparing it yourself after a busy day.

It has no taste of its own, you need some extra ingredients to make it taste better. Just like shark-fin or jelly-fish. Sea-cucumber the same. It is all about the texture.
The highest grade bird nest consists of a whole unbroken nest serves in sweet soup. However just the thoughts of the taste/aroma and texture makes me shivers!🤣

Some of the best bird’s nest comes from Sarawak, Malaysia. Supposedly good for health.

In all fairness when I was in Shandong the sky was so polluted. In your video it looks like the Chinese Government cleaned most of that up.
