If ONC thought that was out of the line they wouldn't had accepted it in the first place. Though not encouraged, we can learn how the characters react in this kind of situation. For instance, Jake closes his eyes a lot when he feels hurt. Or how he places one hand on his other arm when he feels sad/guilty. There's lots of neat little details here.
As a Jake fan, IMHO, i think this greetings is fair enough. In my POV : you are just telling your dissapointment towards Jake during episode 10 and I think it's quite understandable (correct me if i'm wrong). Because I do felt a little dissapointed to Jake but I still have faith on him that his character developed (I do hope oddnation cartoons will develop his character. Amen) Speaking of hate greeting, I will also request a "critics greetings" to Tom and it was also due to my dissapointment on him for lying to Jake. Even thought Ellie was a bit harsh with him on the cave episode in season 1, she was right about what she said. Jake isn't a perfect and pure person, but just someone who needs to understand the others around him before thinking about his own problems. Otherwise, he will never grow up as a human.

Jake has been through a lot but why would trauma be Jake's justification for being an asshole to everyone especially Ally and Aiden. They didn't do anything to him. Trauma can be an explanation for character's actions but never justification. I want him to finally get his character development but I think that him winning would be terrible because he doesn't deserve it. He plays the game terribly and has literally no strategy, he is an asshole to literally everyone and his bratty behavior is insufferable. He has to face the consequences of his actions and I don't see how else would he do that besides getting eliminated, because after Ashley's elimination he has nothing to lose. I guess you could argue that Ashley's elimination was the consequence but it's not enough. They're still friends, they just won't see each other for like three weeks, so Jake didn't lose Ashley. Take James for an example: he did some horrible things but still won the season, how is it any different? Because he actually payed for his actions. He was cancelled online, he lost Aiden and all his friends. Yes, in the finale he got it all back but still that must have been really traumatic for him.
