Man didn’t know sonic was so complex. Gonna take a lot of time in training getting comfortable with movement and then learning to apply that in games. Thanks a lot man! Looking forward to the next parts!
this character is actually wayyy too complex and people don't even know the half of it LOL There's a lot more intense and advanced tech I have saved up for future parts of this guide, so stay tuned! And sure, not a problem. Glad you enjoyed it!
I watched this because I wanted to see whether effort was needed to camp. I’m pleasantly surprised by how complex the character is and how well you were able to explain it. Great video 👍
Thank you UR2SLOW for showing me this video. For a while now I've been trying to find out how I can make my Sonic even better through more training but it was getting me no where but when I saw this video, it showed me that theres more potential to Sonic's spindash than I thought so I thank you for showing me that Sonic has so many options out of both spindash and spincharge and because of this I now know how to move around my opponents. Keep up the good work, can't wait to learn more about Sonic in the next part 🔥🔥🔥
Wow I am so surprised by how in depth this guide has been. I have been maining sonic since the earliest days of Brawl and I thought this would be nothing but the basics and hints I have already seen many times before but I Stand very pleasantly corrected. I learned a few thing from this video that I was never completely clear on before. So glad I gave this video a chance; you’ve got a new sub ^_^!!! Hyped for your part thee video, saw in another comment that it will be about exploiting the disadvantage states of the cast, that sounds so, so sick! 😊
Awesome couple of videos. I learned so much. I just recently got back into being a fan of Sonic while listening to some of his soundtracks from Sonic Adventure. Now that his up-air is fixed with this latest patch, I think there’s never been a better time to start learning to main Sonic.
I actually improved right after watching and learning 👍🏾 10/10 guide ngl (Also wanna mention it’s not always safe but his Fsmash can block some ridiculous attacks sometimes)
Anna N It reminds me of Erazor Djinn in Sonic And The Secret Rings. He is calling all the time "blue rat" and Sonic was like, correcting him until the end of the game
Worth mentioning that you can do a charge shot. Charge down B and then hit down tilt to follow offstage without using a jump. It’s a great way to stick to your opponent after you launch them but still be able to recover.
@@Luis-ub9mgthis is an old comment but I think I still know the context.. so let’s say you get knocked off the stage.. instead of just using your jump to recover you can down B to do a little hop in the direction of the stage.. and then that saves your jump which you can then use to recover.. There is all kinds of cool Sonic tech with Down B.. you can even use it to hop across the stage as a mix up. I would check into SuperGirlKels as she has some pretty cool sonic tech videos
12:40 I was like "hey that kinda sounds like the jintendo character from the sakurai designing series" and then i remembered that Its the same guy lol, which i noticed when i watched the first guide (and this guide) but forgot lol
I'm sort of upset that sonic has this playstyle though. The guide is extremely helpful, but i like to rush down my opponents. i know that's not optimal but i want people to know that sonic can be aggressive as well.
Righttt?? THANK YOU. 👌Like he was almost perfect in smash 4 (ESPECIALLY his dair.) I get they wanted him to be more complex but MAN😭 they took that and really RAN 🏃⏪ with it (no pun intended)
partial charge spin dash prob has the same properties of air spin charge to go through projectiles so if it doesnt go in the air cause of full charge prob just loses it
Great video, bu the way, if you do a third video, could you mention which combos work and which combos doesnt in platforms? I sometimes struggle whith them 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Can you talk about spring ride who it works on and who it doesn’t as well as setups? I know it’s not as useful as in Sm4sh but I wanna learn to hit it consistently for my videos
how do you buffer jump for the short spin shot I can't get the hang of it and like you said trying to get the timing right to hit the 1 frame is almost impossible? I'm trying to practice this but idk how to buffer jump
TBH, I wish spindash and spin charge weren't so good. I'd rather have him get better other options and be more of a rushdown character instead of a bait and punish. He'd be more fun to play imo.
I have that same problem, it's because of my pro controller. If you let go of the stick really fast, the stick might bounce a bit to the other side and register it as an input. Try flicking the stick in the stick calibration settings of the Switch, and you might see that it inputs the other way for a split second. Idk how to fix it, but I try to just hold the stick in the direction I'm going.
UR2SLOW So I can only practice it with a friend 😔 There is still in theory that buffered jump after using the double jump but practicing will make it better.
@@jonasisteu actually to practice your spin jump timing on shield you can just use a lvl 9 cpu, it's not 100% consistent but the cpu will shield it most of the time if you just do a raw spindash, i practiced it a lot on bowser because he has his very quick side-B command grab to punish a mistimed spin jump out of shield
I think he's easy to play but very difficult to master. He takes a like of precision in his movement and combos, a lot of knowledge over the character and how he interacts with many characters in many scenarios, and a lot of mental fortitude to keep your composure during a match with how this character forces you to play. You also have to get used to having your moves be dysfunctional and learn how to work with it, lol
As a Sonic main this video has really showed me more things on what options Sonic can do out of Spin Dash, thanks ur2!!!
Same! I Mained sonic as soon as I saw his icon in brawl

Almost every character is super complex once you delve into them.
@@UR2SLOW when will the next part come out?
I initially watched this cause I wanted to time my friends out but his movement is actually super sick
Learning that spin charge can cancel out weak projectiles and keep going opens up a whole new world. I am so glad you showed this.
Also important to note that Spindash short hop is easier to land after you used your double jump.
I watched this because I wanted to see whether effort was needed to camp. I’m pleasantly surprised by how complex the character is and how well you were able to explain it. Great video 👍
Truly glad you covered him, really fun to play him
This was the most helpful guide I had ever seen. Now I know what I need to practice to get better. Thanks!
Glad to hear that!

Its going to be a guide thats mostly revolved around match ups and how to abuse characters in their disadvantage

I can't wait to be hated because Sonic "requires no skill and is a easy boring character". All jokes aside, thanks for making this video ur2!
Lol, this is the video I've always been looking for: tips on how to actually make Sonic do fancy mix ups in spin dash and charge
I have been waiting for this
Thank you so much for this! I’ve learned a lot from this video! 🙏💙
Amazing! As a noob sonic main, this is extremely helpful and awesome. Please keep it up!
This really helped man thank youuuu
Glad to hear that! No problem
This video taught me how to use spin not for attack(but it's actually for attack). I found new sonic's potential.

I am a sonic main can this work with aggressive playstyles
it can! but it also depends on the opponent you are playing against. you need to play to counter their playstyle
After hitting shield with spin dash, how do you jump vertically up? I keep jumping away 😫 excellent guide btw
idk if i missed it but how do you the reverse homing attack with the spin dash
Bruh i need to know the ins and outs of the short hop spindash for shield pressure. Plz bless my soul

That sounds like a controller issue, honestly. It shouldnt be doing that
Name of the background music?
Windy hill zone act 1
i just wanna know how many weeks it took to get that spin dash f-air to be consistent. that timing is ridiculous
It's difficult but I've been playing sonic since smash 4 so it honestly took me like a few minutes of practice lol
I still think Spindash Jump in the Shield is very difficult to do (Timing to avoid Spindash stop right in front of the opponent shield)
You have to just time your jump as you hit shield. It takes practice, but practice will bring improvement!
