What happens when you crash? The ropes are around everyone’s waists how does that work? Is there some sort of quick release? If not that’s crazy.

The skiers hold the ski rope handles behind their backs. If they fall they let go of the handles.

We call that the Aussie wrap up. The rope pulls through the hip area improving balance. When you start to fall release handles and hopefully slide out, pray you don't get the explosion stop.

It's a huge adrenaline rush for three athletes and a machine. It's extreme team racing you can't find in any other sport. It's a family community of racers on an international level. It all just makes for a lot of fun. Almost anyone can do this believe it or not.

i like the slow rough action myself, but yes, over 125ph on a water ski for that long is insane to see

Great to is a Ski Race and not a boat race as we in Australia race in very smooth water on the Murray River and Hawksbury river. good skiers can ski at 100 mph but can they ski at 70 mph in this video.
I only know a hand full of skiers who could do this in Australia eg Wayne Ritchie. from Victoria back in the 80s
