At an intersection in the mall, where most crosswalks are at, its smart to stop and make sure theres no traffic heading from both ways or pedestrians. It's a safety precaution so you should not be penalize for it even if theres no pedestrians
@@nickcrabtree1830 The person behind u doesn't expect you to come to a stop at a crosswalk if there's no pedestrians crossing, but it is best to slow down a little and check both sides before u cross it tho.
Hello, I took the test for the first time on May 14th,2024. I passed. Instead of going to the left like the video states, the instructed me to turn right at the light and then make the next right back into the plaza. Super quick! Super easy. Almost too quick and easy because I don’t see how you can judge someone’s driving ability from driving 1 block. But hey, I’m glad. Don’t be nervous, relax! Stop at stop signs and look before proceeding. Good luck!
Hello I just passed. I will give you my full run down of the test, first you will wait in line and then the examiner will come up to you and ask you for your permit and vehicle info papers. Then they will quiz you on your right turn signal, left turn signal, windshield wiper, 4 way flashers, high beams, low beams, and break lights. Then if you succeed in that you will go for parallel parking. If you need advice I’d say line up the back of your back window with the first cone, turn all the way to the right and reverse until you see 3 cones in your drivers side view mirror, then turn your wheel straight (two times to the left until logo is straight up), continue going straight back until you cover the first cone with your passenger side view mirror, then turn all the way left and reverse until you see yourself parallel with the curb in your passenger side view mirror. If you pass you will go onto the road test, use your turn signal and check for blind spots, then you will drive slowly until you get to the ramp, take a left, and complete the road test, make sure to emphasize you’re looking left and right with your head. 5/25/22: I’m writing this comment because this video helped me so much before taking my drivers test. The course displayed in this video was the exact same one that I went through. Make sure when you were going through the parking lot yield to all the pedestrians even if they are walking without a crosswalk, and be on the lookout for cars backing out of spaces. The experience of this DMV was a lot better than my other testing location. Good luck!
@@bready2078 I think the speed inside the parking lot was around 10mph but obviously if there’s more foot traffic I’d go slower, and I believe the parallel parking spot was around eight feet wide by 25 feet long

I got my license last week at the penndot dmv near me and here’s what was required to do Automatic fail: - Hit the cone while parallel parking - hit the curb while parallel parking - outside of the cones while parallel parking - Stop over the white line when making a stop - Accident Mistakes: - Missing a turn signal - Goin slower or faster than the rate of traffic - not using both hands - going faster than 15mph on the the parking lot - going faster than 25 mph on a school zone My experience: 1 : Parallel parked 2 : Exit the parking lot and stop before the white line at a stop 3: if you can’t see traffic while at a stop, stop first and count to three and move precariously 4 . Hey, so I passed my drivers test. It was insanely easy. I was of course nervous about it, but I kept chill and composed. But I instead went right instead of left and didn’t even drive a mile. I went right back to the plaza. Back to the parking lot, and she said I passed and stuff. So anyone taking it soon, be composed and calm. You all got this, It was my second try btw. Took the test last week and passed literally turned left out of the parking lot, drove down the street then back into the parking lot in another entrance. And those who are wondering yes you can use your vehicles backup camera. And I would recommend going there after hours to practice parallel parking the day before your test. Good luck 🤙
Is the route still the same as this and i heard u had to over emphasize everything. Like checking blind spots and look left and right everytime. Also coming to a complete stop at every stop sign
2/5/22-Same exact route. The examiner gave 5 maneuvers to parallel park and you can use backup cameras. However, everything that we heard up to then was 3 maneuvers. So, I would try to get it in the 3 if possible. Over emphasize the 3 second stops and check blind spots. Good luck!

@@leemathew6043 honestly, it was my son taking the test. We used it as a guide and stayed inside (left of it). If you pull up at the stop sign closer to the right and cut it hard to the left, you shouldn't have a problem making it and not hitting the curb. We practiced this whole route several times. I didn't see him do anything different than what we practiced.

Took the test at the end of July 2019- took a few practice runs based on the video and the test was exactly as depicted. Very helpful! *and be prepared to navigate through and park in the very busy lot at the end*
Hey, on the 4:28 there' a STOP sign there. STOP. Othereise you're failed. No matter if the road is empty or free of trafic cars, and whatsoever. STOP. Then start again. Because during the driving test they brings you on the purpose in situation like this in order to set you up in a trap.
This is okay for the basics but don’t do what this guy did other than taking the same route he did. NEVER go over ANY lines on the road wether it be a stop sign line or red light line. And when they have you come back and after you’ve turn around, when you make them at right where the line is, DO NOT GO OVER IT. Go into the intersection properly and then make the right to turn back into the DMV parking lot. And of course three seconds at every stop sign, and look left right then left even at the stop sign down by the parallel parking area. Oh and when you’re in the final stretch and you go through the break in the parking lot where traffic may intersect, stop even if there isn’t traffic as if it is a stop sign. I know the little details so well because I payed a professional $100 to take me out driving for 6 hours and he did an amazing job at teaching me parallel parking in literally seconds, and he did an amazing job at teaching me all the little shit that WILL cause you to fail. Plus the course is an insurance discount so that helps too.
Edit to the third sentence: And when they have you turn back into to the DMV parking lot after you’ve turned around, DO NOT go over the solid white line on the right side of the road.
JUKENZ Yes, he is referring to that line, but do not completely stop unless it's a red light. Only make the right turn once you enter the intersection. Attempting to swerve to the right and beginning the right turn before the intersection will cause you to hit the white line, and thus automaticaly fail. I know it sounds strange because swerving to the right side of the road before a right turn is usually the norm for regular drivers, but this is not the case for the DMV road test. Hopefully that makes sense
7/26/23: Took the test here today. I was told to make a right out of the lot, instead of a left. I assume they change it up randomly. But if you're told to go right, don't worry. The right route is much shorter than the left route. I couldn't believe how easy/short it was. It was over before I knew it. And I passed. If you're reading this, good luck. ✅👍 (Also, you CAN use your backup camera for parallel parking. That helped me tremendously.)

tiffany cardenas they ask you about your trafficators, wind shield wiper, head lights,and beap the horn, press the break and etc you’re gonna need the insurance of your car and registration. At first they are gonna try to intimidate you with their silence but you just have to act confident and if your confused ask questions they will help you! I just took it today and passed, but depending on the instructor, they will choose which way to go, sometimes its left and other times its right so make sure you guys practice going both ways.
This video has been my life saver. I take mine this week (Friday, July 20th) and I’m so nervous. I drove the course this weekend and it’s very easy, I just have to keep my nerves at bay and not make little mistakes. I hope everyone taking this soon/in the future passes! I failed the first time, was way too nervous and I jumped the curb pulling out of the parallel parking space. Was lucky enough to grab an appointment today and I passed!
Miguel ARRIAGA take your time. Don’t overthink it. Make sure you know the basics. Break lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, headlights & high beams. When they get in the car don’t start driving until their seat belt is buckled. When you parallel park you can tap the curb, but you can’t jump the curb or hit the barrels. They have you 3 moves, 3 back and 3 forward. They don’t let you try again if you mess up parallel parking like the video says. Use your turn signal for everything. ALWAYS let pedestrians go when you’re driving in the parking lot and make sure you slow down when you approach the pedestrian crossing. Look left, right, left at stop signs. I got complimented because I looked left and right when I went through intersections for the street part. I had an older white guy, bald on the top, the second time when I passed. SUPER nice and talked to me the whole time. Don’t try to make conversation with the instructor if they don’t start it. Just don’t let your nerves get in your way like I did the first time. And when you turn, keep both hands on the wheel don’t just let the steering wheel glide back. Oh, and when you’re parallel parking make sure you turn on your right turn signal when you’re backing in and your left turn signal when you’re pulling out. Also check your blindspot before pulling out of the parallel parking and use your mirrors a lot like just check them.
@@samanthabenner6625 hey how did you manage to get an appointment so early after failing? I just failed mine :( and the earliest test i can schedule is 3 months from now and i wanna retest asap. But i heard that they release test dates on either wednesdays at 4 a.m. or monday at noon.
Keksimus Maximus i legit checked for new appointments every day like 3-4 times a day. I heard they update it on Wednesday’s at 4am but sometimes they just update randomly. I think someone cancelled theirs and I managed to snag it like 3 days after I failed the first time and passed the second time. Just constantly look at the site as much as you can.
6/16/23: Just took this test today and it is exactly the same course that this video consists of. Me and my sister went today and we both were more then ready to go through and pass with high confidence going into the whole ordeal. The ONLY TWO instructors they had here at this location had very distasteful demeanors and attitudes the entire duration of our tests which didn't make it any easier on us beginners but we still felt more then capable to pass with good results. But here we are on our way back home after having such a bad experience here. It just doesn't feel right not letting others how it went today and if you go into this or know someone going into this test at this location then their only instructors give no leeway for any decision making during the test. And over those two hours that we were here, there was not a single person they’ve passed, with the exception of one guy who I saw getting ready to take the course with one of the more ruder instructors. I walked over to them while they were in the middle of almost starting which was a small group consisting of the man taking the test, a older woman and a younger kid. But before they started I felt the need to let him know the things to look out for which were the same things that me and my sister were failed for. After waiting inside for some time that same group that I gave a heads up to came in and the kid came over to me and told me that he passed, which brought me some amount of peace knowing that at least someone passed today, he then thanked me and said that it was very much appreciated it. But I say all of this to say that it doesn’t mean you can't still go here and pass but I personally wouldn't recommend this place at all, but like I said this was just my experience from today and moving forward I personally can't let someone have the possibility of having the same experience for at least those willing to have read this all the way through, thank you and I wish everyone the best of luck on getting their license.
Liz Blas Yup, 3 full tries. So if you don’t get in correctly the first time you can get out and try it again. The car I used was a Sonata, which is a kinda long car, they give you plenty of space to get in and out don’t be nervous! The guy I had was very nice and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.
A maneuver is a turn of the wheel. If you turn your wheel right, then left that's two maneuvers no matter how much you turned the wheel. So it's a good idea to go to the DMV you will take the test at and practice parallel parking there so you can get a feel for how much you need to turn your wheel. And yes, they will fail you if you are 1 maneuver over the three. They are very strict and to the book when it comes to it.
I just barely passed. Because of quarantine, there is no road test. You just need to parallel park and then park in a normal space. Make sure you can park normally. The car next to us parked on the line and failed.
I’m taking mine in Wellsboro,PA (Tioga County) they have you go through town and go back to do the parallel parking and then your done. I have to have my sister help me learn the parallel parking and then I can schedule my test. I’m nervous but excited, already found a car just gotta get my license now.

@@gracehudson6614 wasn't very long, like maybe 5 minutes, and they take you around to park in the spots which are close you can see them from the parking lot, afterwards you drive out from that, passing the DMV, and go up to the light in the straight/right turning lane, once he had me turn he had me turn right again just a couple seconds after right back into the parking lot where you'll go back and he'll have you park in a parking spot to tell you if you passed or failed, it can be different so just make sure you aren't working just on what I did
Just took the test today, the examiner watches you from outside. You only do the parallel parking and pull up to the parking area you see at the end of the video. There's no driving outside of the lot.
For this location I’m going there in a few days to take it, and I was just wondering a few things. First things first, do they have a certain way that you need to turn the wheel? @Stephen Bauer at 7:09 in this video you said to put and do not put your left turn signal on while making the slight turn why is that isn’t that technically still making a turn. At the end didn’t see you signal into the spot at the end.

@@gracefranchini9286 same exact route. Make sure you spend 3-1000s at the stop signs and check for blind spots. My son took the test 3 times last week. 1-They gave him 5 maneuvers to parallel park. I think my son choked on the extra info and panicked. He didn't know what to do after the 3rd move. Failed on the line of the box. 2-Nailed the parallel parking but was told 6 maneuvers. The examiner said he was rolling the stop signs. I watched him do 2 of them though and he was fine. He said that he needs to count 1...1...thou....sand...ect. It ends up being like 10 seconds. Crazy, but we made sure to over-emphasize on his 3rd try. 3-Passed with the over-emphasis. Was told not to guide the steering wheel back in turns though which kind of goes against the manual. 😂 Good luck!
Yes you can. I took the test Oct 2017 and I used it and passed. Legally I think by 2019 it's a fed law that all new cars being made have to have the backup camera and the PA DMV does not penalize you for using it.
Recently watched and found it quite interesting. You obviously spent some time on this, so thank you. But I may suggest having an additional camera (if you have one or have a friend willing to assist). And, aren't you doing a rolling stop? I have yet to hear you state, "count, 1, 2, then go" at each stop sign. However, you did stay on track, without a prompter... again, kudos to you.
I have a question. For the parallel parking part, is it three tries (as in pull-ups) or three maneuvers (as in turning the wheel because i have heard both. I'm taking mine June 15th and it would be great to know.

I have to go tomorrow 25 oct 2018 for driving test. Do they use same driving path for the test or is it changed? And is that the speed limit of 35mph is throughout the path as there's no where mentioned the same limit on the road...
Ok, So I went for the test. Examiner (Lady): Parallel parking is done in one shot. Throughout the mall driving, I was under 15 MPH. In road driving, after the first green light my speedometer touches 37MPH and as soon as I noticed she yell at me like I did something wrong and she is gonna fail me on that. After that everything went well. Once we reached the parking spot, she just had one thing to point in my whole driving test i.e. why you over speed to 37 in a 35MPH lane. I tried to explain that, it was due to I was accelerating from a green signal and I didn't notice that my car reached at 37 for a moment but as soon as I noticed I reduced it to 35MPH. With this explanation, she thought that I am arguing with her and she told me you better come again for the driving test and mentioned that I was overspeeding in the mall with 17MPH instead of 15MPH which I wasn't. Once she handover the learners permit to me, I saw that first, she ticks the pass sign and after my explanation, she just cut that off and failed me. I reached home with a thought in my mind that I should better not argue with her. Booked another appointment and luckily got a next day spot (today) at Oregon Avenue and successfully got the license. MORAL of the story: DON'T ARGUE WITH THE EXAMINER AS THEY CAN FAIL YOU FOR ANY REASON WITHOUT YOUR FAULT.

Hey, on the 4:28 there' a STOP sign there. STOP. Othereise you're failed. No matter if the road is empty or free of trafic cars, and whatsoever. STOP. Then start again. Because during the driving test they brings you on the purpose in situation like this in order to set you up in a trap.

This is okay for the basics but don’t do what this guy did other than taking the same route he did. NEVER go over ANY lines on the road wether it be a stop sign line or red light line. And when they have you come back and after you’ve turn around, when you make them at right where the line is, DO NOT GO OVER IT. Go into the intersection properly and then make the right to turn back into the DMV parking lot. And of course three seconds at every stop sign, and look left right then left even at the stop sign down by the parallel parking area. Oh and when you’re in the final stretch and you go through the break in the parking lot where traffic may intersect, stop even if there isn’t traffic as if it is a stop sign. I know the little details so well because I payed a professional $100 to take me out driving for 6 hours and he did an amazing job at teaching me parallel parking in literally seconds, and he did an amazing job at teaching me all the little shit that WILL cause you to fail. Plus the course is an insurance discount so that helps too.
Edit to the third sentence: And when they have you turn back into to the DMV parking lot after you’ve turned around, DO NOT go over the solid white line on the right side of the road.
Alex are you talking about the white line at the entrance of the parking lot? We have to stop there then make the turn?
JUKENZ Yes, he is referring to that line, but do not completely stop unless it's a red light. Only make the right turn once you enter the intersection. Attempting to swerve to the right and beginning the right turn before the intersection will cause you to hit the white line, and thus automaticaly fail. I know it sounds strange because swerving to the right side of the road before a right turn is usually the norm for regular drivers, but this is not the case for the DMV road test. Hopefully that makes sense

7/26/23: Took the test here today. I was told to make a right out of the lot, instead of a left. I assume they change it up randomly. But if you're told to go right, don't worry. The right route is much shorter than the left route. I couldn't believe how easy/short it was. It was over before I knew it. And I passed. If you're reading this, good luck. ✅👍
(Also, you CAN use your backup camera for parallel parking. That helped me tremendously.)

Amir Marks yea very, just make sure you stop behind stop sign lines and traffic light lines. And get the parallel parking in one try, you are allowed to practice there after hours.

tiffany cardenas they ask you about your trafficators, wind shield wiper, head lights,and beap the horn, press the break and etc you’re gonna need the insurance of your car and registration. At first they are gonna try to intimidate you with their silence but you just have to act confident and if your confused ask questions they will help you! I just took it today and passed, but depending on the instructor, they will choose which way to go, sometimes its left and other times its right so make sure you guys practice going both ways.

This video has been my life saver. I take mine this week (Friday, July 20th) and I’m so nervous. I drove the course this weekend and it’s very easy, I just have to keep my nerves at bay and not make little mistakes. I hope everyone taking this soon/in the future passes! I failed the first time, was way too nervous and I jumped the curb pulling out of the parallel parking space. Was lucky enough to grab an appointment today and I passed!

Miguel ARRIAGA take your time. Don’t overthink it. Make sure you know the basics. Break lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, headlights & high beams. When they get in the car don’t start driving until their seat belt is buckled. When you parallel park you can tap the curb, but you can’t jump the curb or hit the barrels. They have you 3 moves, 3 back and 3 forward. They don’t let you try again if you mess up parallel parking like the video says. Use your turn signal for everything. ALWAYS let pedestrians go when you’re driving in the parking lot and make sure you slow down when you approach the pedestrian crossing. Look left, right, left at stop signs. I got complimented because I looked left and right when I went through intersections for the street part. I had an older white guy, bald on the top, the second time when I passed. SUPER nice and talked to me the whole time. Don’t try to make conversation with the instructor if they don’t start it. Just don’t let your nerves get in your way like I did the first time. And when you turn, keep both hands on the wheel don’t just let the steering wheel glide back. Oh, and when you’re parallel parking make sure you turn on your right turn signal when you’re backing in and your left turn signal when you’re pulling out. Also check your blindspot before pulling out of the parallel parking and use your mirrors a lot like just check them.
@@samanthabenner6625 hey how did you manage to get an appointment so early after failing? I just failed mine :( and the earliest test i can schedule is 3 months from now and i wanna retest asap. But i heard that they release test dates on either wednesdays at 4 a.m. or monday at noon.
Keksimus Maximus i legit checked for new appointments every day like 3-4 times a day. I heard they update it on Wednesday’s at 4am but sometimes they just update randomly. I think someone cancelled theirs and I managed to snag it like 3 days after I failed the first time and passed the second time. Just constantly look at the site as much as you can.
6/16/23: Just took this test today and it is exactly the same course that this video consists of. Me and my sister went today and we both were more then ready to go through and pass with high confidence going into the whole ordeal. The ONLY TWO instructors they had here at this location had very distasteful demeanors and attitudes the entire duration of our tests which didn't make it any easier on us beginners but we still felt more then capable to pass with good results. But here we are on our way back home after having such a bad experience here. It just doesn't feel right not letting others how it went today and if you go into this or know someone going into this test at this location then their only instructors give no leeway for any decision making during the test. And over those two hours that we were here, there was not a single person they’ve passed, with the exception of one guy who I saw getting ready to take the course with one of the more ruder instructors. I walked over to them while they were in the middle of almost starting which was a small group consisting of the man taking the test, a older woman and a younger kid. But before they started I felt the need to let him know the things to look out for which were the same things that me and my sister were failed for. After waiting inside for some time that same group that I gave a heads up to came in and the kid came over to me and told me that he passed, which brought me some amount of peace knowing that at least someone passed today, he then thanked me and said that it was very much appreciated it. But I say all of this to say that it doesn’t mean you can't still go here and pass but I personally wouldn't recommend this place at all, but like I said this was just my experience from today and moving forward I personally can't let someone have the possibility of having the same experience for at least those willing to have read this all the way through, thank you and I wish everyone the best of luck on getting their license.

Liz Blas Yup, 3 full tries. So if you don’t get in correctly the first time you can get out and try it again. The car I used was a Sonata, which is a kinda long car, they give you plenty of space to get in and out don’t be nervous! The guy I had was very nice and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.

You get 1 attempt at parallel parking with 3 manuevers allowed. What counts as a manuever? Would you fail for 1 mile over?
A maneuver is a turn of the wheel. If you turn your wheel right, then left that's two maneuvers no matter how much you turned the wheel. So it's a good idea to go to the DMV you will take the test at and practice parallel parking there so you can get a feel for how much you need to turn your wheel. And yes, they will fail you if you are 1 maneuver over the three. They are very strict and to the book when it comes to it.
I just barely passed. Because of quarantine, there is no road test. You just need to parallel park and then park in a normal space. Make sure you can park normally. The car next to us parked on the line and failed.

I have to have my sister help me learn the parallel parking and then I can schedule my test. I’m nervous but excited, already found a car just gotta get my license now.

Does it matter if turning is hand-to-hand or hand-over-hand? I've seen both, and I'm not sure which one to tell my kids to use.
@@kimberlyhorger8996 I used hand over hand but it doesn't matter, just keep both hands on the wheel, and never let go of it, I accidentally drove with one hand for a second and he said something. Also don't let the wheel spin back

@@gracehudson6614 wasn't very long, like maybe 5 minutes, and they take you around to park in the spots which are close you can see them from the parking lot, afterwards you drive out from that, passing the DMV, and go up to the light in the straight/right turning lane, once he had me turn he had me turn right again just a couple seconds after right back into the parking lot where you'll go back and he'll have you park in a parking spot to tell you if you passed or failed, it can be different so just make sure you aren't working just on what I did
Just took the test today, the examiner watches you from outside. You only do the parallel parking and pull up to the parking area you see at the end of the video. There's no driving outside of the lot.
For this location I’m going there in a few days to take it, and I was just wondering a few things. First things first, do they have a certain way that you need to turn the wheel? Like do you have to do hand over hand or by passing the wheel from one hand to another? Just wondering that mainly because I don’t want to risk failing over a mistake like that

@@gracefranchini9286 same exact route. Make sure you spend 3-1000s at the stop signs and check for blind spots. My son took the test 3 times last week. 1-They gave him 5 maneuvers to parallel park. I think my son choked on the extra info and panicked. He didn't know what to do after the 3rd move. Failed on the line of the box. 2-Nailed the parallel parking but was told 6 maneuvers. The examiner said he was rolling the stop signs. I watched him do 2 of them though and he was fine. He said that he needs to count 1...1...thou....sand...ect. It ends up being like 10 seconds. Crazy, but we made sure to over-emphasize on his 3rd try. 3-Passed with the over-emphasis. Was told not to guide the steering wheel back in turns though which kind of goes against the manual. 😂 Good luck!

Yes you can. I took the test Oct 2017 and I used it and passed. Legally I think by 2019 it's a fed law that all new cars being made have to have the backup camera and the PA DMV does not penalize you for using it.

Recently watched and found it quite interesting. You obviously spent some time on this, so thank you. But I may suggest having an additional camera (if you have one or have a friend willing to assist). And, aren't you doing a rolling stop? I have yet to hear you state, "count, 1, 2, then go" at each stop sign. However, you did stay on track, without a prompter... again, kudos to you.

I just took my test passed they only ask you for lights right and left turn signals and wipers and hazards and put foot on brake and honk horn

I have to go tomorrow 25 oct 2018 for driving test. Do they use same driving path for the test or is it changed? And is that the speed limit of 35mph is throughout the path as there's no where mentioned the same limit on the road...
Ok, So I went for the test. Examiner (Lady): Parallel parking is done in one shot. Throughout the mall driving, I was under 15 MPH. In road driving, after the first green light my speedometer touches 37MPH and as soon as I noticed she yell at me like I did something wrong and she is gonna fail me on that. After that everything went well. Once we reached the parking spot, she just had one thing to point in my whole driving test i.e. why you over speed to 37 in a 35MPH lane. I tried to explain that, it was due to I was accelerating from a green signal and I didn't notice that my car reached at 37 for a moment but as soon as I noticed I reduced it to 35MPH. With this explanation, she thought that I am arguing with her and she told me you better come again for the driving test and mentioned that I was overspeeding in the mall with 17MPH instead of 15MPH which I wasn't. Once she handover the learners permit to me, I saw that first, she ticks the pass sign and after my explanation, she just cut that off and failed me. I reached home with a thought in my mind that I should better not argue with her. Booked another appointment and luckily got a next day spot (today) at Oregon Avenue and successfully got the license. MORAL of the story: DON'T ARGUE WITH THE EXAMINER AS THEY CAN FAIL YOU FOR ANY REASON WITHOUT YOUR FAULT.
I will give my test on tomorrow ..i am so nervous... 😭😭
