Welcome to RUNFREE! 🤝 Let me know what YOU think of the Pulsar Trail Pro's! Are they already in your rotation, or are you looking to try them out?

I agree with the problems of the lock down. And I did exactly the same, removing the insole and it feels much better, more head room for the foot and less sliding around, more stability.
I have to add that the outsole is far too timid and really lacks grip in more technical steep up and down hill on very loose surfaces here in Hong Kong.

Dude you saved this shoe for me. I always got a nasty hotspot on the sole of my right foot. Took the insoles out and now they feel great.

Thanks I’m gonna try that with sense pro 4, the fit is kind of off for me. They’re narrow but long I put a little heel bumpers in that, and that healed the length but the most I can take them for is like a 50 K because they’re so narrow upfront, which my old pros weren’t like that but but I’m gonna try that I’m gonna you know the insoles are paper thin anyways, so I’m gonna just pull those out and maybe this weekend’s gonna try my long run like that and see if that’s any better
That’s what I heard from a friend that the normal shoe is just wider by a millimeter or so in the toolbox then the F lap and that’s like perfect that’s all I’ve been ever asking Solomon to do I love the loader the ground field. I love it all. I just want a little bit wider in the toolbox. I like this, the narrow midfoot I love it all , just give me a little bit more in the box and I don’t want the high stack. I tried the pulsar and the pulsar pro and I didn’t like the high stack height for me.

Hello, thanks for the review. Apparently a lot of people have Achilles problems with these shoes. Im between them and the Vectiv Sky (also great review) 🤘im looking for gast shoes for trail and maybe i have it 😊

Cheers man! The vectiv sky is designed for much more technical trails, but the pulsar is a more long distance cruiser ... enjoy!

Love this shoe! First run I broke 15 PBs and I wasn't trying. I hear about lock down a lot but this shoe has been no problem for me - lock down is quite personal imo, the shape of the foot is largely the issue in most cases, rather than a fault with the shoe. I have been thinking about using the Innov8 Trailfly G270 insole (love that shoe but it's zero drop is harsh after 15k for training). It could be in my head but I really love that insole, its got magic in it 😄

I agree Rob they're a fantastic shoe! Is it the Innov8 boomerang footbed in the Trailfly G270? They're super bouncy :)

Hello there RUNFREE Having said that I am now using the Hoka torrent 2 and I really like the fit of the shoe on my foot as well as the firmness of the sole and the feel on the ground.Which Salomon shoe would you recommend for my next pick? I've also got my eye on the Hoka speedgoat 5, Salomon Ultra Glide 1 and 2 ,Salomon Pulsar Trail,Asics Fuji lite 3 , but overall I want a shoe that I can run up to 50k on trail and technical terrains with some milage on the pavement to reach the trails.

If you're enjoying the Torrent 2 then you might like the Speedgoat 5, although I was keen on the fit of the upper. The Ultra Glide 2 is basically the same as the 1, a good no frills option but I would go for the Pulsar Trail Pro 2 (I wasn't keen on the fit of the Pulsar Trail but worth a try). I haven't tried any of the Asics trail shoes but the new line is getting solid reviews. Consider the Salomon Genesis for technical trails and a better fit, and even check out the North Face line - good updates for 2023!

Wet grip is not good, insole is cheap, heel lock in my case was also not the best, breathability is average at best, solution: better insole (from retired Saucony Peregrine 10) leads to more comfort, changed the quick laces to traditional laces and created a heel loop with the last eyelet (for loop also), now the heel is locked and avoid wet and slightly muddy surfaces and wear thin socks...in dry on runnable stuff I like the shoe, wouldn't buy again as there are too many Cons, prefer the Sense Ride 3...

Great way to make the shoe work for you! I don't have any issue with grip in the wet (wet rock grip is great) it's just mud that it struggles with.

I’m looking at purchasing these shoes. Currently using the Saucony Endorphin Edge. Thank you for the review.

I only ran 10km in them as the lace positioning hurt my feet. it was acorss the ball on the outside of my big toe. I got a full refund and then gave them to a mate who didn't have that issue.

Was it the eyelets on the inside where the quicklaces attach? They rubbed for me to start with too! Thanks for the feedback 🙏

@@runfreeultra yup/. Thought it was the stitching at first as that was rough but it was the whole build. just didn't like my feet
