Marugame-uchiwa is believed to have been first made as a souvenir for pilgrims visiting the Kotohira Shrine in the middle of the 17th century. From that time on, the making of uchiwa was encouraged as a warriors' side job, and has gradually grown out of it. Marugameproduces about 90% of the uchiwa in Japan.

I find this more satisfying/relaxing to watch.
Not those videos of people playing with slime every one is crazy about.
Wow! His cutting at regular intervals is at god-level! All the bandages on the fingers - working with bamboo must be quite a pain literally...
And yet UA-cam sent me on another journey to end up with amazing japanese craftsmanship 🌾
Thank you :)

Thank You God 🙏 for finding this channel 🙏
Love the way these japanise craftsmen work so precisely creating beautiful thing out of bamboo and paper.
Beyond stunning - what incredibly craftsmen and they all seem very zen. Man I regret working in an office when I could have been an apprentice to a craftsman and led a richly creative and satisfying life.
What I find interesting is how the tools are made of natural products measured by cords rods and sticks. awesome
Perfect top show beautiful

Wonderful job.

0:43 Oh my god! How? How he cut in the same interval?
Two blades, one sharp and one dull, one for cutting and one for setting the interval
@@evgeniydeus8137 what is the name of this blade? where I can found one?
@@monawarzahidtonmoy3939 looks very particular, I think it's a custom made. Maybe by the master himself.
Amazing work of art!!
I love the music you used in the beginning too! would you please share what music is it?? Arigatou!
So how much are these wonderful craftsmen paid,
Realmente maravilloso video!!!!!
Thank you!
woow this is marvelows
so much time and artistry and then you remember fanning yourself actually produces more body heat hahahahah just move and take over cooler less globally warmed places you master craftsmen! hahah
Thank you!
The only thing I can say is...WWWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWW
Thank you!
工欲善其事 必先利其器 this old saying said you want to get the work done well must first perfect the tool. In this case and a lot of others I think knowing how to sharpen the knife makes a big difference. Their knife is sharper then whatever I can get from the shelf. May be I should learn how to do that first.
There's a video somewhere else by a UK Luthier who started his apprenticeship making violins, and for the first 6 months (I think) did NOTHING except sharpen plane blades.
It's quite a skill - I've encountered people who's hobby is "sharpening chisels". They don't use them. They just like sharpening them.
Why am I not surprised to see band aids on every finger?

Susah menang karo koe opo cino mustahil hampir.
and then he sold the fan for .15 cents.
I hope multiculti never ruins Japan.
😀🇧🇷🌷👏👏🤝🤝
crying freeman
I think that the paper added to it doesn’t do the craftsmanship Any justice at all. In other words it looks better with out the paper shit.
