Mitsuko is my favorite character. She is a victim of her past & battle royale gave her a chance to face those demons. I think after she killed her attempted molester she developed a bloodlust and had to wait years before she could satisfy it.

Verdi, Bach, Schubert, Strauss and Mr. Masamichi Amano own compositions made this movie one of my favorites and the soundtrack is a must-have. And reading the book and the ST playing in the background takes it to a whole 'nother level. Amazing!!

I completely agree with you about the manga. It's actually my favorite out of all three (although i love them all dearly). Manga has more details and little things that really do matter.

It's not during the BR, but also, I don't think It's a flashback. Hiroki wouldn't talk to Chigusa like that since he said to her that he's in love with another girl in the class.
+asma ahartaf Actually, he would. Hiroki loves Chigusa, just not romantically; more like a brother, so him saying something like "I'll watch your back forever," would make sense. Their relationship is more fleshed out in the Novel and Manga; though I do love the movie and the scene in particular. Anyway, don't mean to step over your toes or anything, I hope you continue to enjoy the film :)
Might be the best thing about the manga: You learn what happened. A cynical view would also say that Shogo's interference wasted an amazing performance from Kiriyama, Sugimura and Mimura. No one will see their last stands. Rather tragic, no? More tragic, I suppose is the fact that the game happens at all.
She was only in the movie for a short time but still left a big impact.
