@@jakefromupstatefarmno its not a good job. Bentgrass especially newer cultivars hate clay soil, that's why we use 90 to 95% sand 5 to 10% peat to hold as little water as possible for a rootzone
Not necessary it just does a good job of removing dead material. I didn’t use glyphosate to kill existing grass so you might want to do that. Biggest thing I’d emphasize is get it flat as you can, and add sand. Have a roller on hand. It took me a while to build up to being able to reel mow
Without the tools $20 for a pound of bentgrass seed and 20 for starter fertilizer and cost of watering. I couldn’t have done it without the tiller and leveling rake which totalled 400 but I use both of them constantly for other projects
@@jakefromupstatefarm thanks tried growing pc 2.0 here in Jamaica but no luck got them to germinate but nothing after that wouldn’t mature.currently trying Yukon Bermuda… that tif eagle Bermuda looks great but unfortunately can’t get by seed
@@j12simpson yeah it’s gonna be tough in that climate to keep bent, it’s so finicky when heat and humidity get involved. There are companies you can buy dwarf bermuda from online I believe but if not I’d touch base with a local golf course and see if they’ll hook you up with the leftovers after they aerate or verticut
Good job, bro.
Thanks!
