- Part 6 of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (1951) documentary. A classic sci-fi film from the '50-s directed by Robert Wise, starring Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal. The documentary is about the movie itself with scenes from it and interviews with most of the cast and crew, including the director, the producer Julian Blaustein, actress Patricia Neal and Bob Burns, a world wellknown horror/sci-fi historian and archivist and prop collector. In the intreviews also take part famous horror directors Joe Dante and William Malone. All they discuss and talk about making the film that turns to classic.

This is my favorite movie of all time. Saw it over 50 times so far. Wish I owned memorabilia from it myself.

I'm so amazed they saved the saucer prop and Gort too. Thought all those things were long gone. I can't imagine having that in my own house to appreciate! Best movie of all time!
@William Forsche, many thanks for uploading "Making the Earth Stand Still", several of my friends, and I found it to be extremely informative, damn interesting, and 'captively' entertaining! In Part 5, Michael Rennie, in the form of Klaatu, makes a speech about irresponsible aggression - which the world of today should heed.
Back in those days, there was no TV in our area of SW Virginia in the Blue Ridge and we children saw very few movies--special occasiions only--this Gort scared us to death and my brother and I still get chills when we watched the DVD all these years later--to us the best memory of a "pace" movie.
Love the fact that Klaatu is wearing a suit and tie 24/7 wherever he goes when he’s not in his spaceship
Why does part 6 cut out? Can you fix it? Thanks for taking the trouble to upload it, I really enjoyed it.
@6:14 -- Bob Burns appears to have costumes from several serials in the background. Captain America (the mask has no wings on it), Captain Marvel, and King of the Rocketmen/Commando Cody are real obvious. To the left of "Commando Cody" appears to be a Rocketeer helmet.

When the robot first walks out with Patricia Neal it's the actress held up by wires. When they shot from the back as he heads for the saucer, it was a dummy smaller than life to make the robot seem even larger and to give him something lighter to carry.
