Respect to all the DJs out there. Whether it’s crowded/semi-busy/empty for being the first & last ones on the events.
I'm a DJ and this type of production is not what I want to do. I have a lot of respect for DJs who go after these big productions. It's a lot of work. My focus since I started has been doing the 100-300 guest weddings. During the week you can try to get gigs at bars and other venues that hire mobile DJ's during the week. I currently have a gig at a local bar every Thursday.

Not all weed is medical. CBD isn't psychoactive and holds the medicinal properties. THC is what gets you "high" and holds no medicinal value. If you smoke CBD you will actually pass a drug test because it isn't searched for.
I would beg to differ, how come all the medical shops sell thc then? Almost all the good cBD has a very small amount of thc also

I am a wedding DJ from Iowa. I understand that this business is very cut throat and the competition is brutal. But he is definitely not charging enough for the amount of work he's doing. But I love this business I'll admit that I've djed for less just to gain a client.

I used to DJ back when I was young cat back in earlier 90's as a side job ,but I use to do it also because is one of my hobbies up to today but I stop doing it as a business because people were too cheap with the money and staying until 3am carrying vinyls boxes wasn't fun anymore.

should looks into to get into 'sound reinforcement' for corporate events depending on where your at. That can get you into some weekday events, it wouldn't be as much back of house music/MC/DJ maybe more of event ambient music/lighting/audio engineer and stage mgmt for speakers/events etc.

Dj business is good if you have the passion and work smart, I left my day job for Dj and now we multi opp have our own office and rapidly expanding but the downside is you miss on family quality time.

You have to understand that one person can only do so much, but a person that manages Many People can do more and more...

yup djs in my city just bring 2 speakers download virtual dj on pc and thats it they dont do nothing and charge a lot i guess everybody is a dj,but modesto and his team are professionals with studio equipment and all so shoutout to them.

This is WAY more than a DJ. This guy has a full sound Engineer setup. Homie needs to be in L.A or San Francisco and setup Raves. Great video he is making the most out of his small market. Go to Madera and you will know what I mean.
Reyes in 7-8 hour gig ( wedding) you can take home ---TAKE HOME about $1000 cash !!!! Yes its a lot of responsibility and headaches ...oh I have 1 helper and after costa you can still make a grand.... ( I talking about 1 gig not 3 like modesto ) and when you play for anglos less is more ..so 4 speakers sometimes 2 with minimal lights .

I'm actually a full time club DJ, your talking about being a Mobile DJ, none of these investments come with being a club DJ as all equipment is provided by the club, all you need is a laptop or even just CD's if you're just getting started!

2500 for a set up like that sounds too little That’s ALOT of work to do for that amount.
All the equipment he used sure is worth more than 2500. I would charge by each equipment that is used plus my labor/time for set up.

To make money during the week you go to each and every club you can especially bars there open everyday.Give them a cheap number to perform all night .Beat the competition even if your $400 cheaper then them .You will have more performances then someone who charges more .Your money will add up hard

I did the mobile Dj gig for 25 years . This isn’t a mobile Dj set up , this is a live sound production setup where the sound guy DJ’s on the side .
Side note . I would charge at least $5k for that set up .

He charges way to little for a event like that over here just for the DJ it would be anywhere from $1500-$3000 for a wedding. That does not include for the band to connect to mixing board.
I'd be curious to see what his closing ratio is from initial lead to contracted event. If it's greater than 40-50%, he's leaving money on the table by not charging enough.
I've been to a few weddings and cinceneras and it's worth the money...🍻

Buying a candy ball machine is a good idea, but you have to understand that, that requires maintenance etc.. try taking your $125 and go buy stuff to sell on Ebay, Reyes has a video on it.
