      Awesome, wishing you the best! I should be hearing the board results any day now, I'll make another quick video whenever that happens if you're interested.

    If you don't mind sharing, what issue did you have with your back that required a waiver?
    I appreciate the video, it was super informative, especially the bits that pertained to officers.

      I have had chronic intermittent low back pain since about 2019 which I was seen for at physical therapy multiple times while on active duty. Probably related to poor lifting form in my earlier years, not 100% sure what caused it. It still bothers me from time to time but I do my best to avoid what I know aggravates it.
      The MEPS doctor told me that I would have been fully medically cleared if I hadn't seen a doctor regarding my back in the last 2 years, but only because I went to physical therapy a few times earlier this year before I separated, I needed to get a waiver. What are you looking at doing in the military?

      @@MattFischer2 Thank you for sharing! I am considering commissioning the Air Force as a Registered Nurse. I am trying to understand what to expect throughout this process and these videos are extremely beneficial.
      Definitely subscribing and will be following your journey.

      @@pablosoto5199 Thank you! Wish you well in your endeavors. And I will point out that the bases in the Navy tend to better than the Air Force if that matters to you. A lot of AF bases are positioned away from major cities/towns such as Minot and Canon AFB. Probably the #1 reason I am not going back to the AF. There were just a few bases I was terrified of being sent to lol

      @@MattFischer2 Good to know! My priority is a shorter deployment time to minimize time away from my wife and child. I think the Navy would also be a great option, and I will look up more information about it.

      @@pablosoto5199 Very true, deployments are better only being 6 months long.

    (For Officer)
    So after MEPS they have you put together a Packet to submit to the board? When do they let you know your OCS date?

    • @MattFischer2
      @MattFischer2  3 місяці тому +3

      I started the package before MEPS, passing MEPS is part of the package checklist. Once your package is complete, it is sent up to the processors. They will make sure that your package is complete and ready for the official board. Board dates are different for every job, the one I am applying for is Nov 4th. I have been told I'll know the results 1-2 weeks after and from what I can piece together from both reddit and airwarriors(a navy forum), I should expect to go to OCS somewhere around January or February. I'll do a few update videos in a few weeks about it once I know more.
