I learn picking songs the same way, first nail the baseline then the rest is usually pretty fast to learn. Just watched that performance and wow she gave me goosebumps. What a voice.
Andy, your talent and gift for teaching guitar is phenomenal! I have watched you and others for several years. I feel that you are the best on you tube! I am grateful for all that you contribute to the guitar community. I hope you have fully recovered from health issues. Peace to you.
Andy - another great lesson as always, THANKS! I am pretty sure in the live performance he is picking the 3rd fret of the B string not the open E at the end of the verse, which keeps the picking pattern the same throughout. Sounds great either way!
Hi Ben. Yeah, I meant to talk about that when I was planning the lesson but I forgot! I personally like the sound of the open E string there, and it saves you from having to fret the B string. Cheers, Andy.
Hi Andy. Heard you're not doing too great at the moment. Hope to have you back in the saddle soon. You are a fine teacher and such pleasant company of an evening when the family are away to bed and I can get my guitar out. Wishing you good health sir. Oh and I made a donation too yesterday. Everyone should if they are getting something from these tutorials. C'mon loyal subscribers! If Andy can't work just now he can't earn so I'm sure even the smallest of donations would be welcome
You're right on with the SNL version! We are doing this in a duo so this helps greatly! I felt the same way about the song as you described in your opening comments. Thanks for this!
Great song and spectacular lesson! The way you play guitar seems so effortless. In your lesson at 5:37, you teach the open E but on SNL I THINK he is playing the B string on the 3rd fret relative to the capo (like a open C shape). Same difference. Your way probably sounds a little better but for us non-pros, it's a little easier the other way. Anyway, thanks for bringing this song to my attention. Always love your videos and jealous of your talent.
thanks for this, such a great song! love your tutorials especially the fleetwood mac/lindsey ones… would love to see some more tutorials on lindsey’s solo work if you could! :)
Absolutely Taylor should sponsor him as he seems very much a Taylor man. I’d like to see him with the GTe Urban ash as it seems to sit nicely in between what Andy is currently using on his demo’s. Come on Taylor sort that out.
Beautiful..more content moments learning a new piece. Would love to hear you play and teach some Ian Anderson/ Jethro Tull acoustic songs..especially Reasons for Waiting but there many beautiful choices of course and as always thanks for your lessons. Oh yeah ..the Steve Winwood acoustic John Barleycorn would also be an awesome lesson…..you know in all your free time. Just wishing here.
Andy, this is so fantastic. And, if I may, could I throw out and idea for a song you might dig breaking down? It’s probably a real odd choice but, Engine 999 by The Hooters is just such a glorious bit of playing. Killer solo, too.
Another great lesson, as always. May I suggest you do a lesson for Save Your Love by Great White? Or if you have already, can you post a link to it? I searched, but couldn't find it. I like music from all generations and Save Your Love is a pretty tune from the 80s. I would love to learn from you how to play it. Thanks.
Ah, that unmistakable Buckingham style and the same tuning as the solo version of "Trouble" I loved Andy's comment about not being into today's stuff. I had the misfortune to hear about a half hour of current Top 40 "music" in a fast food restaurant recently. Horrifying, and not a guitar in sight. Long live fingerstyle acoustic guitar!

Just watched that performance and wow she gave me goosebumps.
What a voice.
I own a Gibson Les Paul and a Taylor. If only they sounded like they do on this channel. The best channel on UA-cam. Greetings from Scotland.

So beautiful, thank you for posting this.
You are right, the guitar part was beautiful. I loved it when McCartney did it with Blackbird.

Go insane live or slow dancing by buckingham please!
Why Gibson or Taylor is not sponsoring Andy ..? Wake up people
agreed, the guy makes both those companies look golden.
Absolutely Taylor should sponsor him as he seems very much a Taylor man.

Come on Taylor sort that out.
I have a feeling Andy doesn't want to do sponsorships. I don't think he cares that much about making money from these videos
Beautiful performance as always. 👌😊🎵
Thanks! Great job.
Thank you. My son wants me to teach him this.

Surprised you've never done a video on little wing....
How can I tell you cat Stevens, Alun Davies part 🙏🙏😎 ohh btw great lesson, again.
The guitar picking lawyer
Andy, this is a stupid question but what string gauge do you use for your acoustic.
There's a link to my gear page in the description box below each video. I list everything I use there. Cheers

Trent Reznor and Atticus Rose composed this song.
I’ll personally contribute whatever $ amount you feel is fair if you do “Shut Us Down”
It's a rip off of Black Bird. But that's OK Beatles rule
