    Lesson: How to Play Capricho Árabe by Francisco Tárrega on Classical Guitar
    Level: Advanced (Grade 9)
    Capricho Árabe is one of Francisco Tárrega’s (1852-1909) most famous works. It has become one of his most popular works due to its rich and dark sound as well as strong melodic lines. Before working on this piece I highly recommend you try out of some Tarrega’s easier works which you can find with grade levels on the main sheet music page.

    ugh, flawless.
    you should make a video of yourself playing the entire song; just beautiful.

    I have more problems with my right than with my left hand..with this piece. The timing with the metronome is very insightful

    I have been learning this. Honestly, I am not much of a classical guitarist, and I cannot read music. But that being said I have managed to get to the F# section. I am just now starting on this section but I have managed to get the others down in perhaps two weeks.
    While I may not be much of a classically trained guitarist, as I have entirely learned on my own, I have been playing for a considerable amount of time. Fortunately, the F# section seems to be not as difficult for me, as I mistakenly played power chords using the first middle and ring fingers for years.

    Really like this lesson. I like the idea of using the metronome, definitely helps to get the prosody of the piece down. Thanks.

    I've been working through this using a recording of Segovia as my audio reference but your lesson helped me nail it down. Thanks! Any chance for a lesson/walkthrough of Barrios Vals 4 Op 8? 😀

    The end of bar 35 has 5 semiquavers. How do I keep them in time? Is it just a matter of squeezing them in? Thanks!

    Could you possibly do a review of a Pavan TP-30? I heard it's among the best for it's price range ($1650).

    Am I wrong or does RCM guitar only go up to level 8?

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar
      @Thisisclassicalguitar  3 роки тому +1

      The books in the RCM only go to grade 8 but the syllabus goes to grade 10 and then the ARCT list. Keep in mind though that I don't follow the RCM strictly and grade independently of them, although most of mine are very similar.

    wonderfully played but misleading title and links; the tablature/sheet music is not free its for sale.

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar

      The sheet music (notation) edition is free (there is a link to it there). But yes, the tab edition is a purchase though.

    why the sheet music is free and instead, I have to pay for the tab?

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar
      @Thisisclassicalguitar  4 роки тому +8

      It's just the way the site turned out. I originally made the site for my students and only made notation free but when people started wanting tabs it just took up so much of my time I monetized it. However, I made my first method book free so if anyone wants to learn to read notation that would get them started. Anyway, sorry about that but it's a full time job these days so it kind of just ended up that way. Maybe I'll include more free tabs in the future.

      @@Thisisclassicalguitar hello, Yesterday I have ordered your book "Classical Guitar Technique: Essential Exercises, Scales, and Arpeggios" from Amazon for 22,64 euros. From the abstract it seems very similar to Pumpying Nylon that I'm using since a year, what are the main differennces ? And, can I have Carpiccio Arabo tab as a gift for that purchase? If you leave me a persoal mail I wll sent you the proof of the order. Thanks Bradford

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar
      @Thisisclassicalguitar  4 роки тому +2

      The main difference is the number of exercises, scales, and arpeggios. My book is progressive in each section starting with easy exercises and getting harder. I also have 100 open string exercises, practice routines, scales, and more. That said, Pumping Nylon is great because it is a concise technique reference for a specific intermediate to early advanced focus. It's easy to use and open up.
