Never noticed actually. It may be. Michael played on the Straight Ahead project. He was very instrumental...pun intended...in her early career. And now...I think it's safe to say he is bigger than she is.
@@classicchristianmusicarchive My brother & I were instant fans of MWS after hearing his first album when it first came out in '83. When MWS opened for Amy Grant on one of her tours (I think it was her Straight Ahead tour), we went more to see Smitty than Amy! (Although I was a big Amy fan too.)
I'll just add that I have always appreciated Amy's & Michael's collaborations. A while back I was listening to "Where Do You Hide Your Heart" from Straight Ahead and was thinking it almost sounded like it could have been from the MWS 2 album 🙂
@@jazzydiver4519 I have to admit I wasn't as big of a fan of Michael as I was of Amy back then. I honestly didn't start to really like him until his Go West Young Man project. Then after he did the Change Your World project I was hooked. I'm actually less of a fan of Amy today than I use to be. The last project she did that I really, really liked was Behind The Eyes. I started losing interest after that one. Michael is not one of the greatest singers ever, but his writing, and his musical talent is second to none in my opinion.
@@jazzydiver4519 Straight Ahead was my favorite album until Lead Me On came out. I think that one is Amy's best album. And Lead Me On is Michael's song.
Love UA-cam because of this video

At 2:10 take a look at who's playing the piano. I think it's Michael W Smith! :-)
