Hi Collin, I'm following your videos step by step and am now only up to this video. They have been really insightful and very well thought out so thank you for that. I just wanted to ask a question and maybe you will cover it later on. But when you ask "O le a sou manatu po' o le a le uiga o le...." why use "sou" and not "lou" as in you? Please and thank you
Sula makoto thanks for watching and I’m glad the channel is helping. Thanks for the question. Yes, I do cover it later but it’s not a hard concept so I’ll just explain it. “Lou” is the singular and specific form of “your.” “Sou” is the singular and non-specific form of “your.” For example, if I told you to bring your math book, I would use Lou. Because it’s a single and specific book I want you to bring. But if I told you to bring a book, I would use sou, because it’s still a single book I want you to bring but it’s not a specific book. Now to your question, either lou or sou would be correct in this instant. The reason I used sou is because I heard that more in the islands, but again either is correct. When using sou in that question, it’s a lot like the English question, “any thought about...”. I hope this answers your question.
@@SamoanLanguageChannel Yes it does! Thank you so so much! I really appreciate you taking your time out to help me. I might have a few other questions down the track so stay tuned haha. God bless you as well :)
I've watched your videos often and your channel is easily the best place to come when learning Samoan. Thanks so much for this.
Mike Strieby thank you. I’m just trying to give what I didn’t have. Glad you like the channel.
Absolutely appreciated. I'm reporting to Provo MTC next Wednesday.

I'm very excited!
