Lifeforce(longevity, vitality), reproduction (fertility, biological, sex-drive), Esoteric( occult, psychology, nichey, secrecy), scrutiny (research, discovery, exposition, critique), Shared wealth ( gifts, donations, benefits of partnership). I would add its a house of change, sudden change. Shared wealth including Insurances payouts, alimony/child support, money owed to you, money you receive through another - like loans or mortgages. It's what you get as support, which can be seen as gains through partnerships/interactions with another. Its a house of intimacy- "into me you see". The part of ourselves we keep hidden and only show with those we can be most vulnerable.
Would love to see you cover the 6th House one day as that's the house with the least amount of information I can find. Usually it's just enemies, habits, and health.
I agree! I have a few of his charts, and one of them talking about the secret houses, says that he would describe me as a "12th house archetype", but then he just leaves it there with no other explanation. Which is odd, considering that his charts are normally very good at explaining things.... But I don't understand the 12th house very much at all....
Saw your ask to me on the other board. Super simply: 12th house occurs after ultimate desires fulfillment 11th house. And, in a blinding placement of the sun. So, this is some interpretations of those facets: Thus climax occurs the milliseconds prior the 12th cusp. 12th house relates to 'bed pleasures' or 'enjoyment sex' because it is the release immediately after the 11th's culmination. Loss is here, as opposed to in the 8th, because it comes after ultimate fulfillment. But it is ultimate fulfillment of desires. Non-desire, 'loss of desire', 'loss of losses' makes the 12th house a moksha house of enlightenment because of the contentment present (again, think of moments immediately following orgasm). Enlightenment is difficult to convey because the sun is in a blinding placement. But also as 'loss of desire' or 'non-desire' it is things you don't want. Because it is a blinding placement of sun low along the horizon it is hidden enemies. Where enemy forces are gathering to attack you. It is fearfulness, paranoia, contraction of illness.
It's not really about "transformation", but about rejection of irrelevant, unnourishing, saturated, or waste matter. It doesn't really transform anything, it just give space for new nutrients (literally or abstractly, like new values). So yeah, if you throw out all the stuff in your room and replace it by new and different ones, that might look like a transformation, but none of the stuff was transformed, just replaced. It's more like a fresh start.
I'd also add that the 8th House represents the invisible in terms of: 1. things in the future (death or longevity); 2. things you can't hold on to (absence of resources, intangible resources); 3. things you won't, can't, or fears to express ("secrets" as shameful or too sensible things, like your private parts).
Resilience is also 8th house: power in that sense (not worldly power) but the inbuilt confidence to survive. In your interpretation that would fit as eroding annihilation.
What I'm learning from this is that the 8th house is humbling and wise. Instead of saying it's scrutinizing, i think the 8th is trying to teach us patience and endurance! Thank you for the awesome video!
8th house to me is bhakti energy. Also "hearing" others. As opposed to the selfishness of the 2nd. It is a space where you are unable to have " a room only to yourself".

The 8th house aspect being "transformation" has to do with being that which deals with that which is hidden, thus like shadow psychological work, transformation through esoteric/occult practices. Tantrik Buddhism, for example, is often referred to as the path of transformation, which uses the poisons of conditioned existance as fuel for Awakening to the point of Liberation, an Vajrayāna itself is the path of secrecy, often referred to as the "secret mantra" that takes Buddhist teachings and interprets them in a deeper more esoteric manner, find the deepest hidden meaning in them. So in relation to this video I would still say 8th house can have a connotation of transformation as a derivative of what goes on there. A great psychological therapy can bring shadows to light which leads to transformation, same with occult practices. Other than that great video!
It would be awesome if you did ALLLLL the houses this way! Like super informative. It's very helpful to be shown where we are wrong. I love to explore unseen things, and finally there is much more dignified explanation of the 8th house. I have Atmakaraka Sun here, and Mercury (Bharani Nakshatra) conjunct Rahu (Ashwini Nakshatra). I wish I could understand everything, I like to dig and dig and find a deeper meaning in things. Psychology, Esotericism. And I think it is a lot because of the 8th house energy. What is true- my income comes from my husband but sometimes I feel guilty for it. My in-laws have helped a lot and I feel very grateful that they have so much love for their grandchildren. Thank you for your amazing analysis!
6:02 I believe its a transformation that is inspired by seeing what is possible through the work or example of another. If 8th house is what is valuable in other places or valuable in other people, then that can transform our wants / needs or influence our direction. The 8th house can also be how we transform the lives of others or the things that have become part our sphere of interest / domain
I thought it was interesting how you said the eighth house is about the way that we get stuff from other people. Thank you for shining some light on this fascinating and obscure house.
Amazing coincidence, I was just rewatching your livestream about the 8th house. Thanks for reclarifying the houses Vic, especially the 8th house which is commonly less understood.
When you say "I guess you must be thinking..." I would have to point out the obvious source of many of these misconceptions is the association of signs to houses. There is some correspondance but much of it is arguably just an effect of the division of things symbolically into twelve. Scorpio is gonna correspond in ways to the 8th by the very fact that they are both seen as the 8th thing in a circular division into twelve. Top and bottom, left and right are always gonna have certain associations. We could divide into 2 one will be yin and one yang. We can further to 4 and get the archerypes of four directions and, in astrology, we ultimately go to 12.
I think "transformation" in this case refer's to rebirth, as in the symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes - it undergoes a transformation, a shedding of old skin, an emergence from the cocoon etc. which also matches well with the association of "death [and life]" with the 8th House.
Great video! I've always enjoyed your videos but lately you have improved your videos A LOT! I am happy for having subscribe to your channel, Vic! Thank you again.

If the 8th house is the piece of the sky that has weather - and weather, especially lightning, is highly transformative. As well as the seasons. Could that be the "transformation" explanation?
"transformation" is a keyword modern astrologers in the west associate with Pluto, remember for most modern astrologers there's such a thing as A) Modern rulership scheme B) a correlation often call "the alphabet" between signs, houses and ruling planets ( 8th/Scorpio/ Pluto).

Wow! So glad I found your channel.. Very knowledgeable, and you explain well.. I'd love to hear more about understanding cusp like myself 😣. It's frustrating to predict... sun, Rising and moon are all on different cusp. (28° ♑️Rising/ 0° ♊️ moon, 28♎️🌞). I never know if something is transiting in my 5th or 6th.. Very different possibilities.. The houses seem to split between signs
Love these videos! Please do all the houses. As a ketu in scorpio 8th house native I would say sudden transformation has been a BIG theme in my life. Though I also have Bharani as ascendant. Reflecting on the theme of transformation by looking at nature as you have taught.. I would say the 8th house is the area of the sky where the weather originates. The nature of the weather in inherently to always be changing. As you said this area of the sky erodes the ground beneath it. So essentially, that area of the sky is always changing and it changes the ground beneath it. So would it not change/ transform the ground on the Eastern horizon - the 7th house as well as representing transformation itself. Also the act of sex as represented by the 8th house (the disappearance of death) is itself inherently transformative as the act of creating new life is the ultimate transformation? Open to being incorrect... I find this all very interesting and love being able to think this through by going back to the basic meanings to really understand. Thank you!
@@overthoughtandunderstated I think "transformation" in this case refer's to rebirth, as in the symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes - it undergoes a transformation, a shedding of old skin, an emergence from the cocoon etc., which also matches well with the association of "death [and life]" with the 8th House.
Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto in Libra in 8th house. Deep transformations through relationships, suffer and karmic debts. I work with astrology and I belong to ayahuasca community here in Brazil. 8th house (and 6th too) make a quincunce with the ascendent I learn that s why bring bad things
But I don't have a great understanding of what this placement means, exactly. I believe it's beneficial for us to seek romance and partnerships because we could become very lucky vicariously through them (wealth...)
I wonder if gynecologists or ultrasound technicians have 8th-6th or 8th-6th-10th connections. A midwife I think would have to have something 8th house, but since labor happens in the 12th I wonder if it's more 12th or 6th, and the moon prominent with an 8th-12th. Anyone study this with say sixty charts or so? If it's a strong correlation it's probably visible in even a few charts, eight or so. I think any kind of x-ray technician, ultrasound technician, doplar reader, radar technician has an 8th connection to one of the 'profession' houses. But it's informed conjecture. Anyone study it?
@@VicDiCaraAstrology hmm. Is there a conflation between timing of the baby's birth (seen from the 8th) and the mother in childbirth? Do you keep it all in the 8th until post-birth? Since pregnancy leads to birth? I could see that; 12th isn't known for energy, and labor's intensive. To gently push back, I think isolation, altered states, activities that drain energy/vitality, intense rest, loss and foreign bodies are considered 12th house. The mother's not being birthed. That's what's happening to the baby. 🤰🏻👼🏾 :) Where do you place labor? Love your work, Vic. Inspires me to think deeply (& I enjoy thinking deeply 🤔😄).

Trauma is a part of being alive for almost all people. Everyone experiences great losses such as the death of a loved one. Trauma isn't inherently a negative thing, and dusthanas exist for a reason: to examine these unsavoury aspects of life. If 8th house isn't to be looked at for traumatic events, what house should be? The 6th is more about day to day hurdles. The 12th is more about one's own death. The 8th house is for trauma, and the placements tell you whether you use trauma to become stronger or succumb.
As someone who has rahu and mars in the 8th house I give people free tarot and chart readings, but they always end up giving me back something out of their own free will. It’s not always in the form of money. It’s something that I have noticed happening. By the way, thank you for not giving straight up negative or positive interpretations of the houses! That is very professional. Every time I hear astrologers do that it just sounds amateurish and I stop following them.
So the SUN becomes so important, its the KING, we are all following its movements which literally shapes our lives, a nice new way of deciphering these concepts, 👍👍👍
Would it not most signify medicine and chemistry too? Those little bacterias, chemical structures etc are barely visible and especially with that vitality signification of the 8th.

What an informative video. I got so much out of it. Have you done all the houses in this format? I will go check. Thank you so so much! I loved it 👏🙌
Ha, I loved what you said about taxes. Helpful, cool video!
Thank you!
Awesome video!!!
Very interesting great analysis! Do you have video that would explain capricorn ruling 8th with Neptune in it?
1:48 or to view if/why parent sacrifices for child, a lineage for its young?
Lovely video amd great way at involvement❤ Thank you
Venus conjunct Ceres in the 8th house in Revati
Wow. This is Fantastic. Thank you. (8th house sun)
We need this sort of critical approach.
Loved the explanation! Wowwww !!!!!
This was really awesome🙏🏿. And it is clear to me that you have Sun in 8th☝🏿
Brilliant ! thank you
An A+ video Mr.Vic!
Love your analysis, thank you.
8th house is transformative due to the natural sign of Scorpio. This is one of the reasons.
This is precisely the mistake. Disassociate significations of signs and houses, and you'll master both. Marry them, and you'll know little of both
@@overthoughtandunderstated I think "transformation" in this case refer's to rebirth, as in the symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes - it undergoes a transformation, a shedding of old skin, an emergence from the cocoon etc., which also matches well with the association of "death [and life]" with the 8th House.
Interesting! I like this clear video.Thanks 🌼🤍
Absolutely excellent! 👍🏾
Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto in Libra in 8th house. Deep transformations through relationships, suffer and karmic debts. I work with astrology and I belong to ayahuasca community here in Brazil.
8th house (and 6th too) make a quincunce with the ascendent
I learn that s why bring bad things
This makes me like my Venus in the 8th.
I have this too. in Virgo 😬 along with Lilith and Vertex 😬😬 lmao
But I don't have a great understanding of what this placement means, exactly. I believe it's beneficial for us to seek romance and partnerships because we could become very lucky vicariously through them (wealth...)
I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 8th house tropical/ in Libra sidereal chart..
it's only amplify what's in your 8th house. look for your big 3 & 6 for the focus.
Apparently, it also symbolizes disgrace and humiliation
Mars in Pisces, on my 8th house🙏
I didn't for a long time and I have sun moon and Mercury in the 8th
Anyone study it?
i am not sure "labor is the 12th"
I study to become an x-ray "nurse" right now. I have mercury and venus in 8th house also 8th house chart ruler with my virgo ascendant.
@@R_GhostX9 cool! Good luck!

My sun in sagittarius (8th house), my Rahu also in sag 8th house. Currently working in gov institution and yes Im really intuitive doing tarot vedic astro numerology and this mystic things as my soul calling. Dunno where it goes in future what i am fully to do.
I have my sun, mercury, Venus and north node in Virgo and aswell as the 8th house. Trying to understand it all better 😅Great vid
Love your top.
I have (all in Libra) moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto and what not in my 8th oh and Lilith too..
I enjoyed this!
Very much appreciated ❤ (from an 8th house stellium creature😅)
So the SUN becomes so important, its the KING, we are all following its movements which literally shapes our lives, a nice new way of deciphering these concepts, 👍👍👍
What a.different perspective! Just a question..does the 8th house represent legacy?
not sure what "legacy" means - by that is probably 12th
Mula moon in the 8th seems a good match with its meanings, doesn't it ViC?
Would it not most signify medicine and chemistry too? Those little bacterias, chemical structures etc are barely visible and especially with that vitality signification of the 8th.
I loved this (:
I have Rahu in my 8th house (Pisces)
