Lovely sculpts Gav and some really neat bright colours. A joy to see. Happy New Year to you and the family. I hope you have a great 2025 and happy modelling!
Hi Gav hope you and your dear wife had a good Christmas and a good new year to you both while I'm thinking about it. Yes this box set is fantastic to paint up I had a box and painted them to go into my human army of the old world from GW along with most of my ECW figures and they fit in a treat. Very nicely painted and because these troops tended to be mercenaries they were allowed to wear whatever they wanted in colours, excellent paint work as always , take care marra Terry
Amazing figures to start with, then add the paint work, man Gav those are pretty cool!! Love the colors, but the facial painting really draws my eyes there.
Very impressive my friend they look great yes I often thought of doing some of them but like you mentioned the bright colors sort of scared me off but one day I will have a go
They look superb Gav. Really bright colours show the details very well. I’m about to dip into the Italian Wars and am just waiting for some new paints. Can I ask, will you be using a wash on these when they are completed? I normally put a wash on my Napoleonics, but don’t want to spoil the bright colours. All the best for 2025 mate.
My own thoughts are if you want them bright is to not wash them as the was will unify the hi lights to some degree and tone them down . To be honest the varnish will bring it down a touch but with non display figures we don't really have much choice . Happy New Year marra ! Regards Gav.
Whenever I see Landsknechts I'm reminded of superb example on the cover of Military modeling April 1981 , the main cover pic is a tank, so zoom in, I think it had done well at that years model engineering exhibition. re the katzbalger Matt Easton did a review of a repro on his channel.
From what i have been reading it didn't help they would often demand more money to carry out the army commanders orders if they thought it was not in their contract and that could lead to the commander making an example of them . Regards Gav.
Excellent paint job. Well done.
Thank you greatly appreciated . Regards Gav.

Cheers William i used to get copies of military modelling back in the eighties and early nineties happy days marra . Regards Gav.
@gavinbooth My father got it, he painted flats mainly, the earliest I remember is 1974, I still have a citadel catalogue from 1981.
I have some more large scale Napoleonic flats to paint at some point . Regards Gav.
I hate to tell you Gavin but I think they’ll sell pretty easily. These are popular but difficult to do well.
Cheers marra i hope they do but at the same time i would love to have a period army myself ! Regards Gav.
