What is the new Russian BMPT Terminator Tank?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 лют 2023
- This is the mighty BMPT, a Russian armored fighting vehicle that is armed to the teeth and specialised for anti-infantry work in urban environments. Sprawling with missiles, autocannons and grenade launchers, the BMPT has been given the unofficial nickname “Terminator”. The BMPT was designed specifically to solve this - with plenty of gun elevation and enough weapons for any potential target. The BMPT only entered service with Russia in 2018

People just assume a great many things and have already forgotten how good the West used to say Russian tanks were (proven beyond all doubt they do not even come close to what was initially thought). But I will add that it is in the interests of the military to make out that your potential adversary has better kit than they actually do (along with the military industrial complex) for a multitude of reasons... Most of which come down to lucrative defence contracts (Money) and sometimes if the people that will end up using the equipment are lucky , that they really wanted something that was very good...

Alot of nato servants lost their lifes by trying to engage it with javelins or simmilar fast depleting weapons in UKR/nato arsenal.
what country has something similar? this weapon is a rethinking of war. this is exactly an assistant in the war in urban conditions. no one else has the concept of war in such conditions. a tank in urban conditions is a target, an armored personnel carrier is also a target. did you even think about it? and this machine implements a full-fledged cover for both heavy equipment and infantry units.
1:51 That is NOT the BMPT 3. The Terminator 3 will have a 57mm auto-cannon.
we doesn't know yet, it wasn't announced yet.
It is NOT a main battle tank. It supports main battle tanks.
Russia is ahead of the curve again when it comes to modern warfare. Very lethal system.
The main idea behind armor protection superiority is that a tank carriage of BMPT does not have high explosive tank shell payload in it like in ordinary tanks. While a common battle tank blows up after one hit to it's payload storage, BMPT can withstand many hits, because there is nothing fatal dangerous inside a hull.
Yeah but all it's weapons are ruined still

This can be said for pretty much most modern tanks lol
1 drone and it is dead , Javelin or any other modern missile will kill it , along with most modern AT weapons... You have to look at how they are being used too... People should think more as opposed to go with what is propaganda that has been fed to them by Russia... Looking at the comment section a lot of people here have not given it much thought as to how it may really fare in real combat. People forget that real war zones (in the thick of it if you will) are nothing like what you would envisage using something like this.
Armoured vehicle sights are hydrophobic.
Actually, the Ukrainians just blow away the hood ornament of the Terminator off its chassis with rockets and missiles.
The terminator has a few design flaws
One of the biggest is the cannons are not dual feed they typically load one with AP the other with HE
Since both shells have different ballistic properties they normally only use one gun at a time
A solution would to load HE shells With HEAT shells as their ballistics are similar (not sure if they have HEAT rds)
The other critical problem is the muzzle brakes are parallel and cause the cannons to flex around degrading accuracy considerably
A fix would be to replace the current style muzzle brake or not have one
Lastly the atgms need more protection
Now before i get bashed the problems were noted by Russian military among others why they didn't accept it into active service when it was introduced
By 2015 this project was shelved because the Russian government couldnt put an order because of financial difficulties due to western sanction, as this new tank required the installation of a new production line, new equipment and training of new workers.
Algeria asked for the 2 prototypes to be sent to them and after 10 months of testing they put and order of 300 units in april 2016 and PAID CASH IN ADVANCE to have the production line setup, basically saving the project.
In 2017 Russia put their order that should start receiving their 1st batch the very next year 2018 after the production line was setup and then started the Algerian order mid 2018 till end 2021. The rest of the Russian order was started after the Algerian order.
And that's why Algeria has 300 (some say over 300) and Russia recently started getting their units

It is basically a beefed up BMP-2M, 1 extra cannon, and a different and more armoured hull and active/passive added protection (T-72) most likely worse in the event it needs to reverse, compared to the BMP-2M, it's mobility gets more impaired with this hull. Also it is a nice crewless turret. It still lacks accuracy with the cannon, it is easily visible by how wobbly it is when firing and when seeing the shooting demonstration in the video. The real question comes down to, is it more cost efficient to buy and make loads of BMPT or to just have the BMP-2 modernised up to the BMP-2M?
Lacks accuracy? I'm not trying to be rude here, but would you bet your life on that? Because according to the reports from actual combat, its accuracy is plenty good enough to shred enemy positions, personnel, vehicles.
@@Max_Da_G Well I already see by your name that you might be a Russian fanboy, so you most likely will try to dismiss anything I say, without proof. But anyways.. Accuracy is fine with a few burst or even single shots. Doing automatic fire is when it fails to hit 1 single smaller target like another IFV or even tank effectively, it can easily hit a whole building with automatic fire or a good amount of trench line, but it won't be precision shooting at that.

@@zezenkop412 is it the BMPT from this video? Doubt
@@herress7716 why you need only this BMPT? why not any BMPT achievements?
This vehicle can hit its target only when it is standing still. Why is that? You are a sitting duck at the moment you are firing. That is why the Russian call this tank The Terminator. When you fire, you are getting Terminated... 🙂
The Leopard 2 is vastly more accurate at high speed than Russian Tanks (so not standing still when firing), it has the high-tech to see an enemy Tank before the Russian Tanks are able to spot the Leopard, and because of it's armor it can absorb 2-3 hits from a Russian tank and just as importantly it also has night vision unlike the Russian tanks.
If that is true then why has Ukraine been unable to destroy a single one? Doesn't that speak more of Ukrainian incompetence in not being able to hit a stationary target?

9 february 2023, first visually confirmed destroyed "Terminator" in Ukraine.
Like the one tank in march i believe? And then months later one hears the tank was disabled by an amtg and destroyed by it's own russian tank, so it doesn't fall in the hands of ukraine.
Confirmed destroyed. Nice. Not enough info why exactly and how it was destroyed.
Another red herring. 4xATGMs and enough ammo for the cannons to fire for ~50 seconds with no targeting system worth a snot for actually engaging UAVs or something useful...and How much does this thing cost??? ...and Exactly how many do the Russians have? ...and most importantly: How does it compare to a Marder II, CV90 or Bradley? All this system really represents is a perfect advert for its western-competitors. Cha-ching say the defense contractors.

@Russian Fans Please take your fairy tales to another thread. They have nothing at all to do with the topic of this video or my post. If I want fantasy, there are much better novels than the one you mention.
I don’t know why they oriented the muzzle breaks like that. It shakes the barrels. They should’ve oriented them vertically.
where r the sources?
This thing is a perfect example of what people mean when the say ''on paper''. The West isn't worried.
they should.
We will know what the inside looks like as soon as it meets Mr Abrams
Only if the pieces big enough can be inspected....🤣
This machine doesn't carry enough explosives inside to produce firework when armor be breached. Also it have lowest silhouette of inhabited volume than tanks and so its harder to deal a criticall hit to it.
Abrams must fear 4 super-sonic ATGMs with eight kilometers range.
They better equip Abrams tanks with "snorkel devices" because by the time they arrive to Ukraine, Russians will be at the bank of Dniepr river.
@@northman7946 Not those missiles! Also far more effective to let other weapons systems deal with them whilst the Abrams takes out the Tanks that the Terminator is supposedly going to 'protect'. But will any even meet any Western tanks? There are so few of them and if the Ukrainians see them the number will decrease further...

Track, gun, entry , but is probably a bit faster paced then a regular russian tank

Can shoot down heilocopter because it has the rate of motion abd fire with firepower. But heilocopters can still have a better air to surface missile that outdoes most machine guns.....death from above
T72 Terminátor 2 je v podobné situaci v armádě jako samohybné dělo Shtug III Německa v roce 1940.
Většina důstojníků a velitelů není schopna dostatečně rozpoznat kvalitu a účelnost této zbraně.
lol at the barrels wobbling when firing. That isn't going to be accurate
with 600, 30mm fragmented rounds per minute flying in your general direction, I wouldn't stand there and comment about their lack of accuracy.
@@RandleBeckford it should be very effective at murdering civilians.
@@RandleBeckford I’m think everyone will be safe. Especially when these guns start falling off from the vibrations 😂😂😂
@@RandleBeckford If you were standing 1500m away at it was firing long bursts I think you could. Russian 30mm autocannons are recoil operated, have very high rate of fire and low weight. None of which particularly promotes consistency. First couple shots should be relatively on target but afterwards it drifts all over. And guns themselves are not very relaible, prone to jamming. I would be more worried about single Mk44 Bushmaster II than 2 of these guns to be honest.
As side note I don't see much place for such vechicle. It has firepower of IFV but doesn't carry troops. While it has great armor on the hull, it's turret is wide open for shot and offers no protection to weapon systems.
In effect it's an IFV that doesn't carry Infantry...
@@Beneficiis First three or four shells may be pretty accurate indeed, and every HE shell is equal to hand grenage. You are pretty badass if dosent care about some grenage's explosions near. The main proporse of this machine is not destruction, but detection and suppression. It have exellent optic, every AG operator have their oun thermal visor, and can shoot at discovered target immideatly and independetly from main turret. Main turret is bullet-proof, and not so easy to be broken, someone needs at least heawy mg or also autocannon to do this, and reveal their oun position for other BMPT or tanks in process, but not deal enougth damage to foes (but ordinary IFV likely will be destroyed).

Russian 30mm autocannons are recoil operated
Russian have two types of 30mm AC for ground vehicles: 2А72 which is recoil operated, and used on lightweight platforms, and 2А42 is gas-operated and used on BMPT

Bruh, the Terminators got terminated when their head pieces stuck out like a sore thumb and got blown away. Russia believes that more tanks are needed to protect other tanks.
This is why the US military forces deploy infantry units out in the open along with tanks. They act like point-defense units to screen out enemy anti-tank personnels.
