He's such a nice and awesome man!!! I recognized him once in the lobby of the hotel we were staying. We were there for the bachelor party of my best friend and we were heading towards the gig he was playing a 3D set with Seaman and Emmerson. Since my best friend is quite huge on these guys but has a flaw when it comes to recognizing them, I approached Mr. Howells and he and the two other guys were so friendly... It still stuns me to this day because they not only offered to take a picture, they took the time as well to have a talk. There was no quick-quick stardom acting involved, just a bunch of fellows who were having a good time.
Legend has it... Danny Howells is the most low key, friendly and down to earth human you'll ever meet! And he's the exact same when he's behind the decks and mixer too (whether he's performing a small intimate club/lounge or whether he's spinning in front of 30,000 at the annual Ultra Music Festival in Miami to a sold out crowd. The dude doesn't have an EGO (AT ALL and he EASILY COULD LIKE MOST DO IN HIS PROFESSION). EXCELLENT STORY and it's things like that makes you like anybody like that let alone the OG LEGEND Danny Howells!!!!!

The dude knows dope tracks and how to layer them up in a dj set freestyling. He's Top 5 DJ ALL Time. John Digweed hand picked him for a reason to open for him for a reason. Digweed DIGGED Danny's sound and build up in each of his sets. His style is literally THAT UNIQUE I don't think any dj can copy or top his track list and how he works up and builds his entire set from start to finish. The guy is LITERALLY a LEGEND and the nicest guy... no big ego at all. Nice for a F-ing change right? Danny Howells is LITERALLY a MUST SEE where ever you are in the world if you see his touring schedule circle that weekend if he's in your town. He's been spinning like heck.. 35 years and still has the ear for new and old school beats. TOP CLASS (my fav DJ)... I'm biased when it's Danny. He's ICONIC... every new and old school DJ on the world stage knows his name and 40 years in the game and still top of his class. (Deep/Progressive House). He keeps it og.

Hit the club scene in Holkywood in 2000 just getting into house/progressive house. There was no Twitter and crap like that then. All word of mouth. Danny Howells is by far my favorite DJ hands down. He's low key by choice and a lot of the EDM "kids" these days generally wouldn't know who he is and would destroy any DJ. Such a vast range as far as his sets can go. He's a legend.
More than true, im not new to the scene but for the past 2-3 years ive been listening to techno. Before it was crookers, the bloodybeetroots, benny benassi, etc. I just admit that this guys is a true legend. I bearly started to listen to this guy and lucky me. He comes to a near town in a few weeks!

Danny Howells played the best set I ever heard. My friends and I still talk about it and it happened in 2001. I remember looking around and even the bartenders and bouncers were dancing. He fuckin' killed it!
Damn...even the first 15 seconds of the set sent chills down my spine. In my top 10 list djs for sure. This dj knows how to put together a set and "F" with your head/emotions.

Man, its been such a long journey since I saw Danny mixing at Vinyl in NYC, 2002. I remember he dropped Xpress2 - Lazy feat. David Byrne (fatBoy Slim remix) and bringing the place down! Definetely one of the best DJ's ever!

True DJ, working the decks all the time, these boiler room setups are my worse nightmare, people milling about in and around the DJ, DJ booths/boxes are a must for uninterrupted sets, get rid of these open DJ areas and let the DJ get on with it....great set deep deep

also, I'd like to add a reminder that DJs have 2 skills.
1. track selection
2. their ability to mix between their selected tracks.
#2 has been diminished by modern sync functions (even on Pioneer Nexus 2000 mixers so no MIDI controller hate) so really the value people have for DJs should really be about their ability to choose great tracks. Can a 15yo choose great tracks? Yes.
Will they be flown around the world like rockstars for it? Probably not. They're usually inconsistent. But I just felt it was prudent to point out that none of the tracks that Dannty is playing are his tracks nor did he have any involvement in the production. Contrast this with say Maceo Plex wgho has a liek 80-90% ration of tracks that he made. Don't put DJs on a pedestal, but at the same time, value them for the right reasons.
I can guarantee you that Maceo was influenced by Danny Howells during his fruition
37mn23 : Universal Experience by DJ HMC. A secret weapon tune back in the 90's from Aussie Dj and producer HMC who later on went by the name of Late Nite Tuff Guy in the edits and Nu-Disco spheres. If you can grab a copy at Discogs do it, it's a timeless piece.
