- Unfortunately dealing with latency, normally leaves us with no 'live' reverb in Presonus Studio One. Here is an easy workaround!

Thanx I learn alot for your videos I switch 2 months ago from PT all your videos helped me
Fantastic. I just finished a track where I recorded the guitar parts dry and, although the amp tone itself was good as it was done externally, it wasn't much fun playing without reverb.
Didn’t know this-I’ve always changed the buffer size to like 64 (or smaller) from 512 for latency issues when recording lol. Thanks 😊
Glad its helpful man :)
I always reduce the audio device buffer size for recording and add a Reverb as an insert when recording vocals. Sometimes I have to reduce the number of instruments being played while recording to reduce CPU loading.
Mike, I've learnt something from this, so thanks very much for the video!
My pleasure Mike, thanks!
A great video. I have a solution now to a problem I have had for ages. But didn't know how to fix it. Thanks Mike 🙂
Wow It's easy, thanks Mr Mike for making it easy for me.
Hadn't thought of this. Really handy.
Glad its helpful Kevin :)
@@studioonerevealed Any chance you could suggest a link or something to mixing small group, acoustic-oriented, music? Think jazz and folk. Almost all of the mixing tutorials relate to mixing giant productions, 30+ tracks and such. I'm surprised how hard it is to create a nice acoustic space in the mix with a couple guitars, acoustic bass, maybe a solo instrument like flute or harmoica, maybe a brush kit.
@@studioonerevealed Here's the sort of thing I'm after. ua-cam.com/video/Z38Op4n68kQ/v-deo.html
Awesome! 🙏 Thanks
Thank you :)
That's a great trick! Thank you Mike!
What I did in Cubase (works the same in S1) is just add an audio track, insert a reverb (not a SEND) or whatever FX and turn monitor button on..then adjust the effect amount you want..monitor button off on your vocal channel..zero latency
Waaay too complex solution dude. As I see you don't have low latency monitoring enabled. Just enable it and everything should work, no need to set up a send with prefaders enabled...
Excellent tip Mike. Thank you.
Great info. Thanks for sharing this information.
Very helpful. Thanks Mike.
Great solution. Many thanks.
that's what i'm doing with all DAW. put the predelay reverb to 0 if you have that option
Thank you so much for your content. You've helped me tremendously and helped me be a better mixer. I've got studio one 6 and I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I have with the software. I've clicked the studio one tab and then the installation option. However, installation failed for impact xt kit and sounds, electronic audioloops, bigfish audio loops and kit, and a whole bunch more. Can you guide me on what the issue may be, and how I can fix it? Keep up the great work!
Hey Mike, I didn't know you had a channel centered around S1, how come you never shout it out on your main channel?
So, what we really hear in the headphones is only the reverb effect when we're recording?
And the delay time on the effect is in reality the latency time + the delay time set in the plugin ?
Well, in the headphones, we are hearing the direct sound from mic (without it passing through the DAW), plus the reverb sound (from the DAW).
Ok I thought the original voice wouldn't be heard as we have the effect 100% wet. And the fader at 0. Thanks
Excellent!!!
@@nico-zh4eo Headphones are plugged into the interface/preamp... the dry vocal comes from there with no latency. His example is for an interface with no reverb capability. Mike's point relates to the desirability of also hearing reverb to help the singer/performer lock into the pitches, etc... simply a performance feedback reverb.
Thank you, very good! Many greetings from Germany
This will become a great channel based on Studio One. Great style of explanation 🧡
Thank you
Very helpful! Thank you for posting!
Wow..!! So interesting tip.!! Thanks Mr.Mike..!! 👍
Great tip. I actually thought of this a little while ago before a big vocal session. I didn't use a send though. Just popped a reverb on the channel as an insert, set it to 100% wet, and used the channel fader to blend the reverb with the direct signal from the interface. Worked like a charm 👌
That's a very neat technique. Thanks for sharing!
If your listeners might want to experiment with a not too costly non-latency reverb - or other type of effect - they might want to try using the Pipeline plugin to send the channel signal out of their interface to a physical device that can then be returned to another channel on their interface which can then be monitored, totally free of any latency, as well as being able to record that effect to a new track.
Awesome and super helpful!
