@@facelesssilence well yeah but at least ya still have the book. Depends on ur preferences though. I don't mind just having epubs of everything i've read.
i read The Name of the Wind on 7th grade and I used to joke I’d graduate high school without having read the third book. I graduated 3 years ago. Still no book :(
@@hummingbird8707 Don't make the same mistake i did. I was forced to read the book out of bordem due to the fact that book 3 still hasnt been released and the fact that people couldnt shut up bout it. Till this day i have been yearning for book 3.
I highly recommend you read The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang. It’s super political, dark, the magic system is fantastic, and it’s another book that’s full of characters that you don’t really like but still love. It’s a little gross at points but I think it’s right up your alley (I’m currently reading book 2).
Regan! THE POPPY WAR BY RF KUANG! An epic grim dark fantasy full of political intrigue. It’s right up your alley!! The second book was just as amazing if not better!
The Way of Kings is truly the best! Started 2019 with The Way of Kings and this year with the second book. I try to take long breaks between them since they’re so dense. Wholeheartedly agree!
Ahhhh yes!!!! Fantasy!!!! 🐉 That’s my favorite genre. I actually just released a video on my top 5 favorite fantasy series, so that’s pretty cool! Love your videos! 📚
I needed this video! I am newer to adult fantasy and it’s overwhelming when you know next to nothing about the authors in the genre.. thank you! I have a place to start
when I try to think of the best books I read in the last decade, I realised that I actually started reading(like, the proper-books reading) only in 6th grade (2016) So half the decade passed by learning how to balance studies, playing and summer vacation....😂😂😂 and the second half passed while reading Harry potter, Hunger Games, Truly devious, Sudha Murthy's fiction, non fiction and mythology books, Divergent trilogy, The fault in our stars, Eliza and her monsters and couple of other YA standalones
Reagan, I'm literally losing my mind over here! Please help! So, there was this book you talked about on your channel a while ago. It was a fantasy book. It had red pages. It was like...over 400 pages. It was about a weird sickness or plague or something..,?
I'm doing a read-along for the Stormlight Archive books this year! I read them all in 2017 and there's SO much in the books that I definitely need to reread the series. Also, Vicious is still one of my all-time favorite books.
Book of the Ancestor Trilogy by Mark Lawrence; The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff; The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson; Legacy of Orisha series by Tomi Adeyemi; An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir; The Poppy War series by R. F. Kuang… I could keep going lol
The city of Brass and Foundryside sound my kind of books. My adult fantasy books TBR is growing because of the best books videos 😅 You sweater is really pretty and cosy looking.
Love this video Reagan! I love this video! I hope you are doing good! I try to watch your today in Instagram but it kept buffing I don't have good service. But I hope you are ok
I tried to read A Darker Shade of Magic and just could not get into it and felt like I did not understand it for a while. I will give it another try so I can get to the sequel!
I've been wanting to read the Lightbringer series for AGES but something always gets my attention first. I think it's time I hit the bookshop and buy them all
Two YEARS later and Rothfuss hasn't released Volume 3. What a Schmuck. I bought the first two years ago, choosing to read them when the series was completed. I may never read them.
Picked up the Way of Kings yesterday at a take one / leave one bookshelf and immediately came to your channel to see if it's a good Sanderson to start with. Now I'm ready to dive in!!
Your content is good but you put way too many commercials in each video, and it is really annoying. I really want to watch your videos but I am stopping till you take it down to 1-2 ads per video like most of your fellow booktubers with good content.
Need the third kingkiller chronicle 😭😭😭😭. I read the Fifth Season and half of the Obelisk Gate this weekend. Honestly obsessed. N.K. Jemisin is a brilliant writer.
Absolutely, I LOVE this series, it's so charming and I love how the author writes so matter-of-factly. I've read all three and enjoyed each one immensely. I love the relationships between all the girls, sisterly and friendly, and the romances are so sweet! The annoying thing is I can't stop picturing Sherlock Holmes as Robert Downey Jr. or Watson as Jude Law! (Not a spoiler, the synopsis of the first book mentions them.)
I made the mistake of reading The Name of the Wind before looking up that the third book hasn't been released. I'm dying to know what happens. Also if you're looking for another adult fantasy series give The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind a try! I'm nearly all the way through and I'm loving it so much. :)
I'm only just dipping my toes into fantasy. I bought THE WAY OF KINGS by Brandon Sanderson because I've heard you raving about it. lol Now I'm reading A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE and I'm at book three: A STORM OF SWORDS. I'll start reading V.E. Schwab's books this year, too. It all sounds like a really good time.
Just finished Muse of Nightmares (v good ) finishing Wicked Deep - current read A Curse so Dark and Lonely (excellent thru page 106). Ordered A Hand on The Wall per you! This "Best Book Decade" I have for future reference but Have City of Brass!! Keep at it!!
As much as I am also eagerly waiting for the next book, I just can't resent Patrick Rothfuss just because he have given me The Name of the Wind. I will always love that book.
I completely agree with The Stormlight Archive being my favorite series of all time. I am about to start Oathbringer and am so so excited. I genuinely enjoyed Wise Mans Fears but unlike The Name Of The Wind there were a couple sections that I wasn't entirely thrilled with. I could have seen the Felurian arch shortened dramatically.
Idk if you’re into the paranormal category but if so please read the adult paranormal series, Charley Davidson series! Love this series! Follows a sarcastic female lead character, part-time private investigator and full-time grim reaper, who has some intensely hot dreams with a mysterious entity who enters her real life and just complicates it. It’s definitely a verrryy lengthy series, I think about 13 main works! ( disclaimer: has some very intense steamy scenes lol)
Great books! One of my faves of this decade (of my entire life, really hahaha) is ASOIAF series by George R.R Martin, still waiting for the next books, sad hahaha
Did anyone read books like The Unwanted's series by Kate O' Hearn. It has a very young feel to it, but it has a great story ark that you can tell has been planned out well from the beginning. At every twist and turn you realize that it makes soo much sense from book one. It goes through a series of characters and has themes of redemption, neglection, and loss. It's a great story-ark that really brings out your imagination.
I almost put down The Fifth season at first because the use of 2nd person perspective through me at first. I have never been so happy that I marinated in that choice. The broken earth trilogy is one of my absolute favorite series of all time. So if the 2nd person perspective turns you off, give it a min I promise that choice pays off in dividends!.
I don’t remember if you’ve read it, but one of my favourite fantasy books is The Poppy War. Also Spinning Silver. And I agree about City of Stairs. I loved it! Then I hated how a certain character died in book 2, and so have been quite reluctant to read book 3 (especially considering that Sigrud isn’t really one of my favourite characters).
You should def do a read along for the Way of Kings bc that thing is massive and it would for sure make it less intimidating for new comers who want to read it (like me!)
Love the video. I read this fairy tale retelling in its indy form and loved it, Thorn by Intisar Khanani. The author would be in my top 10 from the decade.
I read Foundryside a few months ago on your recommendation, and really loved it. It was original and really well done. I guess I'll have to start The Way of Kings soon- but I'm still working my way through The Wheel of Time....
Reagan why are you constantly distracting me from the books you’re talking about with the most amazing sweaters?!
Victoria Russo she really does have a collection of amazing sweaters, doesn’t she!

I graduated 2 weeks ago. Still no book....
Regan must have a super strong wrist after holding all those huge books for so long haha
It comes with practice 🤣
Bro that's the soul reason I audiobook Sanderson. My weak rists can't handle his books lol
It has been 9 years since I started waiting for the Doors of Stone, curse you Rothfuss please end my suffering D:
I feel this
Honestly I’m unmotivated to start that series until it is released. I don’t want to start it and have the ending never come out.
Sounds terrible but I’m glad I’ve hated both the first and second books, because I can’t stand waiting for books to come out

Ohhh... I’ve never clicked faster 🥰
I want to go to the bookstore again but I just went yesterday and spent *literally* all of my money >_<
