Thats because the solo design doesn’t provide all the primary air at the bottom. The rising heat actually pulls some air in over the top to pull smoke down and inso it gets extra time in the heat to get broken down...
Half and half, since it has to cool down to stow away its out all night and aince I pulled it out for winter I use to much to put it away. I've had it for 10 months and u can see its in pretty good shape. The manufacturer warns that it will discolor from heat no matter what you do. Thanks for watching!!

Go horizontal Jenga style like you did, it does truly work the best. Only exception is stacking vertical and longer above the lip and make a Swedish Torch. Awesome stove and fire pits.

Thx for showing this method. I expect this will be my new way to light my Solo
bonfire fire pit!
Glad you liked it! I love upside down fires, hope to experiment with a larger version soon. Thanks for watching!
Thx! Will be using this technique for my Solo.
PS... That awesome pit deserves the Yukon!
Thanks for watching!
Cool. Thanks for the post!

Cleanest burning fire I have seen on the solo, or any other fire in my opinion.
Do you leave it out under the elements are do you stow its way when it’s not in use?

I dug a hole and put my solo stove in it. The flame is now ground level. Full body heat. When it's above ground our feet always feel cold. Try it out
How does it get the air to the bottom intake holes?
@@JT-nz7wf i made the perimeter about 6 inches bigger than the solo stove. Have no issues with it.
The yukon would fit even better in your stone pit.

Thanks for watching! I'm editing a video right now about a slightly larger fire of the same style, hope you'll like it!
Pro tip: Use a flat file on your ferro rod to shave down those “speed bumps” on your ferro rod. 👍🏽
Sounds like a great idea! (And the neurotic guy in me would save those shavings for something else) 😆
This is exactly my concern with my kids. Solo should sell a table to go around it. I like the bricks around it. This is what I will be doing!!
A table or something available around it is actually an excellent idea!!
Great burn
I got the bonfire take it everywhere
Shout out to fellow Sun Diegan :)
Born and bread 👍 thanks for watching!
Is that a ranger? Solo stove or bonfire?
Judging by the size of the firewood I would guess it was the Bonfire model
Its not the largest model (the one I believe came out this year. Mine is about 22in across. Thanks for watching!
So it’s the Yukon?
Bonfire
Bro your in your backyard, just use a lighter and throw the tinder in, light it and add the big wood.
Can't help it, I enjoy using anything else more than a lighter 👍😁
You used the same clip twice - 16:30 is a repeat of 13:53.
I figured that out much later, sorry, I really don't like the editing part much, working on getting better. Thanks for watching.
NICE! TLUD.
Your using fire starting sticks I know what you used
Yup, we call it fatwood
Egész amerika a fát égeti a solon , Ne legyen füst,mindenki éhes, senki nem fázik ,és nincs füst !😉
Thanks for watching! Oh, can you translate please?
