As a child the sounds of our washer and dryer soothed me like nothing else. I would find myself pushing the pair together and making a makeshift bed on the tops of the machines. The dryer top providing enough warmth to keep me comfortable. My mother would find me there either asleep or reading. When the washer was done its cycle I would simply turn the timer dial back to the start and doze off again. Now I'm a 44 year old veteran who finds it hard to sleep due to issues with service related PTSD. The only thing that helps are these comforting sounds. I find myself running the washer or playing this video when times are tough just to feel that comfort again. Thanks for the upload. Never thought so many were like me.
I used to sleep on the floor next to the dryer, because it was warm, and because I could see the gas flame through the intake vent in the front kick panel. Like you, I would run the cycle over and over again; I’m sure I made a difference on our utility bills.
@@richardlittlewood8709 really? I can't say I have ever heard of this book. At 46 years old this was something I can remember doing in the late seventies and early 80's.

When I used to live in an apartment with my mom, stepdad, and grandma I was having an awful time. Mom was a huge drunk, very bad to the point where I watched her get taken out via a stretcher numerous times, and on top of that she'd drunkenly argue viciously with my stepdad more times than I care to remember. Luckily there room was right by the washer and dryer, and I'd CRAVE their sounds because it'd drown out their fighting and to this day I feel weirdly relaxed whenever I hear them. I'm so glad these kinds of videos exist.
I'm a fan of white noise in general. When I used to visit my mom's place in another city there was a place near the laundry room that had both the furnace and washer and dryer in one room. I think what I really like about this video is the sound of something in the dryer with a metal zipper or snap you can hear banging against the dryer walls while it's running. THAT sound takes me way back to even my childhood.
Thank you for this it reminds me of being young and laying on the washer and dryer in my parents home and when I found this I could Not believe there was something out there like this and I listen very single night........ 💤🦋
I heard of a booster club that repeatedly met in a laundry room and came up with several creative ideas that they won awards for their efforts-thx to white noise!
Interesting, I've never heard that, but I could see it. White noise is supposed to help with focus and when I make these videos it often times feels kind of meditative to just sit while I record the base sounds, which is especially true when I make ASMR videos for my other youtube channel.
This is so satisfying to listen to or even just to look at. Just seeing the laundry room with that cold dark feeling makes me want to take a nap. So relaxing
Some people think I'm a weirdo for needing this to sleep. It's become my go-to. As a child or laundry was just a closet like space. But I could hide there. I'd be out of everyone's way and almost be forgotten, and this same sounds drowned out any noise. It continues on.
Nah definitely not weird. In my current place the washer and dryer is right outside my bedroom. Sometimes I run the clothes through just to get a good nap in.
Is it just me, or is this picture cool?! I LOVE those old school Washing Machines with that awesome "creeky" sound. I just need the detergent smell... And bleach...!
@@realpooksI agree! I use Arm & Hammer Liquid Detergent, and Snuggle Fabric Softener. I just hate that We have an Old Industrial Basement that I can’t sit in and relax and listen to the sound, or enjoy the smell as I wash.

couldnt agree more....the washer/dryer sound combo is the best white noise out there..."next to the sound of an oil furnace or those old metal screen fans"...when i was a kid i would sit between the washer and dryer and go to sleep from the sounds and vibrations they made, i realized i loved the sound of white noise and never looked back

this is one of the best. I like hearing the set up of the cycles and other ambient sounds. funny, every now and then there's what sounds like a "whoa!" in the background.
This brings me back as a child I would get behind mom washing machine and fall asleep. Ìn the winter I would cover up in a blanket and out like a light.
one of the best washer/dryer combo vids on here...love the sounds and it really helps me unwind and sleep so good at night, thank you so much for this wonderful gem u created
when I was staying with family years back, I was down in the basement with the laundry machines. on laundry day i slept in extra long because the sound all morning would make me want to sleep.
Not sure how plants react to it. My dog seems to appreciate it on stormy nights - but that could be because it helps drown out the storm sounds more than anything.
A friend of mine has put ailing plants and even a goldfish in a goldfish bowl of water on the washer and dryer with positive results. And as mentioned before her cat rests on the dryer on a special towel when it's in operation, but only during the cold autumn and winter seasons.
She says that new plant owners tend to over water their beloved plants and the heat of the Laundry room tends to dry out their root base after awhile. But the white noise of the dryers and washers may also calm the plant down and rejuvenate it. Same with the fish and cat I guess...the vibration, heat and sound just as it does for the human beans!
I love this but my daughter likes it too she said that the dry sounds like a I coin or metal butt is what wakes her up when I play it in the living room on the surround sound system lol
Most of them. The waterfall videos are stock footage with my own recordings mixed in. As the channel has started to grow a little bit I'm hoping to actually make a trip to Colorado this summer to record a bunch of the waterfalls out there and really step up the quality.
its not 10 hours it 10 hours and 29 secs and I when I was looking on the bar at the other side of my pc I saw a title of this video with min mouse showing her butt but why does that have to do with laundry

You are right as the story goes that they inadvertently used the room as their condo's activity room was too active with too many distractions.
Often I'll turn a fan on at work to shut off the outside world/noise. It works. I'm surprised it doesn't put me to sleep.

Less than a minute and she is out, Grandpa knows how to put the baby to sleep. :-)
If you put about 10 full cycles back to back of the newer maytags from 2012 that would equal 10 hours because 1 full cycle is an hour in that washer
I have about 10 hours of laundry that needs to be done if you need more footage LOL I'd even let you wash it all
