Doug: "I would love to see a sequel to this."
Pixar: NOPE, CARS 3!
Damn it all!
+Costin Alex
Also incredibles 2
Anger: So you don't want us to see do a sequel, Pixar?! Oh sure, not a problem at all. I'LL JUST SHOW YOU WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE! *AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!*
To be fair though, Pixar damned us with Cars 3 before Inside Out came out. Let's just hope that when Pixar starts to come up with more ideas, we do get a sequel for Inside Out rather than other ones.
+Costin Alex I don't think they actually care that much about Cars though. It's probably just Disney commissioning them to make more money. The toy story films makes sense, they actually care about those characters and stories and want to take them to new places. Plus they are finally doing sequels of their other good movies like Finding Nemo or Inredibles, and they actually waited long enough to give them time to plan good follow-ups.
Lewis Black as Anger is as good of voice casting as you can get in a movie like Inside Out. This too is my favorite Pixar film, before that The Incredibles held that spot.
I love that guy!
+KTChamberlain Personally I though Hader as Fear was the best casting call in the movie. His voice almost naturally sounds panicked so it blended with the character even when he was just talking and not acting afraid
+SuperSacredFaceVA Overall I'd say the voice casting in Inside Out was dead-on perfect.
Agreed
+KTChamberlain All of the casting was perfect, but Lewis Black as Anger was a stroke of genius. They even had him drop a reference to homosexuals (the "bear" joke) and cursing. It was just inspired casting.
This is actually the one movie I've ever actually gone to a movie theater just to see it twice. I thought it was that good.
How many of you guys want to see Doug go through all the Disney Channel original movies next year?
+Sailor Italy ME. Most are so terrible- I'd LOVE to see him rip them apart. XD
Luna D And then there are the first two High School Musicals >:D
Sailor Italy Those are bad, but if his HSM 3 review means anything he finds them harmless (personally, the worst ones IMO were Zapped and Let it Shine).
Luna D Haven't seen those. And I'm guessing I shouldn't
Sailor Italy Don't bother. Zapped is sexist as all hell (it's about a girl who's dog obediance phone app can control boys and ONLY boys. I'm not making that up), and Let it Shine has too many religious references (most of the premise is about church and going 'against' it by enjoying rap music. Again not making that up).
I'vve never cried from a movie but Jesus Christ this movie came so close. And I watched it on a god damn plane. I'm on the same boat as Doug, this is my favourite Pixar movie by far, and Top 5 Disney movies ever.
I am going to say this Pete Doc is the next gr8 thing in animation world
I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!! Voice acting was awesome, every actor brings their roles to life, SUBLIME animation from Pixar (this movie looks gorgeous!), very likable characters and a brilliant story and screenplay that moved me to tears and made me relate to Riley in terms of trying to find myself and still having a hard time understanding my emotions even as an adult.
One of my favorite animated movies and my personal favorite PIXAR Movie. IMHO a far superior movie to Frozen.
I managed to see this at the Edinburgh film festival and it was one of the best experiences I have had. There was nobody there under the age of 20 and there were many tears.
This may seriously be one of my all-time favorite movies.
Not only my favourite Pixar film, but it's also my favourite movie of all time. It's like a miracle.
I'm always going back to this movie on Netflix I felt so funny and sometimes wanted to cry watching this, when the sequel or tv show comes out it will be iced by me
I saw this in theaters with my friends and I cried it’s amazing
Do Straight-To-DVD Disney sequels in DisneyCember 2016
I can't even imagine the amount of work you put into this Disneycember. It's very appreciated. Thank you.
Doug you've made my day thank you...
who doesn't at least adore this movie I can't even imagine
I dont. I was actually bored throughout most of the movie. And people saying its original is irritating. Toy story: Something happens that causes a negative emotion for woody. because of this, woody and buzz end up lost from andy, and they have to find their way home. Inside out: Joy and sadness argue because of something or other, because of this, they are away from HQ and have to get back. Its the same story copy and pasted with some difference
+JImmy I guess you're entitled to your own opinion but wow! I never thaught I'd hear or read those words that's why I left that comment allow me to go and rethink life. I don't understand what you're talking about it seems to me that your description of these two movies is severely different
basically, 2 important characters argue and end up lost from where they are supposed to be. When they finally work together and stop arguing, things work out and they manage to get back to where they are supposed to be, wood and buzz get back to andy, and joy and sadness get back to hq. Its a very similar basic plot, with differences with the characters.
+JImmy I don't see why that's a bad thing, basically most of pixar movies have the same formula and people are fine with it because with every movie they release the characters are different, the premise is different and the setting is different
I lot of my family don't like this movie.
They either say they don't get it or they find the characters annoying. Which is just, No!
I didn't cry in any Pixar movie except for this one.
I'd love to see you do a Disneycember review of Mars Needs Moms.
It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on one of Disney's biggest bombs.
Good news for you, Doug. Inside Out 2 is confirmed.
I would honestly love to see how emotions would deal with if they were being bullied, like the toll that it gives a person, and even seeing emotions deal with depression. Their is so much that would be done and I would love.
Yeah, I seriously hope there's gonna be Inside Out 2, because this movie is just..... amazing.
I really loved the concept of this movie. Of any Pixar film to do a sequel to, I definitely agree that this one earns it :) Fantastic Disneycember! Thanks for doing these :D
My favorite joke in the movie was when they were on the train and they knock over the facts and opinions. They look so similiar, don't worry I get them mixed up all the time. Riley then met a guy named Bill and got a show on Fox
I agree this is my 2nd favorite movie, ever.
what's the first?
I thought way too hard about this movie and it took me down a sad and dark place before the end of the movie.
Actually they did produce a short, it's called "Riley's first date?", but you do make a point. Everything you said about this is true to what I thought, you however left out the fact that maybe some of the supporting characters appear one sided in their emotions, but the director actually commented it was a little phony but there's only so much you can do with limited time. But as far as creative and engaging films go, this one takes the cake. I would love to see sequels and spinoffs and shorts on Inside Out.
I loved this movie as Pete doctor's best film yet and deserved the Oscar as finding dory will win Pixar the Oscar again as 9/10 for me and most people out there!
I love this movie
Is this my favorite, no. Is it the most creative, definitely.
SPOILERS i guess...
Who didn't think that the imaginary friend was going to die? seriously as soon as that pink bugger was introduced I was just thinking "Yeah you're gonna die". People keep talking about it as if it just completely surprised them and was just a utterly emotional scene while I was just sat there feeling like I should get back to doing more important things. It didn't grip me.
+Lectar117 Death doesn't have to be a surprise to be sad. That, and some people thought Bing Bong was going to be another plot-twist villain like in so many other Pixar movies.
+Nuggetmaster1000 What I was getting at was that scene didn't really have any emotional impact as it was so predictable.
Lectar117 It did for me, and lots of other people, the main reason being that despite knowing he was gonna die, I didn't want him to. And the line he said, "Take her to the moon for me" now THAT ripped my fucking heart out.
+Nuggetmaster1000 Well I guess I'm happy for you if you can enjoy something like that even though you know what's going to happen way earlier on. Me, well I suppose I just don't roll that way.
FYI if you want a example from me as a emotional death in a animated film it would have to be the scene in "how to train your dragon 2" didn't see it coming as soon as the character was introduced and they were well developed which made the loss a lot harder.
+GamerMikko Well that's different genius. Not every film is just a matter of good vs evil. Suprise surprise many films are a lot more *gasp* complex
This is also a very adult movie, too.
Most of its comedy isn't based around "Hehehehehe. You said that" and "Look at this DIRTY JOKE we snuck inside here!". A lot of it is actually making stuff that you actually kind of have to have read a book or paid attention in school to get. It also doesn't talk down to its audience, it doesn't go "wink wink nudge nudge" to tell you "You're supposed to laugh here!". No, it actually presents it in a very organic way, like the triple dent gum bit where the little custodians don't stop to tell the audience to laugh or gesture for them to laugh, and neither do Joy or Sadness. They just go "Ugh, that's YOU?!"
As much as I liked UP, even I have to say that this really tops it. UP had an amazing first 10 minutes, and the rest while good never lived up to it for me. I still like up, but Inside Out's pacing and message were just so consistently strong
Why wasn't this as hyped up as Frozen? This was so much better, and taught so much more.
(Spoilers ahead!) I saw this in the cinema with my friends and first cried when Bing Bong disappeared. But when Riley came home after she tried to ran away and her parents just hugged her I BAWLED my eyes out. Right in the cinema. All my friends were really confused :P
This was a good movie and all, but I can't help but be disappointed at how weak the cause of Riley's inner turmoil is. Homesickness is hard, but just imagine how much more powerful this movie would have been if Riley's parents had divorced. Divorce is something most kids nowadays can relate to, and the kind of change it imposes on kids is kinda like homesickness, but even more intense.
If Inside Out included divorce... this movie would have taken the world by storm.
Happy New Year, Doug! Keep doing what you do. :)
Man, great review and great video!!! Congratulations for your job!! Thanks for publishing!
Off topic I'm sure but what was the background music for this video called? It really touched my heart
The name of this piano song is called Minimalistic Piano and Strings by Christopher Wiseman and Christopher Purner. You can find it here: www.musicloops.com/music-download/minimalistic-piano-and-strings-18273/
You’re welcome.
I think it's kind of funny that Riley's parents are mostly ruled by Sadness and Anger
I honestly felt like Riley had way to perfect of a life to relate to.
I'm crying just thinking about it ;_;
One thing I disliked about this film is that Riley really isn't that believable, I mean what 12 year old would honestly think she's moving into a castle with a dragon or a house in a tree. Then later on she dreams about unicorns, I mean is she on medication what 12 year old dreams of unicorns.
The sad scene wasn't all that sad to me, the character who disappeared was only in it for like 5 minutes. I felt sad at the end of Brave because we saw Merida's Mother throughout the entire movie and when Merida almost lost her, I felt like crying too.
The film that saved Pixar.
My ratings of the Pixar films:
Toy Story (1995) - 7/10
A Bug's Life (1998) - 6/10
Toy Story 2 (1999) - 8/10
Monster's Inc (2001) - 6/10
Finding Nemo (2003) - 9/10
The Incredibles (2004) - 8.5/10
Cars (2006) - 5.5/10
Ratatouille (2007) - 8/10
Wall-E (2008) - 7/10
Up (2009) - 8.5/10
Toy Story 3 (2010) - 6/10
Cars 2 (2011) - 4/10
Brave (2012) - 6/10
Monster's University (2013) - 5.5/10
Inside Out (2015) - 6.5/10
The Good Dinosaur (2015) - Haven't seen it yet.
To be honest I feel like Pixar has sort of been losing momentum recently. Not everything they did in the early to mid 2000s was great, but they felt more original. I feel like starting with Toy Story 3 they've been re-using story and plot element that they have already used.
When Riley grows up she gets a new emotion! Lust!
Though I don't think inside out the best Pixar film ever made. As there were some plot holes in it. But it's most certainly, at best, a *competent* film.
You don't "have to nitpick". It's desperate. Please stop making excuses to hate things in the film even if you do *love* said film.
That said, I loved this movie.
If you are going to do by any by popular demands, please do When Marnie was There, I know the dub technically wasn't done by Disney, but I still would like to hear your take on it. Maybe you could also do Lupin 3rd and My Neighbors the Yamadas if you are feeling generous.
Now that Disneycember is over how long do you think it's going to be before Rob and Doug start doing Steven Universe vlogs again?
This was the best idea for a Pixar movie, but I feel like quite a few flaws keep it from being a masterpiece
This movie had so many plot holes and bs watch the YMS review
YMS?
Foxyguy your movie sucks
Sarah Walter YMS nitpicks to the point of making him blatantly trying to hate/lower the score to just try to not like movies as much as others
its ok just ok
OMG YOU NEED TO START UP DREAMWORKS-UARY AGAIN!!!!!! PLEASE THERE ARE SOOOO MANY MORE!!!!
Since you seem to be running out of material, next year you could review some some of the disney cartoons. Not just the saturday morning ones, but even some of the old ones. Y'know, like steam boat willy, and some of the other classic ones like that.
'Bambi 2', please!
What emotions run Zuko's brain?
Omg that bg music where can I find it?!?

I hope for more traditional Disneycember reviews for Good Dinosaur and Force Awakens get added (maybe when they are on Blu-Ray) I just enjoy the shorted edited style more and can't sit through a 30+ minute "live" review, sorry.
The collapse of Honestly Island derailing the Train of Thought was one of the most brilliant visual metaphors I've ever seen in a film. Ever. Period.
13Zeroither Well, spoiler warning I guess.
There's a scene at the start of the third act where Riley is mentally breaking down and preparing to run away and take a bus back to her old home. The emotions *inside* are riding the literal Train of Thought back to the command center to restore the happy memories and sort everything out, when Riley steals her mom's credit card and uses it to buy a bus ticket, this causes Honestly Island *inside* to collapse. It crashes through the rails of the Train of Thought derailing it and taking it down too.
It's a visual metaphor for how dishonesty is literally derailing Riley's ability to reason, and her emotional breakdown is now dictating her actions without moral and logical tenants to guide her.
13Zeroither No problem! I was going to respond right away but I was away from my computer and answering on my phone would have been a pain for how long it would need to be.
*SHARK BOY AND LAVA GIRL DID IT FIRST*
Bobby Ferg They may have had a train of thought, but mostly that felt like a cheap joke to me. I think Inside-Out used it in a far more meaningful way.
@@MrTombombodil the 100th like was mine.
7 years later, and we’re already getting a sequel to Inside Out!! I wish I could see the look on Doug’s face whenever they revealed an Inside Out 2 😂
You can see his reaction to the announcement during one of his “Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep” streams. I can assure you that he was just as excited as you’re hoping we was!
The one idea I can see with Toy Story 4 is Toys vs Technology. With how we see kids demanding ipads, smartphones, and gaming consoles, they seem to put aside traditional toys for something new and shiny. It'd be an interesting warning to all bad parents to nurture their childrens minds rather than cave in and throw something at them to make them shut up. That'd be interesting.
ummm.....
That time forgot????
But it has trixie from TS3
Love your vids!
(Btw, that would make an interesting idea for the 4th movie...)
+Anime America That... could work really well. Maybe they could have Bonnie meet this other kid who has a smartphone or a 3DS (or a knockoff) and beg her mom to get her one of those as well because of how cool they are, and maybe have the toy crew get a little jealous of them as well (3 showed us that the toys are not above interacting with technology. Maybe Trixie or Hamm can work the tech and get the crew amazed at this awesome new stuff, and maybe have Woody, Jessie, or Mr. Pricklepants get extremely worried [Woody and Jessie having to go through abandonment yet again, this time with no hope of finding a new owner, and Pricklepants because of his love of being theatrical about things]). But then maybe show that kids who play with toys -- kids who learn to develop their imaginations, practice different social situations, etc -- are better adjusted than those who rely entirely on technology for their entertainment. Merely one possibility of many, of course.
And who knows what Disney/Pixar will go with.
+Anime America HI Anime America
Up and inside out has the same creator.
+Llamaseatfruit and monster's inc
+Jimbo Green
I wrote to him asking for an autograph but he was busy with Inside Out it said. :)
His movies just keep getting sadder and sadder.
*director
Including Monsters Inc
There is NO NEGATIVE EMOTION. They all serve their purpose if you let them, and figure out how to control them. *sniff*
+andrewkful I couldn't have said it any better, myself, Andrew.
+andrewkful Beautiful
THANK YOU! That's just what I told my friend, she's a dreamworks fan and she said she didn't like Inside Out because there were four negative emotions and only one positive.
There is no such thing as a negative emotion. Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear are all natural and without them you wouldn't be you.
+ThatNerdGirl 7 If she said that after seeing the film, she did not get the point of the story. Riley FELL APART because Joy and Sadness were missing! Without all 5 emotions at the controls, you will fall apart. We see it happen to so many people, everywhere, just look in the news. The best you can do to help is to tell them that it's okay to express their feelings. They MUST share their thoughts with someone they can trust in order to get better. It is fine to cry.
+andrewkful What's wrong with calling them positive and negative emotions? Positive and negative still make a balance.
What sold me to see Inside Out was a special needs child psichologist saying how groundbraking this movie was for mentaly handicaped kids to actualy relate to themselves and to express their emotions to their carekeepers, as now they could take a "Inside Out" toy and point at it, or mimic how they are acting in their head, which in turn made both child care and plain treatment so much easier. A movie about emotions that can pull that off must be good, and when I saw it I was blown away by how it was even better than what I had expected it to be. Just like there are only a handful of videogames that have left me dumbfounded (Journey, Last of Us, Ori in the Blind Forest), Inside Out is one of the few I can list that left me touched and mindblown by the end. Bravo
That is fascinating. Maybe one of the brilliance of this movie is making psychology more concrete and easier to grasp. Personally I can understand psychology very well. My mind can make great leaps into the abstract. Some people can't though. So they would be better off with symbols. IMO the hardest to grasp is Freud and his model of the psyche. It is worth checking out though. When I do figure it out, it really amazes and inspires me. I can imagine a movie about it. I don't know if it could be made understandable to kids though. In Inside Out there is a bit of a Freudian scene. The characters get down to the unconscious, or whatever they call that realm.Riley has a deep and suppressed loathing for broccoli and clowns.
As someone *with* special needs, I was thrilled to see a movie that said that having emotions other than happiness is okay. I haven't seen emotional health handled this well since Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
Idea for a sequel. Riley is 15 now and Sadness decides to take charge and holds Joy hostage in her room with duck tape around her mouth. While Sadness also steals some of Joys DNA so she can descise as joy when needing Riley to pretend to be happy. It would have to be rated R. LoL. What do you think?
The best part is, they asked psychologists about depression and child development. I like that it shows how that shit ACTUALLY happens and that depression can be connected to change and not every single case must be medicated. That it's individual to the person and situation.
A psychologist not giving drugs? Wow! That's rare
@@jabber1990 psychologists literally can't prescribe anything. Psychiatrists can, because they're medical doctors.
I can't believe that I cried when an imaginary pink elephant who drives a wagon that flies when he sings died.
He didn't die. He was never alive in the first place. He was just forgotten, and wiped away from existence. He's a figment of imagination. Or at least he was, until... Well, you already spoiled it...
+TheGCritic He played a big part in the movie so when he does go you feel emotional. Even the scene where Sadness comforts Bing-Bong was a nice touch.
It's sad because it's part of growing up... letting go of your imaginary friend and growing up
+TheGCritic after I saw that scene I shouted, " BING BOOOOONNNG!!" *cue and I will always love you song*. But seriously though I got a little misty eye after that scene.
We did it Bing Bong... We...
*looking down, seeing Bing Bong being erased from existence*
"Take her to the moon for me"
I swear, I never cried so much since I was 10 years old.
Bing Bong: Take her to the moon for me.
Me: "cries uncotrolably"
Inside out honestly made me look inside myself and wonder what my emotions are doing up there. I've also started trying to name my islands of personality like rap island video games island girls island sleeping island
One of my favourite things about this movie is the lesson it teaches parents. Yes, of course the message it sends to kids is VERY important, but the message to parents is very underrated. This movie does an amazing job with showing that it's okay if your kids start acting out or changing. It shows that them being moody or yelling might be an indication that something more is wrong, but not that your kid is a bad kid. That instead of just telling them to be their own self and just be happier, you should give your kids a balance of space while really listening to what they need.
Can't count the number of times I would lash out at my parents around Riley's age and would get grounded, when all I really needed was for someone to listen and give me a hug.
That, and the fact that as a parent, you have to teach to your kid that, sometimes, its ok to be sad, scared or angry. If you denied those emotions, you can't learn to control them. A very important lesson that I will use with my daughter.
I don't think this is just a good movie, but this is an IMPORTANT one. I needed this movie. I'm 18, and this movie helped me to find a way out of a year-long bought of depression. I had never heard this moral, that you should embrace sadness and that it will help you heal. I had heard things similar to that moral, but never illustrated so brilliantly like they do here. It was a moral that I had to figure out myself, and didn't fully come to grips with until I saw this movie. I know and am so happy that a lot of kids like me, the ones who push their sadness aside because we believe that being happy will solve all our problems, will benefit and learn so much from this movie.
Wise words.
I remember watching this two years ago when I was depressed about graduating highschool and going to this college in my hometown instead of dorming at the college I wanted too. While watching that film I thought to myself tf is she so upset about San Francisco is so nice??? It kinda helped me realized that memories have good moments and sad moment but other than that it didn't help me at all
This does nothing to a depressed whos also psychotic...
This movie sucks
@@Jattel_2006 Yeah, as Doug said, the humour wasn't as funny as it could have been and the general idea of personified emotions has been done before but they did creative stuff with it and fittingly enough the emotional stuff worked.
Tripledent Gum is my favorite joke!
+redeyedbandit1251 Everyone has their Tripledent Gum commercial in their head.

Next year, Disney Sequels. Even if they're not released in theaters! >:)
He reviewed Jungle Book 2
+Silvia Fingerotter Yeah but he's not doing the other sequels that were direct to video
+Toony17 With good reason.
+MartialKaiju98 “MartialKaiju98” Official He did them.
OYEntertainment Yeah, it nearly killed Lindsey to watch them all
watch it become a really crappy TV series
+SoniKwolf1498 This is the kinda movie I hope they don't touch again, it's so perfect creating a sequel might ruin the experience, I can definitely see the emotions joke littered and become a trend in other Pixar Films, like their credit scenes can pay a ten second homage to Inside Out, like maybe what Toys think inside their mind. It was like in the first Cars how they paid homage to their other properties with a Cars spin to it.
Pixar doesn't usually do that. Unless shorts count.
+SoniKwolf1498 Herman's Head
+SoniKwolf1498 Kind of like how dreamworks is making a croods netflix original series.
+SoniKwolf1498 It already exists. It's called Herman's Head.
Dude...the end of the imaginary friend story arch...I couldn't breath, I got so choked up!
I know. That's the first movie scene that made me tear up in a long time.
Bing Bong's sad face right before he jumped out hurts my heart. And then he's so happy that Joy can go on to try to save Riley. That's love. I choke up thinking about it.
Annihilated me.
jdzencelowcz I also love ,well not love but respect, how they don't "magically" bring him back. That would be too forced
@@jinx1987 they didn't bring him back because, like the rest of this movie, this character moment is actually a metaphor for something WAY bigger. It's saying that, sometimes, you have to let a part of yourself behind if you want to go foreword. You can try to live in the past, but you condemn yourself to being hangry, sad and unsatisfide because you can't control the fact that things and people change. Sometime, even if this hurt, a part of you have to go if you want to be happy.
4:06 Well, they could have made the clown a lot worse...
"Excuse me sir, do you have Bing Bong trapped in a can? You do? Well you better let the poor guy out! Wa-ha! Wa-ha! Wa-ha!"

I thought that this movie was extremely overrated.
+NicPlays "Minions" is overrated.
+NicPlays Well it was better then Good Dinosaur at least people don't talk about that
+NicPlays Of course it was, nowadays everything that a lot of people like it is called of overrated.
+NicPlays At least Inside Out didn't become another Frozen

This movie really helped with my anxiety and OCD, it's my favorite movie. Ever.

I totally agree.

***** You don't have ANY kind of computer acces in your home?
+Tropic Moon and yet again the undertale fanbase manages to crassly inject it into any topic of discussion with the subtlety and finesse of reefer madness.
+Tropic Moon
True that!
This movie just went right into my top 10 favorite movies of all time. So friggin amazing
D0nutLord same here. And its still my favorite pixar movie, with Coco right under it.
Inside Out is not only my favorite Pixar film of 2015, but it is Pete Docter's masterpiece since Up.
The story felt emotional and heartwarming, the character development grows very well and interesting, and the animation (both the real world and the inside head) is just phenomenal. Both the balance and the message are the main focus that I really enjoyed. Heck, the last 30 minutes of the film summed up very well, very satisfying, and (of course) flawlessly.
I will love to see the sequel to this with growing-up characters, better development with the story, and more of the same emotional theme as the last one. Don't let me down, Pixar! I will be waiting for the upcoming films in the next 6 years or so. Continue as you please!
Breaks the whole thing of "no sadness, only joy". And as odd as it may seem, Criss Angel quoted how pain is beautiful (no sadism), because you know you're alive when you feel it.
Can you please rip the hunchback of notre dame sequel a new one? I would love to see that.
Or even better, a Nostalgia Critic review on it.
I would even be happy with that.
Oh RIP IT TO SHREDS IT WAS AWFUL! I can already imagine what he'd say about it, especially on the gargoyles and the villain.
PLEASE DO IT, NOSTALGIA CRITIC!
lol amazing! "Hey kids? Remember in the first film where we taught you intolerance towards different races is bad, and that not all gypsies should be stereotyped as being thieves? Well, they shouldn't! That's ridiculous! Oh but those carnies! They're bad news!"
You...literally just told us about what intolerance can lead to in the first movie! Witch hunts, genocide, mass kidnapping, cruelty, racism and then you say "Oh yeah, they weren't bad, but these people will rob you blind!" Dont instill more!
It is probably time to shift to another collection of films next year. Maybe stuff from other animated studios like Blue Sky, Sony Pictures, Universal, hell maybe even Nickelodeon. Does anyone REAAAALLY want a month of Disney's lowest effort work?
in the last scene. i swear you could hear people in the theather sobbing, giggling, all at the same time. is THAT good.
I like to think so
Inside Out is actually my 2nd favorite Pixar film (behind Toy Story 3) and my 3rd favorite movie released in 2015 (behind Avengers 2 and Force Awakens). It's always great to see Pixar release something spectacular.
I agree, Inside Out deserves a sequel! :D
Yep
Yes!
No the legacy will be ruined
You can say that Big Mouth is a spin off
All kids should watch this movie just so that they understand emotions and life. I have never seen a kids movie that goes about these things in such a mature and beautiful way.
I'm really hoping a second one is made with Riley going threw puberty.
Yeah puberty is when the emotions go crazier
Wish grabted
You got You're Wish.
Easily my favourite movie of the year
+Gavin48 Though we all thought Anger was the villain
+Gavin48 Terrible taste.
Mine too
+seanpatrickcain2 I Think that's why i love the movie even more. They could EASILY have taken the generic "I'm anger and so I'm the evil guy" but no, they show how every emotion is needed, which i Think only makes it that much better.
+Jasper Daugaard lol what you said isnt generic, it is just stupid. what you said is making me laugh so much.
Next year could you do the Jim Hensen movies? Not just the muppets, but also movies like the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, I know most are not technically by Disney, but who cares.
There is one thing that I always disliked about Up that I really enjoyed about this movie, and it was the heartbreaking scene (no spoiling.) Where EVERYONE loved the heartbreaking scene in the beginning of Up, I personally found it to be way too depressing way too quickly. Yes, it's a good way to relate to the lead character, but it almost felt manipulative. In a way, it was on the right train, but the wrong track. Inside Out, however, fixed that problem. They built up to the heartbreaking moment, you got to know these characters before the moment which made it really pay off in the end. It earned the feelings that Up's opener wrung out of everyone, and knowing that they're both directed by the same person, Pete Docter, it shows that he learned from Up, he improved in the areas that he needed to (which, admittedly, were very few to begin with.)
+Archer Slam-BAM I'll say it is a shame that Up has such a GREAT opening. I'd say the best 15 minutes in any Pixar movie........ and then the rest of the movie just never gets that good again.
Yep, not going to lie; though that is my opinion, I do know that's not what everyone else thinks. I understand why - I'm fine with that. :)
+Archer Slam-BAM How is it heartbreaking? No character can die in that setting. They're memories. Aside from some sort of brain trauma you don't forget things like that character.
My issue with the beginning of Up is that, at least to me, it was a foregone conclusion. When I first saw Up, I knew that Ellie was a goner just because I figured that they _had_ to be building up to something. (It's the same reason why I can't fully enjoy Titanic, only on a much lower scale) Now, it was beautifully done, but I can't help but be slightly bothered when everyone places it on some high pedestal and say that the rest of the movie sucked jut because the intro was great.
This reminds me of someone I talked to who claimed that The Empire Strikes Back is actually a very flawed movie because the big battle happened way too early near the beginning of the film on the ice planet instead of near the end like in most blockbusters. People have got to understand that storytelling doesn't have a fixed technique. Just because a scene is emotional doesn't mean that it's supposed to be a payoff. The beginning sequence of Up is simply the setup for the rest of the film. It's just done so well that people reacted strongly to it. The payoff is learning how to get over that grief and realizing that you can't live in the past. It's no coincidence that its main character is an old person while Riley is an adolescent. I took my parents (who're near the retirement age) to see Inside Out and they were pretty much bored through most of it. Perhaps because they don't relate to the problems of adolescence anymore. It's not a flaw, it's just a different story.
