- 100 million students across the world are today using Khan Academy, an online platform where anyone can learn any subject for free. Founded by Salman Khan, resident of California, Khan Academy has revolutionized education. TBH is honored to announce an in-person conversation with Sal Khan. A brief Q&A with the audience will follow.

Sal Khan is a blessing on the humanity! I cracked my GRE all coz of Sal without no investment in any class or anything online. At the end I just donated some amount to Khan Academy

Sal's bit about humanity is 100% is true. The warmth he exudes in his videos accounts hugely for KA's success. Plus the bite-sized content that entirely stands on its own. And so many videos with his personal touch! Great to see him on BH. PH and BH are taking Pakistan forward, one step at a time. May your tribe increase! In fact a similar all science subject teaching lectures is given by Patna(India) based techer who is known as 'Khan Sir'. He is famous for presenting tough chapters in lucid way. He has few million followers. I request you to visit once his virtual class.

They both r imparting their knowledge for free which is a huge contribution to societies.
I wish we had such frank discussion happening in lndia also .But yes ,my both kids got excellent education and managed to clear five rounds of interviews for Microsoft and Amazon and land the jobs .Still there is hardly any discussion on many prevailing problems
Khan sir 's Academy of India is different with Khan Academy of USA. but proud to be an Indian sub-continent, as both were related to India only. Pakistani People call south Asia but in real it's called Indian Sub-Continent (Indian Baresagirr).

Allama Iqbal University played a huge role in terms of offering correspondence courses about 40-50 years back.
I agree there is very little incentive in the society for education. We can't put our kids in silos, even if we have very curious kids, where are they going to end up? abroad definitely? we can't even bring back our HEC PhD scholars who really want to come back..

My entire career depends on online learning every thing that I achieve academically are mostly is the output of online learning I think in this modern time the more you make you kids familiar with online education the more academically and non academically he/she performs.

The elite society in Pakistan does not consider education to be a right. Look at people living in Islamabad and how many of them have kids as their servants who are school going age. We have a class system which thinks the poor people do not need to learn. All they need to learn is the religious education, and the other education is only for the upper class. We need to change the mind set, which is a very hard thing to do. The other element in the room is the religion. There can not be a debate about religion in Pakistan. Look what happened to Governor Taseer. There needs to be discussion about the role of religion in Pakistan. Critical thinking cannot be developed when you have so many strong feelings about your religion.
It is wrong to say that "I think, therefore I am". It should be "I am, therefore I think". The French guy said that because, before his time people just obeyed higher authorities and did not think for themselves. A person in coma is not thinking, but is still existing.
Well it was a very important turning point in western world.. we in general , and I as a Christian forget.. how regressive and unintellectual Christian have been..

Pakistan needs very long term social, educational and political changes, kind of drastic changes.
I have interacted with few Pakistanis and found many of them top rated cheats, business built on duplicity and cheating.
So hate against every thing particularly india and hindus.
Knowledge comes not by falsehood, hate and cheating. Simplicity and love for others could be of great help.
Very long term consistent effort and commitment is very helpful.

I think people of pakistan should stop calling bangladesh aa a east pakistan. East pakistan not exist in the map of the world.Its a reality & try to live in real life. East pakistan was a kind of colonised name given by pakistani ruler to the people of east bengal in 1956 when pakistan failed to impose Urdu as national language in east bengal
