  • TERRIFYING SIDE OF NATURE
Nothing could have ever prepared me for the doors of hell in this life. Visiting Bromo mountain was surreal with so many mixed feelings: happiness, scare, excitement, fear of heights, and the terrifying idea of falling in.
Even before I was able to see the volcano from the stairs, I could hear its crazy noise - hard to describe that bone-chilling noise that sounds like an industrial area, or big machinery at work.
As much as it was a terrifying experience to be one step away from not having escape again, it was also exciting to be on the top of the mountain. Being there also reminded me again how small and helpless we are as a human race, all we can do is appreciate the scenery and respect it.
Would you dare to walk on the edge of the Bromo volcano?

Thank you Davud for taking us along. There were incredible views while climbing up Bromo Volcano. Some parts of the trail were scary. To answer your question, would I dare to walk on the edge of the Bromo Volcano. The answer is definitely, "No!" The trail is too narrow. One wrong step and you are falling into the Volcano. That's not a little fall either. I'm not sure when the last time it erupted, but it would be my luck the dang thing would erupt. As far, as the noise, I thought it first sounded like the ocean then it sounded more like a rumble or thunder. Thank you for sharing the incredible views. --Ray

The flowers that you have bought are called edelweiss flowers which are often called eternal flowers because they can last up to 10 years and only grow on mountain tops. Actually, these flowers are forbidden from picking and are protected by Indonesian law except from the results of plant cultivation and are usually used for traditional rituals of the indigenous people there.
To enjoy a very beautiful sunrise in the Bromo area, there are actually some of the best locations before you go down to the sandy area where you took this video. To get to that location you have to arrive at the location around 4 am

4 years ago, I went to Bromo, and the stone railing which is supposed to be a safety measure to prevent accidental fall into the crater has been broken, just like your video.
In fact, a local tourist dropped his phone on the slope like 2-3 meter away, and he crawled forward on the slope to get his phone through the large gap below the railing. Everybody tried to stop him, and he ignored. Fortunately, he managed to get his phone back. When I saw that happen, I didn't swear on him for being crazy, but I swore on the local government for failing to provide even a BASIC SAFETY MEASURE for the visitors.
4 years after....now 2022, the railing is still not fixed. How much does it cost to build a railing on the perimeter to prevent accident ?
I won't even consider going back there if they don't even care about your safety.

The religious significance comes from the South East Asian Hindu past, different from the Indian one but having similar mythical origins. In India you hear about the so-called Holy Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar (Shiva). So, that same Brahma which according to their beliefs is the universe itself, is pronounced as Bromo in Javanese, Indonesian.

I've been to Indonesia in 2010, 2015 and 2018 to study nature there for 24 years in a large library in Europe. I will tell you an information which at first I did not believe, but after I researched it together with 4 researchers from Russia. That Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru are actually not friendly with each other. Because the eruptions of these two volcanoes have been documented internationally and nationally.
Mount Semeru has a characteristic that is much more violent than Bromo, because Prambanan Temple and Borobudur Temple were once destroyed by the explosion of the Semeru volcano and claimed many lives, suffered total damage to more than 10 villages simultaneously covered in volcanic ash and also experienced an earthquake. Borobudur and Prambanan temples have now gone through a period of renovation because they were destroyed by Semeru. The eruption at Bromo is much more beneficial for tourism because the volcanic ash that is released settles and hardens over time, creating a land called "SAND SEA".
The difference between these two volcanoes is very visible, even though they are not far apart and have different eruption histories. It is feared that if Semeru experiences a major eruption again, it will have to accept the consequences for the people living around it. Because Semeru is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia which is close to Semeru.
The characteristics of volcanoes in Indonesia are different from each other, for example: Mount Krakatoa which has a child called "ANAK KRAKATOA", Mount Samalas which has a child called "RINJANI" and has a grandson called "BARU JARI". Rajabasa volcano does not get the effect of the eruption of Krakatoa in 2018 - 2022 because Mount Rajabasa is a mountain that has a shield underneath. Mother Nature in Indonesia is truly amazing (One above all).

Dear Davud, you have asked us to write our feelings on this video....but do you really read our comments?😊😊 However....I want to thank you immensely for showing us this amazing volcanic mountain....it was extremely scary even while watching from our homes....I wonder how you were feeling right there....the sound seemed like some heavy water fall....very very scary indeed 😊

You should leave from the hotel at 3 am to go to Penanjakan first, to see the sunrise and the view of the sea of sand from above Penanjakan, it's really a shame you missed sunrise at Bromo, that's one of the most beautiful views from Bromo, after sunrise, just go to sea of sand and bromo crater
    greetings from 🇮🇩🇮🇩 brother,
