Russian CV's will enjoy no losses during travel mode, and bouncy bombs can be dropped from further away than dive bombs still. DD's attempting to gunboat down enemy CV may receive a nasty return volley. But CV's will be far less effective vs DD's offensively.

He can never move his ship, derp his planes into the middle of the biggest AA bubble on the map in a full uptier, and still get at least one kill per game. This rework has essentially buffed CVs without actually giving surface ships sufficient counterplay.
apparently surface ships will get this bar that can be filled when their AA is active, and once they're full, it increases the AA damage, and reduces the manual AA cooldown (this discourages CV to attack the same target over and over). Manual AA seems pretty broken so far since it does percentage damage from the squadron, but I'm not sure how effective that is in practice.
Yeah, I feel like Russian cvs might be even more broken with this update. Can just drop the whole squad right on someone without taking DMG until they begin the strike 😂
Theres probably a reason why they chose Haku, Midway, and Audacius for the initial testings. I hope they are thinking about how to balance the USSR CVs given current results.

This looks much smoother and more fun to play than last patch altough i think the reserve planes should take a fraction of AA damage being able to do 4 strikes in heavy AA is a little cracked lol
Very informative TT. I am very surprised how little damage happens with those angry red DFAA flak bursts. Normally that would be a death sentence especially when there is more that 1 ship as in your video. Also it seems there is an immunity period from the bomb drop while zooming up into travel mode.
I mean yes you have full reserves but the damage amount and the fact that downed planes don't get replaced are so crucial in the cv gameplay that I think most people who play cvs might not want to after this also the attack animation takes to damn long you basically guaranteed to lose a plane doing it idk man seems like they are doing all this complicated coding with the new modes and animation just to have more problems come up
I still think that the change is stupid. It looks so artificial and bounded by a pack of rules. Always losing at least one aircraft on descent is also stupid mechanic.

well, maybe this nerf/super buff, is coming at a good time for me, i only have a few of the campaign missions left to do, to have them all 100% done. 3 of them are CV only; 10 mil credits not so hard just takes some game play. 1 high caliber, this makes it look easier to get and the hard one for a non cv guy, getting top xp 5 times with a CV. time to say goodbye to so much hard-earned karma when it becomes time to play these missions. good thing it has no value.
There are still problems and with the typical Wee Gee aproach...not much will change so everything is somehwat ok Especially since now you can just fly wherever and don't pay a price for mistakes
No need to be a crybaby to understand how strong CV are currently and how much power they are gaining (immunity zones and able to drop closer than before, if ships are spotted and after going immunity not loosing planes).. This is why CV are Perma banned for everything except random since RTS carriers (and WG banned also hybrids because they break the flow of surface combat in high competitive modes eg CB or Kots) Your comment seems made by a CV player that only enjoy CV for their power level to piss over everything and everyone, not for the gameplay they provide

In live version if you head in a blob of ships you are melted very fast. And those planes are not regained fast enough. When people play it smart and keep near their allies using their AA as well, CV can't really do much. CV strength grows to the end of battle, when less ships remain and less AA remains. But again only if player preserved planes. I would change the fighter mechanic to make it more interesting - remove fighter spotting entirely, increase fighter engagement circles and decrease reaction times. That would encourage better defense of other ships by friendly CV and decrease DDs whining.

Answering your question - there is a typical situation when enemy team forms two large groups and CV player does not have much to do, either try to harass enemy CVs or wait until anyone splits from the group.
