Soooooo glad I found these videos. You could teach a 2 year old. Your lectures are WAY better than my professor. I don't even listen to him in class I jut put my headphones on and watch this. I wish you could teach me everything.
I am so happy that I clicked on your video. My professor rambles about throughout her videos making it very difficult to stay engaged. You're straight forward and informative and this has given me so much understanding of the Microbial World. THANK YOU!!!
thank you for making microbiology fun, I can't follow my professor so I have learned everything so far through your lectures! I would add links for followers for additional resource videos though, because I want to see but can find direct link
Hi, my name is Jaycee, I'm a MLT I'm looking to take my board test and looking for someone to help my study, please help. Your classes are great , if anyone is looking to study hard working at getting through these classes please contact by email.
I just watch these videos because they are fascinating! I was very sick from breast implants, and through my research, naturopaths and support groups, I found a lot of info that enabled me to understand the various illnesses and infections that attacked my body throughout every system. This is awesome to watch, even though it sickens me. It took a long time, eliminating sugar and gluten, among other things. A capsule firms around the implants to protect the body, and when they were removed, the tissue had formed a hard enclosure that looked like overdone bacon.
Hi Dr. Kerschen! Thank you for taking the time to post your lectures for others to watch. I've enjoyed listening to your lectures and watching your mini videos. My professor is a wonderful person and does a great job, but she's not always able to explain in simpler terms and concepts like you are. I've learned a lot from your lectures already and look forward to learning even more. :) P.S. I've sent many of my fellow students to you as well.
Thanks for making Microbiology lecture interesting and understandable. Professors like that are hard to come by sometimes, so thanks again for providing these lectures for anybody willing to take the time to click. Look forward to checking out the rest of your content!
So glad for these lectures!!! My professor has a thick accent and is difficult to follow, but this is definitely a refreshing break from that scenario.
Question: Would it be possible to put a plasmid into a human cell (or into the genome, don't know what would have more sense)? If so, what would be the effects? Question: The only difference between subspecies and strain is the criterium (serotype, phagotype, pathotype vs. structure/ metabolism)? It is also a matter of hierarchy, meaning that I can have Species--> Subspecies --> Strain but never Species--> Strain--> Subspecies? I enjoy your explanations; hopefully you made some videos for neuroanatomy or histology, too.
Hey Dr Jim. Thanks for the AWESOME content. I need a text book. Im already a qualified TCM and Natruopath. However I had to leave my libary in Australia when I moved to the Pacific North West. Anyway, love your style of lecture, where do you teach? any online labs? I have a microscope that I got to study my soil as an avid permaculturist... and fell down the rabbit hole of the human, now being able to see it.... I may have gone a little crazy 😜 So any recomendations?
Can you please attach the links for the videos you use during your lecture in the description box? You are very helpful, and make it easier to understand microbiology.
THANK YOU!!! i was so damn lost in class because my professor is trash but your videos are helping me so much. where can i send you like an edible arrangement or basket of puppies??
Graet video Dr. Kerschen!!! I learn so much from you! you defiantly know how to teach and explain everything well! where can i find the power points you use? they are super organized and helpful!
for the periplasmic space with gram-positive cell wall, are there any linkages between the cell wall and cell membrane? or if no, how does it maintain the organization
Great lectures, thanks a lot! Just one request, do you think it might be possible for you to provide links in the description for the external videos, such as the one at 8:34, to avoid us having to type in the lengthy URLs?
Can you teach the microbiology class I’m taking for the next 13 weeks lol I’ve learned wayyy more with you in an hour than with my professor in 4 weeks
I've been searching everywhere. I'm trying to start a business and it requires lab testing. Do you think you would be willing to help me? They didn't give me a pass or fail and told me it's up to me. They didn't even formulate it into a whole number to a certain power. I have one lab that had a massive Total plate count (1,300,000) but every other bacteria salmonella, E coli, coliforms were just fine, then I got another test where the plate counts and everything was fine but the coliforms were 13,000. I'm having trouble understanding. I have asked so many people any won't anyone help me.
I am going to running circles around everyone when lab starts. My professors gonna think I'm a genius. Do you have a website or suggestions on testing myself on the information Iearned thus far. Im 4 chapters in and want to test myself for understanding. Im about to do this 5 week summer class and I WANNA A!!!!
I made a (drum roll please) ....... A!!!!!!!! No lie in a 5 week class! Watching the videos I got the class before the class and my teacher used the same powerpoints and wouldnt give us a copy but BOOM I didnt need his bc Mr.Andrew prepared me with everything I needed! I was beyond excited to see that grade. I think.... I know I cried!
do you have these slides available for download? Im interested in using them with a few modifications for a course I'll be administering on microbiology for medical tech students (in Panama)...credit will be given where its due ;) Its a class for Spanish speakers so i'll translate Thank you
type it into the URL - unfortunately he didn't write the link in the description :/ EDIT: Ah wait it's in the playlist! Micriobiology Unit 1: Chapters 1, 4, 6
I have to disagree somewhere, you said that prokaryotes are simple, but even though they look simple they actually have complexed processes that happens on gene regulation level ad everything is also very strictly managed. Think about it
Soooooo glad I found these videos. You could teach a 2 year old. Your lectures are WAY better than my professor. I don't even listen to him in class I jut put my headphones on and watch this. I wish you could teach me everything.
Same, our professor doesn't go into detail in a simpler way
I have Microbiology starting this January and I'm watching your videos to be ahead!
You’re a life saver, we need more teachers that post their lectures online :)))
I am so happy that I clicked on your video. My professor rambles about throughout her videos making it very difficult to stay engaged. You're straight forward and informative and this has given me so much understanding of the Microbial World. THANK YOU!!!
that's usually how it goes. go get it gurl
thank you for making microbiology fun, I can't follow my professor so I have learned everything so far through your lectures! I would add links for followers for additional resource videos though, because I want to see but can find direct link
