It's actually hard to understand why this hasn't been the worldwide standard for a long time! I mean, we're talking about one cable and two sockets here. Sure, the technical challenges are certainly there, even if they are mainly due to the fact that there are no standards in shipbuilding on this subject. Ship owners should be forced to adopt a standard. It's really not rocket science! Good work Hamburg, hopefully this will become the norm!
I agree. I had the same comments. Where I live in Miami they finally added Shore power and they made a big deal out of it. As if it was some sort of innovative breakthrough. But this is not rocket science and it should have been done 20 years ago
