Still second fastest all-time even with David Neville running a bit slower for a flying start split. Wariner was only 1.5 seconds ahead with about 200m to go but he finished almost 3 seconds ahead. He was a great finisher in a 400.
Probably b.c he is married now and focusing on his personal life. After he stopped running the 400, he later ran the 800m and won consistently. And I can't believe the WR by M.J. has been surpassed this year, I took it so personally too.
If Jeremy Wariner never ditched Clyde Hart as his coach I seriously believe that he would have broken Michael Johnson's world record in the 400 because he just had some serious talent and that was his downfall from there but no doubt they say he is the 2nd best at this race in history?? I can't argue with that. He could have been better if he would have stuck with Hart as his head coach
+Dan B he just burned himself out and wasn't able to recover fully to compete up to his ability. He still does compete and does still win races. He was the US indoor champion not to long ago but it just never translated to the outdoor season. He can still run good but ??? we don't know if he would have hit that 42 second mark if he hadn't left his coach Clyde Hart. Honestly!! He probably would have broken his own agents world record, and that is the great Michael Johnson and why? Dude was loaded with talent
Leonel Lomas He Would Never Have Broken Michael Johnson's Record. He Was Nowhere As Consistent As Butch Reynolds, Danny Everette Or Michael Johnson. He Was Decent...
Man this is intense... I've always wondered though... How does the U.S. always produce such great 400m runners? I know we didn't have anyone in the finals in 2012 Olympics and we lost to Bahamas in the 4x400m but before that was undisputed US dominance in the 400m... How the heck do we do it?(Btw, this isn't an arrogant comment at all if this is what some of you are taking away from it...)
there are some serious problems when they dont have the runners running strictly in lanes. did anyone else notice the pushing and shoving going on between the 2 guys running the 3rd leg, in the 3rd lane waiting for the baton. they were literally pushing back and forth on one another
Ok thats cool, but we didn't have Wariner or Merritt, and had a backup in who had not practiced with the 4x400m prior to the olympics, and was not a 400m open runner.
@DrakeBrunette so why is he serving a 2 year ban then. rules are there for a reason and if an athlete is unsure of what they are taking then ask a doctor, most athletes dont take cold & flu remedies just incase there is something in it which is on the banned list, no excuses
@idontsignin Chill man, yes hes been banned for two years. Im only saying that there is a difference between doping on purpose and accidently taking in a substance that you didnt know was there. The punishment should be the same I agree however this whole thing started as "whether or not he is a great athlete" which I believe he is.
im sure u cant post a comment like that ever again cause kerani james from grenada is dominating the 400m races and is coming for micheal johnson world record soon, watch and see
@DrakeBrunette allan baxter for example failed a drugs test in the winter olympics in skiing after he won bronze cause he took a nazal inhaler which had a banned substance in it
@idontsignin I wasnt aware that he cheated...when and how did this happen? If its steroids or something of that nature thats messed up for him as an individual. However, he still is a very hard working runner with alot of talent so the "great athlete" statement still stands in my opinion. Assuming thats what the cheating was of course....
Used to be that way, but Cuba showed the rest of the world how's done. USA has stayed about the same at 40-400m distance since the 1936, rest of the world is catching up.
@idontsignin HAHAHA dude I just read up on it. He was taking Extenze which has that drug in it. He was just trying to improve his sexual performance. Now he must have some self esteem issues but I think that can hardly be known as doping.
Run over there heads?! Are you kidding me?! Well give him credit he does not hide his dislike for the Americans. NO COUNTRY can run with the Americans in the 4x400.
What are you talking about his dislike of the Americans, he COACHES AMERICANS. He said they ran over their heads because on paper they literally did not have the individual times at the time to run that fast on a relay but they ended up outdoing themselves. That's what he meant.
@DrakeBrunette he tested positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone. i failed to mention that he failed the drugs test 3 times. to me that isnt a great athlete. cheats should be banned for life
OMG David Neville's form is horrible.....I'm sure if he straightened it up a bit he would chop some time off his personal best in the 400m. Looks like he is in pain. Look at 5:50.
The amazing thing about Warriner is he looks like he's just doing warm-up strides down the back straight: 43.18!!
Amazing!
Jeremy Wariner was always poetry in motion when running!
Jeremy Wariner makes it look so freaking easy. He's got my vote, man I'm want to be at his level!
i swear wariner's sunglasses give him an even more relaxed look
splits is saw:
LaShawn Merritt: 44.35
Angelo Taylor: 43.70
David Neville: 44.16
Jeremy Wariner: 43.18
nwo4life
That's a lie
And finally, 8 years later, Bronze to Team GB. Thank you dope testing....
Jeremy Wariner has an incredible technique
But USA never put Warner to start WHY ?
Jeremy Wariner is just poetry in motion! Super choice for anchor leg.
Still second fastest all-time even with David Neville running a bit slower for a flying start split. Wariner was only 1.5 seconds ahead with about 200m to go but he finished almost 3 seconds ahead. He was a great finisher in a 400.
Being a Russian I was always cheering for Wariner. Because, he is an alien! Fantastic running.
I miss Wariner in the 400m
why did he quit competing?
Probably b.c he is married now and focusing on his personal life. After he stopped running the 400, he later ran the 800m and won consistently. And I can't believe the WR by M.J. has been surpassed this year, I took it so personally too.
SamsungLG he's only 32 years old as well
+Dan B That's means he can still run. Which makes me feel like he's missing out.
Age and life in general catches up with all the greats eventually. Even Merritt is beginning to wind down.
Jeremy Wariner was a beast!!!!
I love Angelo Taylor's form. And it's amazing how Jeremy Wariner made it look so easy. Great job, guys :).
If Jeremy Wariner never ditched Clyde Hart as his coach I seriously believe that he would have broken Michael Johnson's world record in the 400 because he just had some serious talent and that was his downfall from there but no doubt they say he is the 2nd best at this race in history?? NAAH his 200 meters was not so fast and in the end he had lots of injuries.
@@55cleon how is a 43.5 "decent", one of the fastest times ever
thnx for posting but it almost seems like this was a recording of a tv playing it back
None of them even breaking a sweat. Beautiful form and speed. Great Race.
From 6:47-6:53 Wariner has so much power in his legs hes trying to outrun the camera shot lol
Really liked Angelo Taylor's leg. He went out strong and kicked like a madman for that last 100--true Iron Man 400 runner.
my eyes!!!! my graphics!! SO GOOOD!!
Jesus Christ,Merritt&Jeremy On The Same Team? Its Almost Unfair. And The Crazy Part.Angelo Taylor Ran The Fastest Split 43.9
nuh, with Jesus Christ on the team it would be totally unfair
Nope Jeremy had the fastest he ran low 43
That 1st leg for Russia looks like a young Jerry Lewis!! 😆
Ato Bolden was wrong. Wariner didn't anchor the Athens 4 x 4 in 2004. He ran the 3rd leg.
Darrel Williamson was the anchor
we could not deny that those people were born with the talents of running~~
Wariner was such a talented classy runner
Jeremy Wariner makes it look so easy.
“Since Michael Johnson retired”…..speaks for itself! LISTEN
Jeremy W. Is a beast on the back end.
Lionel I agree with you,he made a mistake changing his coach.
the australian lead off man looks exactly like wariner
4:16 for the start of the race
Great performance!
Jeremy Wariner is so fast you could barely see him at the end of the race
This was a warm up race for 2012 Olympics for Bahamas
They had a great team
VALMON-watts-Reynolds & Johnson! Nuff said!
Got tickets for this event for London 2012!!!!! :D
2nd fastest all time performance, just behind the world record.
Wariner was like...a machine. I seriously think he is an android from outer space, that incredible running is non human :)
the recording of the TV cut off the times at bottom. At least it wasn't hand held.
Man this is intense... I've always wondered though... How does the U.S. always produce such great 400m runners? Cool, what comp was this?
Well done 👍👍
They got the Olympic record
Man, that was a nailbiter. Who knows, maybe by 2050 the Brits and the Aussies may be able to finish within 100 yards of the US.
7:10 camera needs to focus on 1st place, that's what we want to watch :P
I mean he was on the verge of breaking michael johnson's record before he got injured and now hes running like 44s and a low 45
Respect to Bahamas man...
Except Great Britain (1991, World Champs) and Bahamas last year at the Olympic Games in London :)
wow i watch this and then i imagine that im the US's
where was that ?????????????
there are some serious problems when they dont have the runners running strictly in lanes. did anyone else notice the pushing and shoving going on between the 2 guys running the 3rd leg, in the 3rd lane waiting for the baton. they were literally pushing back and forth on one another
A wrong is a wrong whether it is in the past or not.
@CognoscenteSkills do you mean the man at 1:16?
karani james has real talent n he is the best right now but there is a lot of work between running 43.9 and 43.18.
43.85 average leg on the US quartet, VERY FAST, VERY FAST
Jeremy Wariner ran a 43.23 split.
Ok thats cool, but we didn't have Wariner or Merritt, and had a backup in who had not practiced with the 4x400m prior to the olympics, and was not a 400m open runner.
I jus hope they win this year they looked kinda shaky in the world championship this year
@voted4bush they normally have blue but they have red because theyre in China and the Chinese color is red but its also one of our 3 colors
and those weren't even Wariner's really cool shades!
The day someone beats the United States at this event is the day the world comes to an end.
Ha ha
@DrakeBrunette so why is he serving a 2 year ban then. rules are there for a reason and if an athlete is unsure of what they are taking then ask a doctor, most athletes dont take cold & flu remedies just incase there is something in it which is on the banned list, no excuses
was this filmed using a potato
NEVILLE!

Times change. 1 year on from your comment. No American in the 400m Olympic final. Bahamas beat USA in 4 x 400m
click 4:00 to start race
where was nick symonds?
3:03 is he kevin or jonathan? i think he's kevin!

suprised its no blind handoffs
@idontsignin I wasnt aware that he cheated...when and how did this happen? If its steroids or something of that nature thats messed up for him as an individual. USA second leg won this race
Used to be that way, but Cuba showed the rest of the world how's done. USA has stayed about the same at 40-400m distance since the 1936, rest of the world is catching up.
@CarlJWill jermaine gonzales of jamaica.....
belgium!!!
Whatever happen to Jeremy
RECORDED UNDERWATER USING A POTATO
NOONE can touch the Americans in the 400.
the guy in lane 8 looks like tosh.o
@idontsignin HAHAHA dude I just read up on it. He was taking Extenze which has that drug in it. He was just trying to improve his sexual performance. Now he must have some self esteem issues but I think that can hardly be known as doping.
Belgium's anchor leg needs to be shot. From 2nd to 5th in one leg. Still ran a national record but damn!
He did look a little suspect compared to everyone else! lol
He fell down
you know, some people just shouldn't wear speed suits.
Run over there heads?! Are you kidding me?! Well give him credit he does not hide his dislike for the Americans. NO COUNTRY can run with the Americans in the 4x400.

Race starts at 4:15
@DrakeBrunette if he was a great athlete he wouldnt have cheated would he.
@TheBebe1598 because mexico is too slow
@DrakeBrunette he tested positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone. i failed to mention that he failed the drugs test 3 times. to me that isnt a great athlete. cheats should be banned for life
Forest Gump don't have nothing on Wariner
OMG David Neville's form is horrible.....I'm sure if he straightened it up a bit he would chop some time off his personal best in the 400m. Looks like he is in pain. Look at 5:50.
nothing like a video of a tv broadcast on a tv... ugh
Pretty decent quality however, except for the audio
@@jmysterio100 UMMM NO
i wish jamaica beat the british
Red singlets to honor China? Why?
If Martin Rooney would have had a better team we would have been in the medals he nearly caught the Russians and he was handed the batern in 7th
and if your aunty had balls she's be your uncle. Yours was a dopey comment
sean wroe trys to copy jeremy wariner...
