    Bold decision!
    If I see correctly from the strip of the video on the bottom, you went with the censored version, I think? If so, I really recommend the uncensored one (it's on a few services), since the censoring is kinda over the top.
    And god, this show is absolutely going to be wild. While they are faithful to the manga with the, uh, acts, they are actually going harder on details, since the manga doesn't even show nipples, while the uncensored version does.
    And supposedly that's only "partial" uncensor (the full one coming with the physical release). I don't know what more they could uncensor, even...
    And everything in this episode was VERY tame compared to what goes on later in the manga in terms of acts. I'm catching up right now since I haven't read it for like two years and uh.. It gets very crazy. Considering your reactions to this episode (especially if it was a censored one), I would worry about how you'll take later ones XD
    Oh, also Venalita actually has a twitter account.
    (Also, complete offtop, how do your subs work? It seems you are showing the very bottom of the video, but it seems to be showing only the top line of two-line subtitles.. Obv they are mirrored in the middle, but that shouldn't affect that. They also display weirdly when there is other text on screen.. Not that I'm trying to read them, just wondering how you see them.)

      So if there’s a double sentence I only cover the first half the mirror it again and make the whole episode black and white also I got the file for the ep on nyaa btw

      @@Queendija Makes sense.
      If you are grabbing them from nyaa then for sure look for the uncensored ones. The SubsPlease 1080p seems to be uncensored, for example.
      I'm quite sure I saw the giant censor "beams" in some scenes even in the small portion of the video you show. Unless I'm mistaken.

    • @Queendija
      @Queendija  10 місяців тому

      Lol yea the beams were there

    • @MIC132MIC

      @@Queendija Yeah, then you got a full censor one. Imo they went way over the top with that. I get censoring nipples (mostly during transformations) or like, close up crotch shots, but they seem to censor stuff like fully clothed chest shot, only because there is a vine between the breasts. (not even groping, like in some other shots)
      And of course considering what this show is and where it is going, watching it censored kinda goes against the point.
      I *still* wonder what the "full" uncensor that's supposed to come with the physical release is going to be. To be clear, the "partial" uncensor that's airing (the one SubsPlease posted on nyaa for example) has none of those beams and actual nipples. I simply didn't see anything in the first episode that could be uncensored further. So it's either for further episodes where the "partial" will still have some things covered (which is possible, as I wrote earlier the first episode shit was mild compared to what happens later), or they entirely cut some shots that are going to only appear in the physical release.

      It seems that the current uncensored is full video, toned down audio (somehow), so the full uncensored will have uncensored audio as well... what the hell is gonna happen to these girls lol

    So when you have manga reader commenting about how they liked this series, most of them probably talking about the more recent chapters (2022-2023) instead of what is going to be adapted (the early chapters). The difference is on framing. You see, the more recent chapters are more in the direction of "Precure but horny", afterall, Trias Magia are clearly Precure inspired (in term of color and design, but not weapon, no Precure actually use sword or spear for fighting).
    However, the early chapters are clearly more inspired by late night magical girl. Shows like Nanoha, Madoka, Machikado Mazoku, etc. Baiser look more like Shamiko instead of any Precure villains, Trias Magia use weapons closer to Nanoha set of weapon, the mascot is very dubious like Kyubey (Precure's mascot are a lot more innocent looking), and other stuffs.
    What this mean is that when people say they like about the show because of A, B, C, D reasons, those reasons probably won't be very obvious early on. Instead, there are a lot more edge and crass-ness in these early chapters that I hope people can at least endure (or better yet, enjoy for what it is) before its more wholesome aspect (while still being very horny) can emerge.
    Or to put it another way, while it might look like a Precure parody at first glance, it actually more like "what if late night magical girls [like Nanoha, Symphogear, Madoka, etc.] are horny, instead of gory?". And only later the Precure element creeps in and make it more appropiate to compare Precure with it.
    Which is to say, this is just episode 1, but I hope we get second season...
    Anyway, sorry for rambling.

      That's a really interesting take; I'm a manga reader with kind of the opposite opinion about what part I like (not that I don't like the most recent stuff, but I love the early parts). Azure/Azul's arc is my favorite in the series, and I am not a fan of the most-recently-introduced characters. I would argue that there hasn't been a shift in theme throughout the series (it's still very rooted in the magical girl standard of "finding out and embracing who you are"), and I'm not sure I'd agree that it's engaging with specific series rather than the specific trappings of the genre. Your comment is definitely something to consider, and I agree that a second season would be great, but this is a yuri show, so...

    • @MarkS00NMcknown
      @MarkS00NMcknown 10 місяців тому +1

      @@NakanaiJP Well, I said "different framing" instead of "different theme". It is more like the early chapter has more Magia Baiser as dark magical girl fighting evil witch, which is more similar to series like Nanoha (1st and 2nd season's big bads are basically has same power with Nanoha) or Symphogear (1st season Fine also use Relic) or Madoka (Witches are corrupted Magical Girl). And the framing is more like Baiser wins because she is more powerful/hornier than her enemies.
      Meanwhile the later half has Magia Baiser as the evil overlord vs Tres Magia as the heroine of justice, which land it squarely into Precure territory, where Justice will prevail because it is Just (and because the Magical Girl accept themselves as who they are or embrace their horny side), instead of because the magical girls are stronger or hornier than Baiser.
      The theme is still the same, but the framing has absolutely change. So if someone expect "Precure but horny", the format of the fight/encounter in the early chapters is so much removed from Precure, that it doesn't fit the Precure comparison. But the later chapters, where Baiser (or one of her general) suddenly appear in the city and fight the girl (or trapped them in a place where the magical girl has to fight to come out) is very much parodying Precure formula (like if you follow HSP, we've got tentacle enemy, giant monster, city invasions, trapped inside a house, trapped inside a console, etc.)
      And, regarding engaging specific series, I it is unfortunately inevitable because the only morning tv magical girl is Precure. Every other morning tv magical show has either ended or discontinued. Meanwhile there is are many late night tv magical show that comes from different lineages (Nanoha, Symphogear comes from action lineage; Madoka, Wixoss comes from a more psychological lineage; Etc.).
      So when try to compare this show with other magical show (which this show parodied a lot), you either only has one title to compare (Precure for morning tv show) or there are too many that you kinda have to be more specific (for example, MahoAko is pretty much not referencing Pleiades or other Magical Girl with strong het romance because it has no male character).
