Home vs Blackburn, poor game but great result!

Both teams started the game in the bottom half of the table, and our first meeting since Ben Wilson’s late equaliser last season.
Let’s be honest the game wasn’t the greatest from either sides perspective, although I can’t recall ever seeing a game where the ball hit the crossbar on 4 different occasions 😳
Blackburn definitely had the lions share of possession and the amount of chances on goal was equal. Blackburn fans and their club will be unhappy about a goal being ruled out but sitting behind the goal it seemed Wilson did have the ball in hands and the played dived in with both feet to kick it out of his hands. The referee appeared to award the goal but then consulted with his assistant and the ruled the goal out.
The officiating for both sides was as poor as we’ve seen it this season, and with it being the same referee as the one at Ewood Park last season, I doubt he’ll be welcomed again at Ewood with open arms🤣
Nevertheless, 2 wins this week for the Sky Blues with another home game on Saturday against Norwich and we’ll be hoping for another 3 points to lift us closer to the playoffs.
