I too bought her La Roux album when it came out last summer here in the US. Its crazy, but I am loving this girl. She has captured a true essence of herself in her music and the many of us searching, have been found.......U got my full attention now girl....... : >
La Roux deserve respect. the first band to release 'DECENT' pop music in ages. i like how you can really hear in their music who their big influences are.
I gotta say, i'm a fan of La Roux. I love how she talks so openly about the song writing in her interviews. I'm learning more of the tips I needed for song building watching her interviews, then anywhere else lately. Got a lot of respect for La Roux and really like their music and i'm not uselly into electronic music.
So how many people are super confident at 20, she looks gorgeous, she has a fantastic voice and it's great music, so everyone go see her live it's performance that matters not sound bites.

Of course we had to put up with Duran Druan and Flock of Seagulls, but we got the whole Scottish scene, etc. Punk bands of the 70s were maturing and doing great music in the early 80s. Good times. All, and I mean ALL, the "indie" bands are just rehashing of what we did back in the early 80s.
I think she really knows what she's talking about. And I also think that it's good when someone has belief in what he/she is doing. Only that will bring you to the top. I know I´m a good art ist and I´m definately gonna make it into fashion ;)

All I'm trying to say that good rap music is out there. Just because it isn't the mainstream doesn't mean it's not there. Furthermore, I feel that it's wrong to stereotype one genre of music and make a single aspect of it the status quo for the entire genre. To say that 'rap' or 'all rap' is bad or only about b*****s and bling is a completely distorted statement. What you see in the mainstream is only a fraction of what is happening in the rap world.

I like her voice more than anything else even though it's auto-tuned. The synth is pretty much unlayered and boring, and not as good as 80s moogs and beats. It's the producing that makes this work so well.

La Roux is more like something that, It may be an aquired taste at first, but if you drew out everything she did to make a song, you would see the beauty. She uses a lot of figurative literacy, whe you listen to her music you have to read the meaning for yourself. Most artists spell it out, she doesn't, and a lot of people don't like it. I think it shows what real people do, not insanely amazing people.
i never fuckin knew there was a video for quicksand ahhh wasnt that her 1st single ever like last year way before she was famous? haha it is soo prince her album and that song, it is SOOOO WHEN DOEVES CRY, and im a huge fan here of Prince and i love La Roux! shes like human league meets prince meets ladytron meets bjork all mixed together =]
